Why would you want a cat if he can't sleep in your bed? That's half of the enjoyment, having a small ball of cuteness and warmth sleeping somewhere. Try it, you won't regret it. If you and the missus get... frisky he'll move. Or watch in silent fascination. If you want a kid, it's great practice in not smothering something small in the bed.

I will get you pictures. Promise. They just won't be great quality.

This is my first cat that's mine, though I grew up with cats that were my parents. He stayed in the bed with us most of last night. He's so nice. Very curious about everything and always watching us. He's really cute. :3 In the morning, he army crawled along the middle of the bed, got on my chest, and headbutted me good morning. His first day with us and I'm already melting. He was a stray in my mother in law's neighborhood, and we got him before the kids around there could mess with him, which apparently their known to do...

He is Mr. Oscar Wombat Wildecat! I am very much jelly. I'm tempted to get myself a cat after I move back to Finland, but... Too much money for now. Even if it's a rescue cat.

I think he's already telling who's the new boss in the house. You and the Mrs can go along working on being equal partners, but remember, the cat will always be above you.

There are many different strains of influenza (thousands), and the yearly flu vaccine can only protect against so many (around 5). The researchers try to predict which strains will be the most likely to hit your area and protect against them. As you can see, there's still plenty of chance to be infected by one of the many different strains. But, having the shot will partially help you against other strains and greatly help you against the worst/most likely strains.

Guys I work in the kitchen of a bar that sells food, I'm not some fancy super chef. I cook chicken wings 80% of the time and I'm one of two people who work in the kitchen on Wednesdays

But yeah, I shouldn't be working if I'm sick. But Mom doesn't care because she works when she's sick, so therefor everyone else should too.

Have you tried explaining the concept of germs to her?

And I thought poutine was the dish of choice in Canada?

It's all lies! It's just a ruse so that The Man can inject you with their mind-controlling nanobots

I have heard somewhere that there are new strains of flu pretty much every season, and the shot that might protect you from flu at the start of Winter might not protect you from flu at the end of Winter. I'm not sure how factual that is, though.

Speaking of flu season...I really do need to go get my flu shot soon and get the kids in as well. Too much going on to afford getting really sick. Plus, I am likely going to have lots of germ exposure this fall/winter from my internship. So I suppose prevention.

Ugh, internships. Valuable experience they may be, but it sucks if they're unpaid. Which most are, even though technically they can't be unless they meet some very specific criteria...

Has she considered, I don't know, closing temporarily?

In the US, it's actually illegal to prepare food commercially while you have the flu. Is it different up North?

I never said I have the flu. My throat's sore and I'm all sniffling, but that's it. It's likely just a cold.

And she's not sick with the flu either. We don't need to do something as drastic as closing, someone could just cover for me.

I don't think I announced it yet, but I've gotten into two entrance exams for unis in Finland. And one of them is just the place where I want to get into, so I feel super lucky. Now I just need to step up my game and ace the entrance exam - my starting points aren't too good thanks to average and slightly below average grades from back in school, but I still have the chance to ace the entrance exam. Or at least I hope so.

1 exam, 2 assignments and 1 presentation down. Now I just need to study for and write one final exam and I'll done for the week. Who knows, I might even get a weekend! Fun fact is, I'm almost convinced it's Saturday today, because I'm at home and only working at a sorta-leasury pace, so it must obviously be weekend.

I'm wishing really hard that the next exam will go well, though. The one I had this Monday was... Well, I learned that my sense of personal worth depends a bit more on my grades than I'm entirely comfortable with. That, plus a sense of not getting a fair examination. The exam was too short, for every error you stopped to correct, you forsaked another question ahead in time. For me, who was stressed out, sleep-deprived and overworked, that prety much spelled instant failure for me, especially after having spent half an hour tracking down an error caused by accidently making a 30 a 20 when copying a matrix on the first problem...
Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...

Never take the damn things anymore. I trust my grandmother's advice: hot rooibos, shot of whiskey, fresh lemon juice and a teaspoon or two of honey every night. Dunno about the flu, but it does wonders for me
That's because there are lots of differ- and Rawhide's already gotten it.

Sounds like a good treatment to me.

Pfft, don't be ridiculous. Injecting the nanobots is completely unnecessary. They're everywhere already - you breathe a couple in every few seconds.

Truth. Favorite Bdubs sauce? Mine's probably the habanero mango. Can't beat sweet and spicy.
