"I wonder if they have any open positions for a doctor?" he muttered to himself as he walked to one of the beds. Doc placed his saddlebag down and looked toward the towels on stage. He walked over to the door by the podium and peeked beyond it to see if the sign was just.

The sign did not lie!

Behind the door lay, in fact, a rather diverse assortment of devices and objects that could foreseeably clean a pony, or at least get them wet. There was a large space in one corner with showerheads set into the ceiling and drains set in the floor, while the rest of the room was taken up by a large pool and a smaller, circular one that was set in a raised part of the floor. Three water fountains and three faucets were set into the walls as well, presumably to clean hooves or something like that. The room smelled faintly of chlorine, and had several doors leading out of it besides the one connected to convention hall. Why in the name of sweet Celestia would the hotel pool room be connected to the place where business ponies would meet up is probably a mystery that probably baffled the ponies who worked here two hundred years ago.

"Might as well make the most of it if they're offerin'," Doc said. He took a couple items from the stage and went into the shower room to clean up.

Supply Route gathered up a bunch of blankets, pillows and her bedroll before collapsing on the lot right in front of the door. If anypony tried to sneak in or out, they'd have to make her move first. She quickly fell asleep, wrapped around a pillow and drooling.

Doc had pulled his red coat off and given it a bit of a rinse in one of the fountains. After a quick wring and leaving it hanging off the side of the fountain to dry, he settled into the smaller raised pool to scrub some of wasteland off. He had almost forgotten the actual shade of brown his fur was supposed to be. Despite the situation, he enjoyed the bit of kindness these folks had shown. If the Sultana was half as nice as the hospitality, then Doc was feeling that everything was going to be okay.

The only thing that happened over the night was that the air conditioner kicked on in the room. Otherwise, nothing else of importance happened.

Supply Route woke up with a massive yawn. Good morning Noise. Are you ready for your speech? she asked, a little too sleepy still to notice Noise's nervousness.

Doc stretched and sat up. "Well these folks certainly have been hospitable if anything," he pointed out. "I'm sure the Sultana is a reasonable leader who will hear us out."

Soon after the party started to stir, the door that led to the rest of the hotel opened, and a very distinct figure entered the room.

He was nearly breaching the limit of what could be considered the natural size of a mortal pony, and the dull grey metal armor he wore only made him look bigger. His coat was a yellow-white and his hair was a dark orange, and while he carried no weapons the helm he wore had an obviously fake horn jutting out the middle of it that was presumably not ornamental. His hooves were shod and his legs were protected with large guards that would have been bulky on anypony in the room but him, while his entire torso and lower body was completely covered by two solid pieces of unornamented iron. The only decoration on the armor, in fact, was a stylized red sun with a yellow crescent moon in the middle of it, centered in the front of the breastplate.


The big stallion took a few steps into the room, looked at the five ponies present, and spoke. He sounded as stern and unwavering as he looked.

"Sari wishes to see you now."

The stallion didn't seem to especially care about the fact that the doctor was getting dressed, but his eye's did seem to linger on his medical supplies. He took the same sort of interest in Supply Route's swords and Stellar's rifle, visibly gauging how close the two were to their respective weapons.

Chiseled gave the new pony a look over. "And how do you serve this Sari?" he asked, partly curious, partly questioningly.

The stallion snorted lightly.

"I am the high commander of the Servers of The Sun. My people protect all under it's care. Sari is, at the moment, the leader the people have chosen for themselves. To say that I serve her would be a lie. To say that I serve the people, who chose her to lead them, though, would be correct."

The stallion didn't seem to have room to hide anything on him, and his armor was plain and didn't seem to have any hidden components. The backs of his knees were not covered by his armor, though the breastplate he was wearing seemed as solid and sturdy as the stallion himself. The large horn on his helm, from the assassin's close inspection, had the faintest traces of darkish stains on it that was clearly old, dried blood.

