If you're still planning on splitting the chapter in two, is the part where they finally upload into Hypt going to be the break point?

Edit: Oh, and apparently Rand and Marnia relate surprisingly similarly to their dragon sidekicks. I eagerly anticipate Jeroshaw dumping him into a bowl of hot water or something.

Every time I feel like I'm prepared for what this comic will throw at me, I learn the error of my ways. Who would have thought that Savaddor would turn out to be the normal one among Hyptian Professors?

(Well, I guess Iddex is fairly normal, but she's also bizarrely antagonistic to Savaddor for no reason I can tell).

I like how varied their designs are, even if it seems to go against the retro aesthetic Hypt as a whole has.

I was afraid of that. I REALLY want Prof. Iamphsi to speak in yellow text but I also didn't want the usual black-colored speech bubble Hyptians usually talk with (he's glowing white and yellow!!) and giving him a light-yellow-colored speech bubble would've looked too similar to the godlike gold speech bubble Gods, The Emperor, and Angel Marnia speak with.

So I darkened the text.

For what it's worth I didn't have a problem with his dialogue before, but I'm not a good source because I've pretty much never had difficulty reading colored text.

Bright yellow on white always looks horrible to my eyes, I dunno why.

That's gonna be Iamphsi's permanent text color. But given that he's a minor character at best, he probably won't ever be seen again in the future. Sad to say, because out of all the important Hyptians i've made, Savaddor, Kalros, Kalros' final form, Iddex, Ascelos, and Vith, Iamphsi's design is my favorite. Kalros' final form a close second. Then again, nothing in this comic is set in stone so...

Yeah, I like these guys - and I'm impressed that you've managed to give all three of them their own distinguishing personality traits while also maintaining the overall common theme of "absolutely dopey and naive Hyptians who don't know anything about the physical world".

Yeah, I'm not sure this one exactly did it for me. The punchline didn't really flow, and scheming to replace Kalros as Superintendent doesn't quite seem to fit with what we've seen so far of the Hyptian Three Stooges here, even if it's just for comic relief.

Though I guess what we've seen of them has only been three comics.

I had been assuming they were taking a leaf out of Ser's book and just going along with the flow until they felt otherwise, since they knew they were in no actual danger from these professors.

Where did Ser go, anyway? Is he still arguing bureaucracy with the red one?

Torn looks kinda weird in panel 5. Probably just that it's an unusual angle.

People have made predictions before that were actually true. One prediction was made I haven't even revealed yet, HUNDREDS of comics later, that was actually 100% accurate to what I have in mind

I wasn't expecting to get a cutaway to what Limbaw was doing and/or the larger war in general, so this is kind of cool. Though I'm curious where the blood came from after the Hypt Dragon stomped down in panel 9 if he was the commissar all along.

Also, why do people scream when getting shot by lasguns?

OK, so we know that both Savaddor's ability to survive the corruption of his server and his brain uploading technique are a mystery to the other Hyptian Professors. We know that he seems to like organics and, furthermore, that while he's still kooky he seems to get them more than the others on his side. So what this leads me to thinking is that Savaddor is an organic mind that uploaded to Hypt a long time - and I think we have a clue who he was before that, too.

His attitude in Comic 745 always struck me as kind of odd, given that the experiment he performed on the lizard in it (Gwiratho) didn't seem too unsuccessful; yes, he's dependent on his original body staying alive, but how different is that from a "native" Hyptian being dependent on their server? That makes me think that Savaddor has a more direct connection to Gwiratho than just as an experimental subject - I'm guessing that he was the sorcerer he was a familiar of that he talks about there.

That second part's more speculative, but I'm feeling confident that Savaddor is definitely an upload - or I would be, if it wasn't for this comic living up to its name so often.

...I can't help but wonder if it's a coincidence that this one is going up less than a week before a new Star Wars film.

Edit: Incidentally, I've been genuinely considering doing a fan art thing mashing up WTWU characters with my personal favorite Star Wars poster, mostly as an artistic test. But I can't justify the time expenditure. Maybe over the holidays.
