Alright So I guess I got the explorers map pack when I bought the civ5 gold edition and this is apparently one of those maps. Sorry I didn't realize I owned any mappacks. Does everyone else have the explorers mappack? If they don't well need to restart. :(

Our current location supports many avenues of expansion, and we will be starting first with Plantation technology. The city's position is fortunately well-defended, although I think I will be pursuing a tourism strategy regardless, Brazil looks to favor that.

Send out a few scoots and you'll manage a decent use of it. You also have a good chance of founding the world council if you make the printing press a priority.

Some of the larger islands might have more than one civ on them, if I remember correctly.

Regarding the Polynesian UA, I'd have to say that their early game advantage isn't that clear in a Large Islands map, since the various barbarians camps inaccessible to Civs from the beginning often spawns loads of barbarian ships that will kill any unescorted units trying to cross the oceans. So it'll require an amount of naval investment to actually utilize the Polynesia UA to any serious degree on this map.

Was looking at the web page. Client does say 5 now that I pulled it up. That's quite a bit of a discrepency ><

Question is, do we want to set a time limit for the turns? Currently there's none, meaning the game could grind to a halt if someone forgets to take their turn.

24 hours seems best as today is a good example- my turn started at 1.30am and I'll be available to play at 6 tonight earliest.

24 hours have worked fine for any other games I'm in. Getting skipped and having the AI take your turn isn't the end of the world in any case :)

At worst it could be the end of your country. The world should be fine though.
