I had that worry, but I was thinking that that just provides a reason to allow the picking of Civs.

That, and I dislike the idea of accidentally winding up as the Huns or Venice.

Whats wrong with the Huns? I won my first BNW game playing as the Huns with a cultural victory. I was even sharing a continent with Siam, Persia and more importantly Genghis Khan.

For some reason, I always think the Huns have a tech penalty. I suppose I'm just remembering the way some Civ 4 mod civs worked.

THank you. As it turned out, the problem was with a redundant net protection service (Bullguard) I had running. Once I removed it (still have Norton) it worked just fine. So far.

OK since were just down to one person left to sign up I just want one final vote for map type. (if its a map type that requires purchase its going to need to be a unanimous decision before I agree to it, because of that if you vote for one of those vote for a "normal" map type as your backup.)

p.s. as long as the map pack is fairly cheap i dont mind picking it up.

O and After we get this thing running I'd love it if we used this thread like the other civ game threads, RPing to each other here through spoilers. Only talking to people if we've met them in game and making sure not to read anything thats not sent to us.

You'll need to generate a new link for the people switching spots. They only work once for private games as far as I remember.

Hm, is the save going around already? I've got a new save up in my GMR client, but it requires the Explorer's map pack to play, which I do not own.

Alright So I guess I got the explorers map pack when I bought the civ5 gold edition and this is apparently one of those maps. Sorry I didn't realize I owned any mappacks. Does everyone else have the explorers mappack? If they don't well need to restart. :(

Civs are assigned...I've got plenty of Maya goodness.
