A dog walks through the door into the office, seeing how it just happened to be left open. It appears to be a Siberian Husky, with a reddish coat of fur and bright blue eyes, a shiny collar of thin chains coiled around its neck. Ross might just recall it as the chain from Arlem's knife.

Even if he is unable to understand the subtleties of the dog's speech, a voice should sound in the cyborg's head to clarify things.

I thought I would come and introduce myself, start our relationship off on a foot that doesn't involve mind-control or city-leveling weapons *low-level discontent at HALO's past leadership*. Whoops! Leo was so caught up in the excitement at his discovery that he forgot his manners toward Arlem. He gently places the ball back down before turning to her and returning her gesture, moving slowly and deliberately to avoid displacing Mr. C by mistake. "You've done me a great service today, Miss Arlem," he thanks her. "I hope that I'll find a way to return the favor someday."

Once they've finished exchanging these and other pleasantries, Leo will turn his attention to the diminutive being on his head and ask, "What would you like to do now, Mr. C? Is there any other place you'd like to go, or...?"

((I'm suddenly reminded of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. Leo and Mr. C = Oliver and Mr. Drippy?))

Then she picks it up again because it's a very nice cloak and you don't just leave those on the floor.
