    Your group decide to wait it out, hanging by the treeline, observing the fort for any activity. After about a minute, a voice rang out in the field: "Five minutes remaining."

    The test had reached its midpoint. Before you could talk about what to do next, sure enough, a commotion erupts on the left side of the fort, the one near the edge of the forest. After a few seconds, another war cry could be heard from the other side.

    Looks like the party has started.

    With everyone at the fort either defending or attacking, they hardly notice your group's approach. With the soft peat beneath you and most of the members opting to somehow be stealthy, the going is slow.

    After you traversed about half the distance, another announcement rings out: "Group B member Ort has managed to capture the flag. 10 points for Group B. Four minutes left."

    The announcement makes the commotion in the fort pause for a short while, but even before it is finished, the chaos continues. Your group gains another hundred yards or so before you see actual people fighting, coming out the palisades to the left of you. It is obvious to you that the people are divided into at least two groups, with one group fleeing and the other group pursuing. And with regards to who got the flag, it would be unmistakable: one member of the fleeing group is carrying a large pole with an equally large triangular piece of white cloth that is waving wildly in the wind.

    Before you could even decide to pursue, arrows fly past you from within the fort.

    "More intruders!"

    You turn to see a pair of leather-armored men standing atop the watchtower, already nocking their arrows and preparing to fire again. It seems they don't care which side you are on, whether you're with the groups who just attacked them or the ones who took the flag; as long as you are not on theirs, you're fair game.

    James moves quickly to the left, knowing that the flag was just as valuable as the fort, and far less well guarded, before he focuses, causing a burst of glitter to surround the flagbearer, getting the entire red team.

    While you begin to move in, the two groups seem to not take notice of you for the moment. The one who has the flag are intent on keeping it while the other team after them obviously doesn't want that. The team with the flag head into the forest, but before all of them can seek shelter from the trees, some members of the pursuing team catch up to one of their members, making the rest of them stop.

    Eugene stalks from behind the group, drawing his pistol. He aims at the closest foe; in his mind, any enemy is worth a point anyway, so he doesn't care which one he takes down. He shoots, but it seems the problem with compatibility is still there, as his shot misses its mark. At the same time, Sir Stalwart has maneuvered his way to the front of the pack, ready to protect them at all costs.

    Meanwhile, the two at the top of the watchtower concentrate on the nearing Gol, and they fire at him with their bows. They mostly miss, but one arrow makes it way just through Gol's armor. He could feel the weight of the impact on his chest, but it doesn't go deep enough to draw blood.

    James follows Eugene's lead, maybe almost too closely, as he misses his shot on the flag bearer as well. Water, on the other hand, covers Gol as the dwarf darts around the palisades and under the watchtower. As he does so, he manages to see own of the archers above fall with a loud thud a few feet from him, seemingly stunned by more than just the fall.

    As your group begin to move, the other two at this point has discovered your presence, however looks to disregard you for the moment. The group that took the flag hurries deeper into the trees, with the one that got left behind shouting "Don't mind me! Go!" before being clobbered into unconsciousness by the chasing group.

    Cursing under his breath, Eugene runs towards the trees as he draws his other pistol. His eyes are still focused on the flag bearer, and although the huge white cloth waving about is hard to miss, the one carrying it isn't so easy a target, running among trees at that. He aims his weapon and fires, this time managing to hit despite the difficulty of the shot. Behind him, the ever trusty Sir Stalwart also makes for the trees, keeping himself in between the pursuing team and yours.

    Meanwhile, the fort guards try to catch up as well, with two managing to catch up with the last of the pursuing group. Mace and sword swing at the halfling, but only one attack finds purchase, leaving a small gash on his forearm. Inside the camp, some of the archers up on the towers try to fire at the fleeing groups, but none seem to hit their target. The rest now turn their focus on the dwarf that managed to make his way under one of the towers. They fire, but apparently if they can't hit targets on an open field, much less a hiding dwarf. One of the remaining guards though slowly makes his way towards Gol, axe swinging to his side as he runs.

    James darts towards the trees as well, not letting off on his target. He stops just before the treeline, pulls another arrow from his quiver, nocks it, and lets fly. This time he hits his mark, grazing the right arm. Water also focuses on the flagbearer now and launches his attack but it misses. Eugene reloads his pistol and fires once more, hitting again, but still not enough to stop the flagbearer. The leading group still keeps to their tactic, running away as best as they could. The pursuing group, on the other hand, seems to have changed theirs, and they veer towards your group. The lead immediately bares his sword at Sir Stalwart, brushing through his defenses with one heavy chop. From behind him, an arrow and three energy darts all slam into the little knight's body, leaving him visibly battered, but still standing. He tightens his grip and swings back at the swordsman, but his foe easily deflects his attack. One moves around and lunges at Water with two shortswords, but the elemental easily dodges both attack. Behind them, the pursuing guards disregard the two groups who have begun to fight and continue to chase after the flag.

    Bak inside the fort, Gol squares off with the axeman who comes to greet him. He begins a weird dance, spinning on one leg, then the other, then on one hand and then the other. When he finishes, his target is nothing more than a bloodied and battered heap on the ground. The archers up top continue to fire at him, but most arrows hit wood. One manages to hit though, embedding itself on the dwarf's thigh. The one who got knocked down by Water earlier gets up, exposing himself to Gol and tries to put some distance between him and the dwarf.

    Gol takes a swing at the other axeman as he flees, but does not give chase, instead moving back in a cartwheel and hacking at the supports of the guard tower above him.

    As the fallen archer gets up, Gol capitalizes on the opening and slashes a deep one on the man's back. He yelps from the pain and tries to gain as much distance from his attacker. Not bothering to give chase, Gol steps back under the tower and unleashes bladey Hells on one of the tower support post. The thick wood finally gives way under the flurry of steel, and, after swaying a bit, a loud crack issues forth from the rest of the supports breaking and the whole tower crashes down, along with the remaining archer. Gol accomplishes his goal, but he now has to dodge out of the way of falling wood as two arrows nail him on his chest armor.

    Outside, it is a head-on clash between the rest of your group and the chasing group. James fires first with his arrow, grazing the mage. From where he is hit, arcane energy seems to leak out and swirls into a fist-sized ball before flying straight to James. Water also turns his attention to this group and greets them with a crashing wave. He hits the mage full on and is badly hurt now, but the swordsman is able to brace himself for the impact. The mage retaliates with a fiery ray, but his spell goes badly wide. The archer also turns and fires two arrows, but her shots also miss their mark.

    The swordsman shakes of the water from his hands and continues to harry Sir Stalwart, but this time, the trusty puppet is ready for his attacks, and he dodges them easily. Just as he raises his scythe to counter-attack, a dagger pierces through the back of his head. The glow in his eyes flicker out before he winks out of existence.

    "Damnit!" Eugene, seeing Sir Stalwart destroyed, hurriedly fires at the elf who offed his puppet, but misses in his agitation.

    The two fort guards continue to give chase after the flag when suddenly they hear shouts ahead of them.

    "Aw sheet!! Ugh!"

    Gol dodges away from the fragments of tower easily, but still takes two arrows, collapsing to the ground with a cry of pain. He does not rise.
