HafH- Lee's Dream

Lee sinks down further into the water for a while, only coming back up to speak.
"I have a friend named Rey who is a Huldra. He's been the same wide-eyed peasant boy looking for friends and chasing humanity for a thousand years. I...I can't do that. I don't think I'd be able to go that long without snapping. But what scares me is that I don't even know if I could snap. Rey's been lonely for a thousand years and he's been fine. He shouldn't be fine! He said that fairies aren't real people, and I know what he meant. We can't ever change. We can learn, but we can't change. " he removes a hoof from the water, examining it.
"I can get my hands back, but they'd just be a lie. And my 'real' hooves aren't much better. The saying goes that I'm just a dream, and I'm terrified to think it might be literal. So yes. I want to be real again. Besides, if I don't soon Gwen will get herself killed trying. And my cat says I stink like this. I can't have that." he says with a weak chuckle.

"Cats do have a peculiar tendency toward being insightful. I've never been able to figure it out. But that is what I needed to know: you want to be fixed. I tell you, I will fix you. I'm just trying to teach your sister something while I do so."

Hm, Lee is unusually mature, and Gwen seems unusually immature. Coincidence?

Lee nickers a bit at that.
"Maybe, but sadly not even my cat had any insight on how to de-fairy someone. Uh, whatever works for you. I'm...sorry for doubting you. I was kinda scared when she said she had something lined up. I'm sure you can tell why. But you seem to have her best interests in mind. Or else you're a really great liar. What's your-err, what do you go by?" he asks, belatedly remember the rule of immortals and names.

And it might be less that he's mature and more that he's careful, and has just gotten quite used to getting frustrated at his reckless sister. Or maybe he's just had a lot of thinking time when he was banished to the shed for the month it took him to figure out glamours. Iriel can probably tell that there's something odd about him. Because after all, he never lost all of his name.

"Iriel. It's little more than a series of sounds to refer to me by. You couldn't claim it if you wanted to. And I can say that I have her best interests in mind, even if it may sometimes not seem like it. I do want to fix you, as I said. I don't see why some beings steal names anyway. A name is nothing but noise given meaning. You'd be better of stealing prepositions if you want those."

Lee nods.
"Well, uh, thanks then, Iriel." he says simply.

"You are welcome," and with that the dream should fall apart, and Lee returns to his normal nightly hallucinations.

The Hidden Mansion

Tep chuckles and sets the book down in front of Romeo. It should be perfectly legible.
"I don't remember you sneaking a peek over my shoulder. Was it back before you met me? Because without my express permission you'd have needed to use my glasses to read it. Which would probably be hard since they're sized for this muzzle of mine."

Romeo smiles as he thumbs through the recipe on the demon's book. "Before we met. It was in the alchemist lab and I did use your glasses. I also took a potion to prevent mental damage right beforehand, so that probably conflicted.”

Rolling up his sleeves, the apprentice wizard starts preparing ingredients like some combination between alchemist and chef.

The recipe itself doesn't require that much preparation, it's more of the need to get the weaves of magic into each individual fiber of the garment. Speaking of...
"So, did you have a cloak you were going to use as the base, or did you want me to make it, or...?" he asks.

"Well! I should get to it then. Nice meeting you, Kate!" Fortuna says before Transforming back into human shape and heading for the kitchen.

She has a job to do!

And her job here is done.

Home Away From Home

Lee sits in his backyard, focusing hard on the ground. He's been able to figure out how to glamour himself, but he knows he should be able to glamour water wherever he wants, and it's just not working! So the silly horse is just staring at the ground, looking thoughtful.

"No, no, quite the contrary, they're all good folk. Even if the poor boy is some sort of horse thing now, he seems to be acting the same." If Lee looks, he'll see Cinnamon jump to the top of a wood fence, balancing atop it even if he's something of a big cat. He's talking to someone on the other side of the fence, "Really, he doesn't smell half as bad as She did, and the smell is much less strong overall. It's no breath of fresh air, but it's better than, say, a fat dog."

Lee snorts and stands up, walking over to his cat.
"That's because I'm fresh water! Who're you talking to, Cinnamon?" asks the kelpie with a snort. He hopes it isn't too insulting that he finds his cat so amusing, even doing normal things.

Cinnamon hops down, and a moment later an elegant Delcatty leaps over the fence.

"Oh, just showing a good friend of mine around. Lee, meet Nikia."

Nikia makes a kind of trilling call, seemingly happy enough to meet Lee.

Lee would smile, but his lips don't really work that way.
"Pleased to meet you, Nikia." he turns to his cat.
"You sure get around a lot." he says to Cinnamon. He'd add "for a cat who the vet calls overweight" but he doesn't want to embarrass him in front of a lady.

