Hearing that the veil may indeed contain lockpicks, he continues, and waves his hands for Stinky to stop pulling.

The young man on the end awoke form his bizarre choking nightmare with a start, coughing and spitting. Unfortunately, he was still shackled to a wall.

"unnn... What's going on?" he groggily asked no one in particular

sorjen, I'm smart in the ways of magic items, let me take a look at it, erogoth stretches his wing as far as it would go, near the prisoners hand

Orrick released the chain after a moment. As fun as it was, the snot probably wasn't worth effort. Besides, it was really hard to contort the chains in that way--so hard that it really shouldn't have been possible.

Sorjen passes the Veil to Erogoth.

With some painful maneuvering, erogoth is able to look at the veil closely,interesting

As Erogoth moves the veil to his hands so he see it closer, he accidentally pulls on a loose string popping out the bottle. Now in his hands are the veil and a potion of some kind where the string used to be. looking at the cloth again reveals a small loose string for each picture.

Erogoth grins , I guess there were strings attached to that deal his inner conscience immediately dislikes the use of the punalright, who wants what?

The one on the end turns his head

"Who wants what what?"

[Burnheart]

Sorjen

"Get me those picks and i can get us all out of these shackles."

[sirveaux]

"Picks? Hey, amateur, pass those this way, and I'll be out in a second!"

The paladin gives a quiet sigh. "May I remind you all that we are, in fact, under guard? You may wish to lower your voices."

Orrick

Orrick pulls experimentally at his chains, seeing if there is any give. He is unable to break them. Forced to rely on others, he turns to Erogoth. "Free me from these chains and bring me a weapon, and I will help you fight your way out of here."

Erogoth unwraps every design, exept the middle, ritualistic pentagram, he them places them on the floor, using mage hands he moves the lock picks to sorjen, because I have trust issues

Sorjen

"Thanks." Sorjen says as he gets his hands on the picks after that he focuses completely on trying to free his hands.

The stuff on the ground arranged left to right:

Potion, sack full of spell components & clothes, two daggers, a Bulls eye lantern full lit and shuttered, a sack of 200 gold pieces, and hempen rope.

when Erogoth pulls the string for the window, it makes a hole to see through behind him, big enough to climb through but not big enough to free him.

When Orrick tries to break his chains, Sorjen tries the lock but fails almost losing the picks. "Was that a rat?" could be heard coming from the closed room to the guardroom.

[Athaleon]

"Hide that stuff" Arvus hissed as the guards piped up. It'd be a shame if this miraculous windfall went to waste because some thief couldn't pick a lock quietly.

[TheVitulus]

"Once you get yourself, free myself or the duelist first. We need to be ready if the guards come." The paladin, closes her eyes, praying silently as she waits.

With my mage hands I attempt to reverse the process and put the objects back in the veil

El Silencio glares at Sorjen.

"If you break those picks, I swear by all you hold sacred I will find you and I will end you, in this life or the next"

He strains at his manacles.

when Erogoth first tries to put the potion back on the veil it doesn't work.

Orrick

Taking a deep breath, Orrick stilled himself. To give them away now, when they were so close to escape, would be an enormous embarrassment. "Do not worry about hiding it," he said. "The most important thing is to free us."

Sorjen

Ignoring the others and focussing fully on the shackles Sorjen once again tries to unlock them and free his hands.

Sorjen fumbles and completely drops the picks. The guards could be heard saying, "Did you hear something metal just drop? Yeah, must have been from the Kitchen though."

"Whoops."

The UnSilent Man glowers at Sorjen, and then the picks. He slumps down, nearly resigned to his fate.

The paladin lets out a held breath. "It's okay. Mage, help him retrieve the picks. Keep trying."

[sirveaux]

The gaze turns from the picks to the woman.

"And when that fails, maybe you can call an end to Amateur Hour, and then we can make some progress. And who made you the Head Gaoler, lass? Mage, give ME the picks, and you'll see what a professional can do."

you get one more shot, then mood swing gets a cracked at it and with that erogoth lifts the picks once more to give to sorjen

The paladin shakes her head. "I don't care who gets the picks as long as they're used."

"Fine." Sorjen says before once again attempting to free himself.
