Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
There are only so many ways of carrying a lance, so Anthony rides carrying it in his hand, and, while at it, has the shield ready in the other. When he sees the orc, he frees right hand for a moment, holding the lance under armpit and over forearm (this seems to be a much practiced action). Says, in a loud voice - "Menyatakan penuangan sihir baju besi!" (which seem to be magical words to those in the know) - then adds - "Surrender or die!" (which seem to be said more with a "standard procedure" attitude than as an actual proposal) - pats the horse and readies the lance pointing it at the orc.
SpoilerAs for initiative, I think classically it's rider's roll only, with mount acting on that same initiative count. This causes it's own problems with better mounts and/or special initiative actions, so doing one roll with different modifiers from next time on would be just fine.

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
At the sight of the sentry orc reaching for it's weapon Temiryl begins to utter the lengthy words and gestures of a magical spell. Anthony does also, reaching down to touch his warhorse at the cessation of his spellcasting.
The brutish orc leaps into action, greasy braids flying as it hurls itself from the porch yelling in its harsh guttural language. Reaching for a barbed javelin it is suddenly stopped in its tracks as a blast of eldritch energy hurtles from Fintan's outstretched arms and slams into the orc's chest. Spun a full 360 degrees the weapon falls from its grasp as it tries to steady itself. Temiryl's spellcasting comes to fruition and the bestial creature tugs at its hair and rubs at its eyes before falling to its knees and keeling over in a heap, comatose.
Spoiler: KragKrag recognizes the orcish language. It simply yelled an orcish war cry before leaping to it's attack.

As the orc catches him off-guard and he hears its yell, Savin hefts his own axe as he sees him jump off the porch.
Growling deep in his throat, he rushes forward as he sees a blast of some kind of energy hit the orc just before it slumps and falls.
Slowing his pace as he stops just near the orc, he looks back at the rest of his party, not unlike a dog who has had its bone taken away from it, before he turns back to the cabin and its surroundings, pulling one of his javelins out.

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
Advancing cautiously in case there are more hostile humanoids you all clearly hear shouts responding from inside. Within seconds the door bursts open and two more of the wild humanoids charge out with their axes gleaming, eyes full of hatred and bloodlust. Another two come from the rear of the lodge, perhaps trying to surprise the party but giving themselves away with their cries of battle-lust.
Even as the murderous creatures charge at Savin, Anthony's lance lashes out from the side. The unseen horseman catches one attacker in the side of its neck as it hurtles by, sending the orc tumbling to the ground its lifeblood spurting. The others are unfazed, swinging axes and reaching for javelins as they howl for blood!

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
The mystic dwarf advances forward as his fists harden and crack like grating granite. Even as the wild orc takes its attention momentarily off Savin to consider the dwarf's threat the Coldlander buries his axe deep into the orcs stomach and the evil humanoid collapses in half around the weapon, guts spilling everywhere as it quickly dies.
Arrows and eldritch blasts fly down the side of the lodge at the remaining two marauders but the creatures duck and weave as they leap over logs swinging their axes in evident hunger for violence.
Sadly for the lead orc the horseman's lance catches it in the side as it leaps around the corner, catching it and pinning the dying creature to the ground. The last orc, unaware of the fate of its companions, runs forward past its comrades bleeding body ready to cleave humans. Seeing every one of its companions in various stages of bleeding and dismemberment it equally quickly howls in infantile terror and turns to run, narrowly avoiding an attack from Anthony as it does.

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
Anthony rides around the corner and then around the retreating orc, cutting him from the most direct escape route, but otherwise not standing in anyone's way. Then, pointing a bloody lance at the orc, Anthony asks him a question, with an intonation that maximally clearly suggests it's a question, and let the orc, if he does not know the language, guess the details from the context pointing at him... "Surrender?"

Seeing that the remaining orc seems to be accounted for, Temiryl rushes over to the orc she felled with her Sleep spell. Holding her breath against the stench of its unwashed body, she quickly divests the sleeping orc of its weaponry and, using a spare bowstring, binds its hands tightly behind its back.

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
Seeing itself surrounded and with no chance to flee from the armed horseman the orc hesitates. Then it spies the hated dwarf and its bestial nature overrides what little sense it may have had. The orc swings its axe and hurls itself at Krag in an act of final devotion to Gruumsh....<crack!> the sound is sickening as the dwarfs rock-like fist connects with the orc's forehead, punching it so hard it flies through the air and strikes the wall of the lodge, collapsing in a mangled heap on the ground.

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
"Oh. That was impressive. Good thing we have another one in good shape. As for these..." - Anthony dismounts near the smacked orc and continues in a loud enough voice for everyone to hear - "...would you prefer to have more or less of these orcs? I'm dealing with them one way or another, so speak right now."
SpoilerThen, depending on everyone's preferences:
1. People want more orcs or opinion differ: heal checks to stop bleeding and keep some more orcs alive (1d20+1)[4] (1d20+1)[10] (1d20+1)[16] (1d20+1)[14] (1d20+1)[6]
2. Strong unanimous opinion to have more orcs: the above healing rolls and up to 1 Minor Healing if healing checks seem to be insufficient or too slow
3. People want less orcs or there is no preference: coup de grace all bleeding orcs before dragging to the heap
(in any case, Anthony leaves no orc in nondeterministic state of "maybe won't bleed to death")
After that, will search all the corpses and captives taking 20 for total of 21.Last edited by u-b; 2015-01-07 at 05:24 AM.

Re: Ghostfoot's Tearing of the Weave IC
Bursting into the lodge you're faced with a ransacked room. Furniture, bedding and hunting tools lie broken and pushed to the edges of the room. The occasional splash of dried blood shows a fight must have occurred here and an open trunk to one side is overflowing with looted and bloodstained armour and weaponry.
In the center of the room lies a man. Severely beaten and bloody he is bound tightly around his arms and legs with heavy rope. As you enter he groans and opens one blood-crusted eye "You got the bastards...thank you" He smiles with relief, wincing in pain as he does.
