Don't get your hopes up. Your characters are all just kittens, so they're probably even less useful than normal villagers.

On a related note, I wonder if it would be a good idea to keep this pessimist thing going when the role playing starts. It's kind of fun, but it might become grating pretty quickly. I'm not sure.

((Got my role, so I'll start RPing, I guess.))

Standing outside of his filthy tent, Eli started the day. The morning dust drifted in, smacking house doors and windows, and causing Eli to cough in a fit. It sounded a bit like sandpaper trying to find new and exciting ways to smooth wood, too fast and too rough to really feel genuine, even though it was.
Elis wares, however, were another story.
"Step right up, step right up! Ladies and genteelman, I present to you the finest wares a man can offer!"
These were, of course, blatant lies. Displayed on old tables and pieces of rock were chipped pots sold as Ancient Abyssinian Pots, a few dirty weeds he dug up which he claimed were Wolfsbane, and various bits of colored glass that he said were good luck charms. Further back he had a set of supposedly enchanted cards (absolute rubbish, those cards had lost him more money than any venture he'd gone on), and a small mail opener that, unbeknownst to him, was in fact enchanted.
This was most likely why it always seemed to knick his fingers.
Eli had hurried on to the small town once the wolves struck because he had experience in things like these, according to an old book he kept under lock and key in the back.
But Eli also knew that mob mentality meant more for merchants. And more was what he was here to get.
"C'mon, everybody needs a little something!"
He exclaimed, though in truth not too many people had left their houses.
"Damn yokels. Wouldn't know a good deal if it sank its teeth up their rear end and all --"
He was cut off by a coughing fit once again, raspy splitters and gasps finally giving way back to his voice.
It was going, he realized, to be a long day. He didn't know the half of it.

Just go with the basic feel you get off of the character post he gives you. My character seemed like a moneygrubber, so I made him one of those "snake oil" salesman, a guy loving off of other peoples ignorance/desperation. Bit you can olay your character any way you want!

The game would have started tonight, but campus was without internet until about midnight. The game ought to start tomorrow.

Well, so much for the game starting today.

Since the forum will be down starting Saturday, what I'm going to do is start the game tomorrow (it's Friday, so that should actually happen, right? >_<) on Day 0. I was going to do this anyway, but now there's even more reason to.

Day 0 is solely for roleplaying and getting into character. No voting will take place, and in-character, the Rardmuk Clan wants a day to observe before they begin hunting. This will allow time for those of you who are playing with "in-character suspicions" to develop such suspicions. I heartily encourage this idea, as I think it adds to the game's roleplaying aspect.

There will be no Night 0.

Day 1 will start, with voting and all, on Saturday, March 29, assuming the forum is back up, regardless of how early the forum may come back up.

A few notes about the setting:

Please roleplay as a human.
This game is a nonmagical setting, and as such, magical things should not be happening. (Or, at least not without prior permission from me) This is also the reason for having human-only characters.

I'm sure I had some other points. If I recall them, I will post them here.

Merchant's Tent of Worthless Wares

Kanias leans on his quarterstaff in the shade of the recently erected tent. Sure, people might associate his presence with useless junk, thus worsening his reputation, but this was of no concern to him. He had people who would stick by him, though he'd never be certain as to why they did. Werewolf: also known as a lycanthrope, it is any man or woman who changes from a human into a wolf, often times losing their sense of morality and devouring the flesh of other humans. He states with disinterest, like he's said it a million times. Every village gets an infestation at one time or another... he mutters to himself, his face covered by the hood of his dark cloak. Val Kanias may be grim, but anyone who knew him trusted him, despite his apathetic nature.
