Ah, all right. Might as well focus on Dangerous for it, then.

I was a bit annoyed when I started the thing since I didn't check it before and the tooltips mentioning the PoSI suggest you need to raise just one stat...
    Woohoo, Coruscating buddies!

Also, I forgot to mention this but I got a Dreadful Surmise from chillin' with the Captivating Princess during the Festival. Anything I should save it for, or can I sell it and eventually obtain another one?

Keep it, you can get another from The Smugglers Lamp (some special link thing), still, I think it may eventually have a use.

Also of note, I've discovered some places where you get Making Waves by converting items.

Incendiary Gossip -> Memories of Distant Shores and Tales of Terror -> Extraordinary Implications (if I recall correctly) do. I think? I was just converting things laterally for funsies.

There's a lot of conversions that now give making waves. Pretty much everything involving influence or rumours. Not just lateral, either, upwards too.

Along the same line of thought, how does one acquire a Touching Love Story? I am one short of being able to declare my affection for another. It's suggesting that I combine Nostalgia items, but I don't know which ones.

Also, thank you to everyone who's accepted my calling card. It is indeed a pleasure to make your aquaintence.

When it comes to the Academy storyline, other than being an upstanding moral individual, is there any mechanical benefit to accusing a certain someone and getting thrown out of the academy? Or does it just force you to do a bunch of research work just so you can get academy access again?

You can't make a companion a spouse, but you can acquire a non-player spouse--it was that way originally. To my recollection, there were two regular possible spouses (the Jewel-Thief and the Artist's Model) whom you had met earlier in the game, as well as some Fate-locked spouses in the Foreign Office.

Hrm. Good to know. On a more subjective level: Cave of Nadir, I've been hitting it up weekly, obviously, for its nice little perks, careful to always keep at 5 on the nose when I leave... But I know you can semi-safely go as high as 9, is it better to accept the slightly larger stat loss per point for being able to use it more/more quickly, or is slow and steady the proper way about it?

Of course- you're giving lessons to the Rattus Faber, and he's relaying them back to Varen. It all makes sense now.

Oh, no, no; I wouldn't trust the Talkative Rattus Faber to do that. We're actually doing a sort of handicap-training. I teach Varen sneaky-sneaky techniques while the Rattus hangs around, making noise and drawing all manner of attention.

It's a real challenge, let me tell you.

So, I know of what you get when you complete the What the Thunder Said dreams storyline; do you get anything similar for the other ones?

I don't think so. I haven't seen any other options on any of the cards, though in theory, the branch could be hidden unless you have the qualities needed.

It actually *sets* your Stormy Eyed to 7, if my memory serve. Be careful about that. Also be careful with Stormy Eyed in general...

Yeah, it sets it to 7, though different options increase/decrease it. I don't know what the hazards of it are (besides some giving a nightmare increase), though I have my theory.

What ARE the benefits of that? Or is it something best managed around a middling level?

Eh, well, in theory Stormy Eyed is safest kept at a middling level. If it gets too high something... Interesting happens, the down side is it can take a lot of work to get back, and you lose your Stomy Eyed (Which is ALSO a pain to get back), but you have chances to get Aoelian Screams, stats, a few other things, and... Well a lot of interesting text. And isn't that what we're here for? =P