"I know it's not obvious, but people unknowingly make a lot of things cat-friendly. We're more clever than you give us credit for, and here in the Nexus where cats actually think, well..." Cinnmon thinks for a minute. "It's rather like that video game. The one with the gratuitous parkour."

"Hey, I've always given you plenty of credit. And trust me, that description really doesn't narrow it down.
Oh but for the record Cinnamon, you won't have to worry about my smelly self for too much longer. Gwen found someone reasonable who might be able to help me out. I spoke with...her. She actually seems as close to sane as you'd expect. So I'm sure you'll be happy about that. Gwen just has to beat the snot out of a certain goblin to get my name back. Which is much more dangerous and I'm hoping she'll get someone competent to handle it." he says, slowly getting more serious.

Nikia looks at Cinnamon and meows confusedly.

"What kind of entity is it, precisely? Will we have to worry about it taking Gwen's humanity for getting yours back? Bah, I should likely talk to her about it any which way. If nothing else, I want to be there when that foul thing gets her just deserts."

[Deathkeeper]

Lee would shrug but he doesn't really have shoulders. Waving his tail will have to do.
"I'm not sure, though she showed up as one of those little water critters. Uh, with the little legs? Uh...trilobite? That sounds familiar."
Eighth grade biology!
"She dodged the question, but she kept saying that she was taking it slow to try to teach Gwen not to be so reckless, so she didn't seem like a terrible person.
But still, if all goes well it'll be one less thing for Gwen to obsess over. I'd plan to throw a party, but I doubt I'll be in shape to do that." he says jokingly.

"Put that party off until you're fixed, and I dare say your shape will be perfect."

Nikia... giggles? It sounds like a giggle.

"In any case, you seem frustrated. Missing the indoors?"

[Deathkeeper]

Lee shakes his head.
"Just killing time figuring out how some of this magic stuff works, but if things get under way I don't suppose it'll matter much.
But now I know you're just trying to make me feel better. Since when do you call anything about humans perfect, hmm?"
he says. Cinnamon is a very nice cat, but he is a cat. And that giggle is giving him the distinct impression that he's missing a joke.

The Hidden Mansion:

He slaps his forehead with the ball of his palm and sighs. Of course he would need a cape. It's not like he was going to smelt it out of eagle feathers and crushed minerals. "Would you please?" he says smiling, probably biting back some self-disparaging remarks.

Nikia looks at Cinnamon, the smile and look pushing him to retort.

"Even at the best of times, perfection is relative."

Snerk! Sounds like Nikia doesn't buy that.

The Hidden Mansion

Tep smiles and nods, clapping his hands before repeating the spell from earlier, producing a simple but well-cut sky-blue cape which drops into his hands.
"Suitable for you?" he asks.

Lee tilts his head a bit.
"I don't think I get you. But whatever. With any luck this might all get finished within a week or two. I'd almost hope it all gets over soon. I want to stop worrying about all of this. Unless there's any more surprises after that, I suppose. But I'd like to think my luck's better than my sister's." he says with a chuckle.

That time the snerk is in Lee's direction.

"You're going to have to convince us of that, Lee," Cinnamon says, "After all, she has someone who has agreed to help her, hm? She found help for you. She has magic classes. You've having trouble with... whatever this is."

Lee shakes his head.
"That's because I don't want it. Magic's nice to use when it's handed to you, but given that I don't actually know how all this works, I've been taking it slow. I haven't rushed into trying to have it all like she does. And don't forget that she still's still on levitating cups. She just talked to other people. I've already had Rey for that.
And I'm trying to bring something from a dream into the back yard. It's really not easy." he says, indignant.

Nikia takes a deep breath, there's a poof of smoke, and there's a stuffed doll sitting in front of Nikia.

Cinnamon just lets that sit there.

Lee sputters. "I...you...what? That's totally not the same! And you don't learn that the day you evolve either!"
Unless she was born with it as an egg move.
In which case she was well, born with it.

Nikia laughs. She then makes more cat noises.

"Nikia asks just what you're trying to conjure."

[Deathkeeper]

Lee snorts.
"Oh. It's my spring. In Tir Na Nog I have a small, flowing natural spring. I'm already wet all the time, but it still would be nice..." he says, trailing off.
Nikia probably noticed the kelpie's infinite-sweating powers already.

Nikia hmms and then mews and meows about something at length.

"Uh... 'Dreams have an ephemeral quality, a certain disconnect from reality. Therefore, it stands to reason that in order to bring something from a dream into reality, you have to somehow make that disconnect.'" Cinnamon pauses. "What does that actually mean?"
