Basically some new technologies researched introduce wonders, and it becomes a race for whoever has said tech to get a wonder. Each wonder provides a specific bonus, such as increased population growth.

Raaneki names are almost exclusively Hindi words from good ol' google translator, but I've been making a lot of boy names end in "a" and a lot of girl names end in "i."

The only examples of surnames I have are the royal family, where a girl's surname is her mother's name (but with an "e" at the end...Aditi>Devi Adite), and a boy's surname is his father's name (but with an "o" at the end...Devdan>Avam Devdano). I've been behaving as though surnames are only used to hold onto the name of an exceptional ancestor, so they aren't all that common and typically don't last more than a few generations. I figure lineage is traced more through tattoos, similar to the Jeweled Cities but all over instead of just the face.

I've been keeping this list to keep track of names, how they were adapted from Hindi, and what they mean.

    • Aditi = “Boundless,” ancient hindu goddess of the sky/fertility
    • Devdan = “gift of god”
    • Satata = “Relentless”
    • Seri = “Tigress”
    • Lomadi = “Vixen”

Unimaginative? Perhaps. I'd personally class us all as thinking of the practical side.
I just meant there's not a whole lot of mythical creatures out there that would have been better than the regular ones we did introduce. I really wasn't meaning anything on duplicates, hell, me and 100 others have timber as a resource. I mean, there's been major conflict over the Heartwaste for Bloodfire cause it's a unique and imaginative resource, pegasi would probably be better than horses, that sort of thing.

I figure that Pegasi are also not generally possessive of special abilities that would make them require a technology to make them useable. However, since they can fly, I *would* require a technology for their training specificially if someone wants to use them to make Aerial units. Because aerial units are quite useful due to slightly greater maneuverability, I'd require a Curiosity 10 Special to make a technology to allow a player to make them. Just like Kasumor did with their insects.

I'm very curious to see what King Andust will ask the Blazing Avatar.

I believe Kasumor only used a Curiosity 5 action to create the flying insects. Unless his region post is out of date then he's only got 6 Curiosity, so he wouldn't have been able to do a Curiosity 10.

He did it in Round One, during which technology was still only a Cur 5 action, because stats only went up to 5. Round 2 start saw attributes going up to 10 and a lot of extra special actions being introduced.

Mithrilforging was also introduced in Round One, as was oceanfaring technology.

You could always make your pegasi a little atypical, but sounds like they're diurnal. Was just curious. 「Sorry hahah」

Ooooo. I could make them nocturnal! The pegasi could also be nocturnal, and I could make their fur black instead of the traditional white. That would be so cool.

Ikr. It's not enough. I'm so bad at writing lengthy things, I must write more of a short novella next time I colonize a region.

Honestly though, I'm very sorry if anyone's annoyed by the amount I write. It's part of why my signature has a brief overview. The armies/population spoiler is currently incorrect though, as I've only corrected it in the backed up version of the post...

That may be so, but there's nothing wrong with actual creatures.
Anyways... For every unique and imaginative resource, we need a whole bunch of boring practical resources. Like iron, timber and grain.

Where do your pegasi live and what are they like? Maybe they are most abundant in an awesome natural landmark. Is there a resource you have listed with the potential to make something amazing? Does your region have any waterfalls, whirlpools, mighty rivers, oases? Maybe the mountains could be one?

If you're extremely stuck for inspiration, scrolling through others' terrain ideas seems a good start to me.

EDIT - I'm apparently obsessed with water.

There was movement in the corner of his eyes, but he didn't pay attention to it. "I will make sure a few monks are sent to help in the investigation. The perpetrator will be caught so that the people of Celero can once more be safe."

Was that the sound of scraping metal, distantly? It was probably just the hovercrafts. "Other than that, how are you faring, Andust? I have heard rumours you plan on abdicating the throne soon. I've brought along a case of firewine for your heir just in case."

This was it for Thamiel, his moment of ultimate glory. There was a scream behind him, and then another, but it was too late. He was already on the way to infamy as his unsheathed blade shimmered, its brilliance guiding him as he leapt at the tall blazing man and thrust the sword forward. It plunged into the Blazing Avatar's back and burst out of his chest, throwing sparks around even in the face of the king of Celero. The Avatar roared in pain, his mouth and eyes burning brightly. Thamiel pulled out the blade and struck again, cutting across the Avatar's back once , twice, thrice. Blood was flung around, off the blade. The Avatar dropped to his knees, the light in his veins turning black.

"For the Order!" Shouted Thamiel fanatically, thrusting his sword-arm into the air triumphantly as he looked around at all looking on. "For the Khater! For the True Fire of the Lord!"
Amazing Jaune Arc avatar made by the talented artist Comissar. Thanks a lot!
