Uhhh, so I just called the hotel to make a reservation with the group, and they told me that the Trogland Meetup group was set up for the previous weekend, the 19th through the 21st.

According to our hotel co-ordinator, that sounds like last year. The contract says 25th-28th. We'll look into this, though. I can't allow anything to screw up my large scale Munchkin plans for Friday night!!

It is probably best to confirm. I checked the contract for this year, and the dates on it are correct. I'll likely be calling in the next week or so to reserve my own room as well, and I can double check then myself.

FYI, I called again tonight and was able to make a reservation for the proper nights with the group this time. It must have just been a mixup with last years dates last time. So another room off the block is taken.

Thing is sneaking up on us this year.

We're just about a 1.5 months out at this point. This means we've got about 2 weeks before we need to have registration wrapped up. You can still register after May 31st, but we can't guarantee all goodies to be available on late registrations.

Don't forget to mention the Trogland Meetup when booking your room at the hotel, too!

Well, it looks like I won't be able to make it, after all. I just got a job (yay!) and I wouldn't feel comfortable asking for four whole days off two weeks into it, especially because I have to ask for another whole weekend off a month later.

I'm.. actually in about the same situation, except I start my new job a week on the Monday before the Meetup, so there is no way I can get the time off. Also since I'm moving from Florida to Chicago, all of my remaining savings are tapped, so I can't afford a vacation anyway. I should be in a good position to make it next year though, since I should actually have disposable income and such.

Well, it so happens that this year will the 40th anniversary of me circling the sun and my wife is willing to host a meetup/mini-con/birthday party type of thing, assuming enough people are interested. It would be Labor Day weekend in Columbus, Indiana. So is anyone interested?

That could work for me, my birthday falls around Labor Day also (although it is also about when my student loans start repayment... talk about a birthday present). I'll have a better idea of what I can do after I start working and see how my finances go.
