    Gundwolf twirls the business end of his flail and grins at Kristoph. Lead the way. He remains at the rear, but seems to still be keeping one eye on the front as they prepare to enter the prison.

    Noticing the haunt siphon in Aurora's hands, Kristoph gently steps to her and says, "I will be right beside you - let's have you in front with me so we can try to use this siphon properly at the right moment." He then steps forward onto the stairs, guiding her to walk beside him as they approach the landing.

    As you Reach the top of the stairs, you feel a cold chill run down your spine and odd sensation of something cold and sharp touching the back of your neck. Looking around you see the broken down remains of a headsman's block, though oddly the blood seems fresh.

    Next to it lies an axe, with a stain on its blade.

    It is an Axe animated through magic and the emotions of the hundreds of prisoners it killed. Being made from metal makes it resilient to being attacked (Hardness 10) but as it is being powered by negative energy, it is still vulnerable to positive energy.


    Kristoph moves towards the axe cautiously, keeping a constant watch for enemies. As he bends over to examine it, it jerks up and two ghostly arms appear to hold it up. Elian is quick to get his crossbow up, but never pulls the trigger. Aurora twists the mechanism at the top of the haunt siphon and it begins to glow. A whirring noise can be heard inside of it, it slowly crescendos....and then nothing! The mechanism resets itself without doing anything!

    Kristoph swings at the axe and it dodges his blow with an audible cackle from the malevolent spirit within. It continues to elude the party's attacks while cackling before finally swinging at Kristoph and missing.

    @Starnes: What do you think about Aurora using her Healing Hex to damage undead a la CLW? There's nothing I can see in the description that would prevent it.

    If she can use it to damage undead, standard action activate hex, move into melee adjacent to Kristoph, then melee touch attack: (1d20-2)[10] for (1d8+1)[8] damage

    Else, she will stay put and use Total Defense.

    Elian responds to Kristoph's command takes up a position next to the head block to further distract the axe. Aurora channels some positive energy, but can't quite reach the axe with her hands.