The stallion, though, noticed Supply Route studying him. He didn't seem to especially care, though.

"Interesting swords. Don't try using them here."

Don't make me have to. Supply replied simply as she waited for the others to be ready to leave.

Doc finished getting dressed and packing his bags. He said nothing, but he was definitely thinking to himself about the high commander's statement to not try using swords here. Seemed obvious, but that just goes to show how little that stallion trusted the group. Doc hoped he wasn't a hint of what was to come.

Chiseled nodded, he could certainly sympathize with a pony that was trying to protect those under his care. These "Servers of the Sun" seemed like they worshiped the Light as his tribe did, though in their own fashion. He only hoped they would understand they did not wish to harm them.

The stallion, while dismissive of Supply Route's statement, neverless looked concerned at the two pegasi in the room. While it was true that he probably weighed more than the two of them combined, the high commander of the Servants of the Sun looked visibly unsettled by Joyous Noise.

The stallion did, in fact, seem to find the smile slightly calming. After averting his gaze, he lightly shuffled his hooves around, which made a sound akin to a bass drum being attacked with a sledgehammer.

"Forgive my rudeness. My name is Sunrise Scimitar."

The stallion smiled. It looked slightly pained, as if the muscles on his face were not used to being pulled that way.

But when the kindly ghoul pegasus defuses the situation with a smile, Stellar forces herself to relax. "Stellar Blaze," she says curtly by way of introduction. Her shoulders ease a fraction as she makes a second effort to relax, careful to keep her wings and their blades neatly folded. "We're ready to meet Sari now."

Sunrise Scimitar blinked at Stellars words. The pained contortion of facial muscles that he bore on his face faded back into a far more natural shape. It resembled a slight scowl.

"I suppose you all are."

The stallion blinked, and shook his armored head slightly before turning around halfway towards the door.

"Follow me, please."

Sunrise Scimitar left the room without another word. He ducked slightly as he exited, so that the horn on his helmet didn't scrap the doorframe.

The hotel was currently at a crisp seventy-five degrees and all the lights above the ponies were alight, and the carpet, in the sharp artificial lighting, looked only somewhat worn, with patches of discrepancy here and there.

But as for keeping track of where they were going, that was rather easy, because Sunrise Scimitar simply continued to walk to the wall directly in front of the entrance to the guest room, paused for a few moments, and stepped forward once more, vanishing in plain sight as he seemingly disappeared into the wall.

The space where Sunrise Scimitar seemingly merged into immediately began to shimmer like a mirage and eventually vanished, revealing another hallway, one with a single door at the end of it. The words 'Convention Hall B' were written on it.

The stallion simply stood outside the door, apparently expecting the five of them to pass by him without another word. He didn't look like his actions needed any more explanation.

Doc continued on into the hall, feeling a bit optimistic that the 'B' might stand for Benevolence.

Before the doctor made it past Sunrise Scimitar, he raised a hoof, blocking the ponies from continuing down the hall by the virtue of him being able to touch one side of the hallway while standing on the other side of it.

"If you have any hidden firearms or weapons of any kind, or if you intend on bringing harm to the Sultana, now is the time to admit it."

The massive stallion briefly looked at Stellar Blaze, rather, Stellar Blaze's wings. After a few moments, he nodded at her, as if to confirm that he saw what she had on her wings.

"Good day to you all. May the rest of it be good as well."

With that, the big stallion trotted past the group and headed towards the front of the building, leaving no obstacles between them and the door.

Supply waits a moment for Sunrise to get some distance before whispering to the others Alright, if everything goes haywire, just run and get me to a window while staying as close as you can to me. I'll take care of the rest.

Stellar holds the station's gaze for a moment before sighing and quickly undoing the straps with her teeth. "I suggest we do as he says. We're here to be heard, not to cause trouble." She considers trotting back to the room to leave them there, or chasing after Sunrise Scimitar, but instead opts for leaving them in a neat pile by the door to the convention room.
