Well, these are mainly rules. I wouldn't put them in the magic items section at all. At least, not until I write the Alchemist's Cookbook supplement (which probably does belong there).

So im new to d&d but i thaught of something i think is really cool. no name yet, still cant decide. basically its like a lava battleaxe, or greataxe whatever you wanna call it. it does 2d6 slashing damage, gets boosted from two handed proficiency, and roll a 1d4. if it lands on 4 you do the same for fire damage as the slashing you rolled. if 3 or less nothing happens. when you first aqquire this axe a stronger variant of a hellhound is summoned and becomes your companion. if you choose to slay the hound your axe gains a spell i made called infernal storm, which does a 5 foot radius of 2d6 fire damage, and the targets do a dex saving throw. if failed throw the spell does 1d6 explosive damage. if they succeed they take half damage. it has 4 charges in it that replenish when put in fire. the hellhound does come back but only if you put the axe in lava for an equivalent of two long rests. the axe is destroyed if put in the realm of water. what do you think?

I think you need to create your own thread to discuss your idea.
