Flaming weapon question
Does a flaming weapon deal fire damage or is the extra damage the only thing considered fire damage

Only the extra d6 is fire damage.

Assuming you mean a regular weapon with the flaming property then only the extra damage is fire damage. Something like the flame blade spell does only fire damage though.
