Cool and/or Explanatory Names Are Overrated - In Character

"An ice monster? Have you seen it?" The first man asks, looking around nervously and reaching for his bow, the other continuing to scan the forest.

[Tjallen]

Looking at Hellen Sperr mutters something in sylvan:

[drack]

Worry seeping into her ever-imaginative thoughts, a note of anxiety enters her voice as she replies "No, but whether you have a haven or not it's probably best we come ashore and find something fast."

Hearing the whispered comment in a foreign language Hellen signs back

He looks down at you, on the shore, slightly confused. "How do you know it was an ice monster then?"

[Tjallen]

Sperr looks to Hellen somewhat doubting the explanation will make much sense.

[drack]

"Well clearly it is, just look at that and that and that." She replies as if it were the most obvious thing in the world, gesturing to two blocks of ice and an open span of water. "Doesn't everyone know the signs of an ice monster? No, you know what, forget it. If you can't see it it's not worth bothering. You say you' were looking for him right? Any idea why he'd be out here?"

[Tjallen]

As Hellen is gesturing at the ice Sperr offers an alternative: "These things could also points to a spellcaster of some sort, yes?""

[drack]

"Yes, it could be a spellcasting ice monster too." Hellen concurs before moving on to the question regarding why the frozen man was there.

[Tjallen]

Sperr nods before turning his attention to the men.

[rweird]

"He wanted to go for a walk and see the island. Probably wanted breathing room too. Him and my companion got in an argument last night." The man seems to try to hide whatever reaction he had to the discussion of the ice monster.

[drack]

"He wanted to see the island badly enough to drag you lot all the way out here for it?" Hellen asks incredulously. "What would make this island so special as that?"

[ben-zayb]

Magnus chimes in, "Was it too much of a heated argument, then?

Countless times I've seen people being far too caught up in emotional turmoil to notice incoming ambushes and traps. Who knows what kind of creatures lurk this mystical place, especially at night?"

He then finds himself being accidentally frightened by his own warnings, and so starts paying more attention to his surroundings just in case.

[rweird]

"We were already on the island. He wanted to go out and see what more of it was like. And it got him killed. I hate this place."

[drack]

"Why would you intentionally go to an island that you hate?" Hellen asks. The more he spoke the less she understood why they were there at all.

[Tjallen]

"Yesterday we wanted to check out the lighthouse, then some natives decided that they didn't want to live and attacked us. So at least he didn't get eaten."

[rweird]

"We obviously didn't know that at the time. We weren't told about the ice monsters, and carnivorous natives? Who would be able to run a lighthouse on this island?"

[Tjallen]

Sperr shrugs."A spellcaster with a thing for making abominations perhaps, after all making ice monsters takes time and effort."

[rweird]

"Okay. We'll try to leave as soon as possible. I don't think anything good could come of remaining on this island." He takes another look around the jungle before turning, making ready to head back the way they came.

[Tjallen]

"Why are you here in the first place? I mean deserted islands are almost always dangerous."

[rweird]

"No, they aren't. Deserted islands are harmless if you have food and water, but it seems this island isn't deserted. We thought this deserted island would be a nice place to visit. It seems we were wrong on both accounts."

[ben-zayb]

"Oh! By the way...have you been anywhere near the lighthouse? If you haven't encountered anyone else in this island, then taking your route towards the lighthouse sounds like a good idea.

I can't bear the thought of risking my companions' lives again!", Magnus hastily inquired before the men leaves them.

[rweird]

"No, we haven't walked near the lighthouse. We landed perhaps halfway between here and the lighthouse."

[drack]

"Well in either case we'll help escort you back to your boat, after all we have Magnus, a powerful mage protecting us. Certainly he could fend off any ice minster." Why she says it with such confidence that it must be true.

[rweird]

The man's eyes narrow when Helen mentions Magnus is a powerful mage. "Suit yourselves… Though I thought he didn't want to risk anyone's lives."

[drack]

"My father's brother once said, 'There is no risk in traveling together for safety.' Would you disagree?" Hellen asks with concern as she tries to think as to how this might invoke danger.

[rweird]

"On an island with ice monsters, together or apart, I'd think there is risk, but suit yourselves."

[drack]

...and Hellen did suit herself, wandering through the forest with the strangers, blissfully ignorant of the dangers that may yet be lurking about.

[Tjallen]

Sperr looks at Magnus as he climbs onto Sper's back:"Someone is bound to end up dead before the day is over, you know that right?"

[ben-zayb]

Magnus looks back with amusement, and whispers to Sperr. "Sure thing! Even without conflicts in the world, mortals can only live for so long."

He begins following the rest close to Hellen and Sperr but still keeping an eye on the strangers. "Let's just hope that it's not someone who can help us."

[Tjallen]

Sperr looks at Magnus, surprise clear on his face. "Huh."
