    Default 2014 Halloween

So I made a kiteshield and a sword.
I am still not sure whether I should wear a hoodie, a cardboard helm (with a rag on top), and possible find some materials for kettle helmet.
Edit: So what are you wearing for Halloween?

I found a Harley Quinn stylized dress as Hot Topic (yeah, go ahead and judge me) that really flattered me and so I went ahead with it.
Red and black jester hat, the domino mask from my Robin costume last year, Harley Quinn stylized kneesocks I'd had before, a blonde wig, some white face paint, black lipstick, some hella eyeliner and mascara
    Wedge-heeled booties.

My avatar and I are dressed up as the same character

Going to a costume party tomorrow with some people in the cast of a show I was in.

I bought a custom coat and robe of Saruman the White from one of the costumers, who does custom requests, then crafted the staff. (That part was surprisingly easy.) So yeah! It's fun, and the first year in a while in which I actually have a reason to dress up.

Well, I'm not gonna be celebrating Halloween tonight.

I made a sign outside my door that said: "There's no candy here. Move Along." With a stormtrooper helmet in the center of it.
We don't have any candy for trick-or-treaters anyways.

I, as the Doctor, got into a swordfight with Prince Philip and Flynn Rider, wielding only a spoon. (Well... Flynn actually had a frying pan)

I'm dressed up as an overworked engineering student. Messy, frazzled hair; sunken-in, dead eyes; old and torn t-shirt and jeans.

We only got one trick-or-treater this year. That little kid got a nice handful of candy, though.

No costume this year, and didn't feel like going anywhere anyway. Next year the mail shirt will be complete, I'll have gotten a liner* and aventail fitted up on the helmet, and I'll have been able to remake the shield as something slightly less hideous. Maybe even a new boss.

Basically I don't think the costume counts unless it weighs thirty pounds, clanks and sets of metal detectors in adjacent states.

*Currently I'm thinking a double-thick nalbinding hat stuffed with roving, lightly felted, then stitched in place around the helmet rim.
Blood-red were his spurs i' the golden noon; wine-red was his velvet coat,
When they shot him down on the highway,
Down like a dog on the highway,
And he lay in his blood on the highway, with the bunch of lace at his throat.

I went out for dinner with some friends. Said friends could be divided over the course of the evening into those who complimented me on my costume, and those who were aware that's just how I dress now. To be fair, I think at least some of the former were joking.

I saw several people tonight where I was pondering whether they were wearing a costume. But I like people who wear creative/interesting clothes on a daily basis, so I'm not judging

I didn't bother to dress up since my real self is already pretty terrifying: a 30-something office worker with PMS and chronic sleep deprivation.

Went out to see some live music, had a really fun time. Only one of the band members in the early set (out of about 15 people) dressed up, and he was in an extremely shiny silver space-suit costume so he really stuck out. The band leader referred to him as "Captain Terrific" and the percussionist tried to use his helmet as a drum...

Went to work as a Goth (Emo not Visigoth).

I had a black cowboy hat and told everyone I was Goth Brooks.

    Guess I'm boring.

I didn't even know trick or treating was allowed in this area to be honest.

Just a heads up, goths and emos are slightly different. If you're bored, the wikipedia page on the gothic subculture is not too bad. Not sure about emo. Admittedly, I do not know a great deal about emo.

Aw, lame that nobody got it.
