"(whoah...)" Lucas mouths silently at the sight of the huge serpent. Glancing back at Flynn, he looks meaningfully down at Pilip, and then back the snake. Holding a finger up to his lips for the others, he turns and gingerly attempts to follow Lee around the path.

As the party sneaks by, beside the path, the large snake's head pans and follows the group's every move. After several tense moments, the group reaches the game trail on the other side of the snake, and resumes their trek. The snake settles back into a relaxed coil in the sun as the party rounds a bend nearby.
The rest of the day's travel passes uneventfully. Assuming accurate scale, based on Lee's reading of the map and their travel rate, he determines that the party will reach the monastery less than an hour before nightfall.

The company makes camp, about an hour after passing the snake- still some 3 hours travel from the monastery marked on the map. In the occasional gaps in the trees, the unmistakable blueish points of Droskar's Crag can be seen in the distance as the sun settles behind its foothills.
The night passes uneventfully, and the party wakes well rested. Lee has no trouble trapping a few hares which he spit roasts for the evening meal.
Spoiler: OOCA healing check (from someone unhurt), and/or a profession(herbalist) check from Kith in particular are both worth an extra 1 HP overnight. Any leftover spells would be well-used to take the edge off before you sleep.
Please make any rolls in the IC thread before describing your actions in the monastery. Things have potential to get hairy quickly once we go inside, and I want HP totals clearly settled beforehand.
The morning dawns, bright and dewy. An uncharacteristically early crisp coolness pervades the forest as the party travels the remaining distance. Droskar's Crag grows until it dominates the northern skyline.

Sitting squat at the foot of the imposing mountain, a ruined monastery comes into view between ancient gnarled darkwood trees. Made of simple stone blocks, worn smooth with the passage of time, the once stout building is clearly falling apart. Sections of the slanted shale roof have collapsed, and portions of the outer wall have crumbled. Weeds and wild thorn plants run rampant across the clearing surrounding the place, leaving only the slightest indication of a path that leads to the ruined front doors. The doors sit agape, their hinges having rusted beyond use in the years since its abandonment. Beyond, an overgrown yard lies behind the shadows of a small watchtower.

As the party makes camp Flynn goes around helping the injured eat, stay well hydrated, and get comfortable, following the lead of anyone more skilled in the healing arts should they help.

Lucas shrugs, not as interested in the architecture as his friend. "All I know is it's a long way to come for some mushrooms! The sooner we grab 'em, the sooner we can bring them back to Laurel. What do you think, Lee - you and I scout it out first?"
When the group is ready to enter the ruins, Lucas walks a bit out in front, making every effort to be as quiet as possible.'

"Indeed, quite an impressive monastery. Whoever ran it must have been powerful, once." Merek says, as the ruins come into view horizon. Once the party gets closer, Merek starts walking more quietly, keeping an eye out for any danger.

Sure, lets you and I take a walk around the exterior to see if there isn't another way in besides the front door. If there is something still in there, our ability to surprise it would be diminished by going through the front door.

Lee (and the party?) skirt the monastery, leaving a wide berth, for safety's sake. You quickly note that the outer wall appears to be 3 feet thick (sometimes as much as 5 feet), which somewhat explains how the building has lasted without anyone to maintain it for as long as it has.
Still, without getting too close, the party quickly discovers that, aside from the dilapidated doors, there are three other possible means of entry:
1: The center of the eastern wall has collapsed inward, leaving plenty of room for a person to walk comfortably into what appears to be a courtyard.
2: The north-eastern corner of the wall has deteriorated tremendously, revealing what must once have been a usable room on the inside of the compound. Nothing remains but rubble strewn about the floor, and surprisingly, the roof overhangs the area.
3: Lastly, on the southern part of the western wall, there is a small gap where it appears the ground beneath the wall caved in a few feet. There is room for one medium sized creature to climb through the gap (imagine a small "v" near the ceiling- ample rubble forms a crude ramp, climb check DC 0) into the building beyond. Without getting closer, it is impossible to tell what lies within.
Spoiler: OOCYou guys made it rather unclear as to who was scouting where in what capacity. In the interest of not overly punishing you for Flynn's spectacular fail stealth check, and the vague terminology regarding who was planning on going where, this is the most information you can safely glean. If Lee really wants to get close and inspect the openings, either decide who is going with and roll again, or pick an area and lead in.

Lee carefully begins stepping through the rubble of the northeastern wall (Map updated), making his way to the closed door at the corner of the room without making a sound. As Lucas nears the area, he stops short, wide-eyed.

Lucas waves his hands wildly, but silently, trying to get Lee's attention. When he has it he gestures upwards at the ceiling with his spear, indicating the sleeping bats. Stepping extra gingerly, now, he tries to cross the room and join Lee at the door before listening at it for any sounds.

"We'll be needin' torches to deal with that."
Lee takes out a torch from his pack, holds it up to the party, and then waves them forward with his other hand. As they approach, he lights the torch.

Looking at the others and following Lucus' gestures Flynn sees the bats and scrunches his face up in confusion. He sees the others put away their weapons and pulling out torches despite the light of day, and shrugs before doing the same as he follows the rest towards the entrance.
"Why do we need torches? Are bats afraid of fire or something?" he asks in a hushed whisper as he gets close enough to be heard.
