As far as I have tested, yes. The only places it can't go are those that have specific protection against teleportation.

"I'm not sure exactly. I suspect that it can tell if it's path leads into an obstruction and the safety features prevent the portal from being opened. But how it does that? I haven't quite figured it out yet."

Good. Where are you taking me? She lets go, not understanding what the big deal is. If she was really sneaking up on Eira, wouldn't she hide herself in the other goddess' shadow for a few days?

Eira chews her lower lip nervously, and says, "Umm...I'm kinda new here...I don't know where anything is. Where do you want to go?"

Ross shrugs.

"I'm not sure exactly. I suspect that it can tell if it's path leads into an obstruction and the safety features prevent the portal from being opened. But how it does that? I haven't quite figured it out yet."

"But you'd need some way to scan potential reception areas, like a spy satellite or... Why do I suspect it's handled by magic?" Willow says. The way she says that last word is enough to show how distasteful she finds it.

"I do not. It's inconsistent and non-falsifiable." Willow says. "It isn't scientific." She puts the cover back on the device and screws it down.

Ross nods sympathetically.

"I know what you mean. I've had more than my share of trouble trying to figure out these things as a result of the magic most likely used in their design."

"I could replace it with a full tech point to point system, but Magtok shares the patent with me on this, so I'd need to clear it with him. And besides, people who are used to the flexibility of just poofing to wherever they like probably wouldn't appreciate the limitations." Willow shakes her head. "You won't see me stepping through that thing though. The uncertainty isn't worth it."

Actually, come to think of it, Willow is telling me that she doesn't teleport at all - even with her own system. She's too much of a control freak to accept her atoms being dashed about.

"Can I see your Inside simulation?" She asks. She's being less flirty than she was before - talking shop has that effect on her - but her charm is still there.

When she approaches the door, Magtok is already there, holding it open for her. It would be rude otherwise, seeing as she's clearly not in the best of shape and he has that camera built into the plaque, letting him know exactly what's going on just outside his office.

"Carrie, I presume?"

She smiles a bit; at least the new boss is courteous. That's me. Nice to, uh... meet our new leader. I heard there was something you wanted to talk to me about?

A grin comes across Ross's face at the mention of his favorite project and he motions down the hall.

"It feeds into the strategy room down this way."

"We're not going to be jumped when we walk in, are we? I'm a thinker, not a fighter." Willow says. She's somewhat lying. She has a costumed persona, Black Maul, who does a bit of super-personing (not terribly heroic or villainous... yet) in Skyside. But she's not prepped for leaping into a phone booth and changing over in the blink of an eye. She has to go to her base and put on power armour and gear up before she's ready to leap tall buildings.

An application might be a hostage situation where the police might use it to prefect the best way to breach and clear the building with minimal threat to the hostages or themselves. I haven't tried to add simulated people quite yet.

"Very well," Leo says. "Do take care, Miss Arlem." There's probably not much more to be said, so Arlem is free to be on her way, if she's needed elsewhere.



"Alright, let's go find your friend." Leo starts making for the exit as he proposes, "We came from the Dancing Fox to get here, so let's check out Trog's first. Even if he's not there, we might learn something about his location."

"Well, I kow he got some work, but actually I don't know anything since it disapeared. We could also search for something to train your ability. Trog's might be best after all."

"Where do you get the data to update every 24?" Willow asks.

I use multiple ways. Drones that take the high angle shots and go where people can't reach. I've paid people in each of the zones to collect images and architectural information. I try to add new methods as often as possible to increase accuracy.

As Ross finishes speaking the Strategy room goes dark and the table at it's center begins to glow and lowers to the ground creating a large open space. A loud humming can hear heard as the emitters activate and the room seems to transform into a view of Inside from above.

We're about a thousand feet up in this image. You can get anywhere in the city if you give the computer x y z coordinates.

Thariza is there, intently working on refuelling and oiling some aircraft. She seems to be rather upset about something, and she to work in order to avoid being tempted to drown it in alcohol.

She tries to think, maybe a little distracted by Eira's lip-biting, and then recalls something she was once told. The Dancing Fox Inn is supposed to be violence-free. We could go there?

Eira nods and happily says, "Sure! Um...When do you want to go? Now?" She's a little worried...And not at all dressed for the occasion.

"Hi," Thariza says glumly as she hauls a fuel line to his jet. "Does this one need filling?"

I-is now not a good time? We can go whenever you want. It's not like I can't wait or anything.

Thariza may have to repeat herself, or clear her throat, or chuck something at his head. The guy's zoning out, total thousand yard stare and everything. When she finally gets his attention, he shakes his head and starts climbing out. Oh, no. Sorry. Everything's fine here.

Eira blushes and says, "Um...I need to change...Meet you there in an hour or so?"

Thariza's tail swishes and her ears flick.

"Are you alright?" she asks.

Kyne nods and abruptly disappears.

I'm fine. Just fine. How are you?

"Not that well," Thariza says. "Have you heard about the person who died in our infirmary of alcohol poisoning?"
