Critique Request: Little Chain Fury (A Halfling Barbarian build that works!)
(don't know how to generate tables yet so I'm just posting a screenshot here)
Highlights:
- Feral Strongheart Halfling (Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting): Only major difference here is that they trade in their +1 to all saves bonus for an extra bonus feat. (Plus Feral Template from Savage Species)
- Combat Style - Strong Arm (Crystal Keep, Alternate Classes, Page 100 of the PDF) alternate options to Two Weapon Fighting or Ranged Fighting chains. Offers Power Attack, Improved Trip and Improved Critical.
- Wolf Totem Barbarian (Unearthed Arcana): Substitution levels that gives up Uncanny Dodge, Trap Sense and Improved Uncanny Dodge for Improved Trip and Track.
- Whirling Frenzy (Unearthed Arcana): A barbarian with this variant form of rage doesn’t gain the normal bonuses when he enters a rage. Instead, when a barbarian with whirling frenzy enters a rage, he temporarily gains a +4 bonus to Strength and a +2 dodge bonus to Armor Class and on Reflex saves. While in a whirling frenzy, the barbarian may make one extra attack in a round at his highest base attack bonus, but this attack takes a −2 penalty, as does each other attack made that round. This penalty applies for 1 round, so it also affects attacks of opportunity the barbarian might make before his next action.
- Master of Chains (Sword and Fist: A Guidebook to Monks and Fighters): Technically this is a 3.0 prestige class but is fully backwards combatible with 3.5.
Any suggestions for changes/improvements will be greatly appreciated :DLast edited by PangolinPie; 2014-07-04 at 12:52 PM.

Well, actually per Wizards' Rules Reference, Master of Chains was updated into 3.5 as the Exotic Weapon Master. Unless DM fiat or weird table rules, you're basically taking the same PrC twice.
Here's the link to the table so you can see for yourself.Last edited by Kazudo; 2014-07-04 at 12:40 PM.

Wow...calling that a revision makes no sense...I never would have believed it. Its pretty much a COMPLETELY different class and theme all together.

Well, and Exotic Weapon Master ate a few classes IIRC.
Master of Chains and Weapon Master to name the first two that come to mind.

Well my GM said he was fine with it. So other than that...any other critiques?

Are you aware about the Tribal Halfling barbarian sub. from the Dragon #342 ?
1st level - Halfling rage - while raging, become one size category larger
3rd level - Intimidating Presence +1, replace the Trap Sense
5th level - Bigger than life (count as Medium-sized for Intimidation checks, replace the IUD)

Why Monkey Grip, how Weapon Spec etc, what/where Twohanded Power Strike.
ShurikVch: He already traded Trap Sense and Imp Uncanny Defense for an ACF.

Hm...would the Tribal Halfling barbarian levels be a better choice than the Wolf Totem Barbarian? I took it to get the free Improved Trip feat to qualify for Master of Chains (which is very feat heavy).

I would drop the last two levels of Barbarian for more Fighter and swap combat reflexes at 6 for extra rage, and then grab it as the fighter bonus feat, will also prevent multiclass penalties.
78% of DM's started their first campaign in a tavern. If you're one of the 22% that didn't, copy and paste this into your signature.
Mine started in a Dwarven church of Pelor, now with a moon!
Also, note to self, sacrificing KFC in a small apartment is not a good idea.

You calculated your saves wrong. You jump from +2/+0/+0 with one level of fighter to +4/+4/+0 with one level of ranger added. It should be +4/+2/+0. So your Reflex should be 2 lower than it is now.
