I'm Tabby (please don't call me "Das", that's one of the german versions for "the" xD)
I'm a Player from Germany, playing D&D 3.5 since 2013, my first Character back then was a half drow bard/rogue (just don't ask, he was completly useles, but i liked him anyway, may he rest in peace)
Before D&D I already tried Dark Heresy (40k) and The Dark Eye, but 3.5 was the first System I really enjoyed.

I tried Pathfinder several times, but sadly the groups never lasted long, and right now I'm joining a Shadowrun group, can't tell yet if I like it or not.

I guess that's enough information for now, hope we'll have a good time together :D

Hey. I remembered today playing a PbP game 6 odd years ago which died, but I thoroughly enjoyed it then. I didn't really know what it was as it was just on a sub board of an unrelated forum. It seemed very easy for anyone to join in on, but coming here and looking through the 'finding players' board just feels daunting. I understand it's easiest for everyone to play based on a common system, but having never taken part in a D&D game I don't really know where to go with getting started on this site. Am I expected to have read the 300 page compendium if I say, chose a 3.5 game? Is there an easy TLDR that encompasses what I'm expected to know before getting started on PbP. The stickied 'guide to pbp games' was a bit vague and didn't really know where else to ask.

Good to have found this site though, hope to stick around for a while.

Hello, I am new but have came to lurk once in a long while. My wife is an extremely avid user of the forums and I've learned of them through her.

I am running several campaigns at the same time, one of which is over 200 sessions at this point. I had access to people in RL and through messengers to bounce my ideas off but some are less available now than before. I will likely attempt to pick brains in the World Building or Roleplay forums. I tend to create "encyclopedias" for settings before I even run them, and I expand those pedias even further as I play. This includes creating a library of music that will suit the setting, so I may also seek advice from people on that as well.
