Hello, I'm new here and to pen and paper games in general.

I recently was gifted a collection of Pathfinder books and after reading them I think I am in love with the game. I can't seem to find anyone on my campus that wants to play so I decided to ask some of my friends online you recommended this place. I've read most of these books but i'd like to start off slow if I can, the amount of options is just dizzying in this game.

I hope we can all have fun together!

    Greetings everyone.

Im Chance, but I go by Wolf.

    I'm a bit rusty with D&D..
Haven't ever played D&D online before.. I'm used to pen and paper version.

I am familiar with Post 2 Play.
Just not D&D Post 2 Play..

However, I am looking forward to learning.

    hi!
I randomly lurked from time to time, brought here by weird questions I had about this or that. after about a year I finally just said heck with it and made an account.
... shamefully, I don't actually play DnD of any edition, although I'm trying to get into it I don't actually know anyone nearby who plays it :(
I like drawing, and writing, and raining holy hellish misery down upon my OCs.

The Antiphoenix is a heron of enormous size. Its blue & black plumage (highlighted by occasional tongues of purple shadow-flame coming out from between the feathers) is beautiful beyond compare, its nest is composed of the dead woods & bone; even its droppings are horrendous. It speaks only in dead languages, and smells like the memory of old ash in an old, cold hearth, and like myrrh. Its song is the most horrid sound that exist in this world. The Antiphoenix is a predator; it will fight with anything for no reason or when an obviously hostile intruder gets too close to its nest. The Antiphoenix dwells in high hills, sometimes in the shadows of mountains or within them, where its song is said by some to cause earthquakes.

    Combat

Control Temperature (Su): As a swift action, an Antiphoenix can lower the temperature by -10 degrees in a 100-foot-radius centered on itself. Subsequent uses of this ability stack, so it could, for example, lower the temperature by a total of -20 degrees after two rounds.

Animate Cold Fire (Su): As a standard action, an Antiphoenix can transform a normal fire into an equivalently-sized fire elemental under its control. After 10 minutes, the elemental reverts to a normal fire. All attacks and spells, and spell-like abilities deal cold damage instead of fire.

Breath Weapon (Su): Once per round, 50-foot cone, damage 3d10 Cold, Reflex DC 27 half. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Control Flames (Su): As a standard action, antiphoenix can pyrokinetically control the intensity or movements of one fire source. This functions exactly like the control flames psionic power, treating the Antiphoenix as a 20th-level manifester for determining the power's effects. The fire will instead deal cold damage instead of fire.

Defensive Aura (Su): An Antiphoenix has a +5 deflection bonus to Armor Class. This ability is always in effect.

Frost Storm (Su): Twice per day, an Antiphoenix can unleash a deadly cloud of frost in a 20-foot-high, 15-foot-radius spread. Each creature in the area takes 40d6 points of cold damage (Reflex DC 27 half). The save DC is Constitution-based.

Freeze Weapons (Ex): Any metal weapon that strikes an Antiphoenix must succeed on a DC 27 Fortitude save or freeze into a chunk of ice. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Spell-Like Abilities: Always active—detect good, detect magic, protection from good; at will— Power word Death Forever: As Power Word-Kill, but no limit on total hit point number and no resurrection for victims. Last Word: Will Save DC 25 or never speak again. blindness, blink, blur, color spray, inflict light wounds, dancing lights, find the path, find traps, fire seeds (using drops of its own blood rather than holly berries as a material component; no acorn grenades), harm, invisibility, misdirection, energy drain, poison, polymorph self, produce flame, cause fear, bestow curse, see invisibility; 1/day—incendiary cloud, Create Greater undead, pyrotechnics, summon nature’s ally IX, veil, wall of fire. Caster level 20th; save DC 15 + spell level. After 10 rounds of ritual and preparation—dismissal, dispel good, dispel magic. Caster level 20th; save DC 15 + spell level.

Spells: As a 20th level sorcerer, DC 32. - Spells Known (6/10/10/10/9/9/9/9/8/8; 0 - daze, detect magic, Detect Poison, ghost sound, prestidigitation, ray of frost, read magic, resistance, Silent Portal; 1st - cause fear, change self, charm person, chill touch, Blacklight; 2nd - blur, misdirection, claws of darkness, shadow mask, shadow spray; 3rd - hold person, lesser shadow tentacle, major image, vampiric touch; 4th - enervation, fear, greater invisibility, phantasmal killer; 5th - greater shadow tentacle, nightmare, seeming, Grimwald's graymantle; 6th - mislead, permanent image, programmed image; 7th - finger of death, shadow walk, vision; 8th - demand, mass charm, sympathy; 9th - energy drain, wail of the banshee, weird.

Shriek (Ex): Once per minute, an Antiphoenix can utter a war shriek that forces every opponent within 30 feet to succeed at a Will save (DC 22) or be slowed (as the slow spell) for 1 round. This is a sonic, mind-affecting effect.

Snatch (Ex): An Antiphoenix that hits a creature of Small or Medium size with a claw attack attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If the Antiphoenix achieves a hold, it can fly off with its prey and automatically make a beak attack each round in lieu of a claw attack. It can drop a snatched creature as a free action.

Old Wound Song (Su): Continuous Action. Re-opens all previously suffered wounds all over the course of the song 1d10 wounds per round. Massive hit point loss depending on how much the character has been hit before.

Black Fire (Su): Instead of casting a spell, an Antiphoenix can also create Black flames that constantly surround it expand and intensify to consume its body. Everyone within 120 ft. (even those with evasion or improved evasion) takes 16d6 points of fire damage; a Reflex save (DC 26) halves damage. The Antiphoenix can shape it any way it desires (usually that of a phoenix or a mockery of its opponents) anywhere within 30ft. and move it at flight speed.

Deadlight (Su): The Antiphoenix constantly radiates a dank, dark green shadowy-cloud in a 200-ft. radius. There are nothing but shadows in this cloud. No magical spell or force short of a god’s power can dispel the Deadlight of a Antiphoenix.

Shadow Double (Su): Once per day, an Antiphoenix can use a standard action to create a double of herself woven from shadowstuff. The double has the ability scores, base AC, hit points, saves, and attack bonuses of the antiphoenix, but no equipment. (Any apparent clothing or equipment is nonfunctional.) Since it can do anything the antiphoenix can, the double can attack her enemies with its natural weapons with which to do so. Alternatively, it can function as the target of a project image spell, duplicating Antiphoenix's actions and functioning as the origin of her spells when it is within her direct line of sight. Mentally commanding the double is a free action. Using it as the originator of a spell counts as an action of the sort needed to cast the spell for both the antiphoenix and the double. Causing either the Antiphoenix or the double to leave the plane then the Antiphoenix dismisses the double. The double lasts for 40 rounds. The death of the double does not affect the original or vice versa. If the Antiphoenix dies, the shadow double still lasts until its duration expires.

Shadow walk (Sp): Antiphoenix can use shadow walk once per day (caster level 16th). -

Shield of Shadows (Su): An Antiphoenix can surround herself with a globe of purple-black force as a standard action. This shield of shadows functions like a shield spell, granting her a +4 shield bonus to AC and absorbing magic missiles cast at her. In addition, the shield of shadows provides concealment (20% miss chance) against melee and ranged attacks. An Antiphoenix can see and reach through the shield, so it does not provide cover or concealment to opponents. An Antiphoenix may use a shield of shadows for up to 40 rounds per day. This duration need not be consecutive - An Antiphoenix may break it up into increments as small as 1 round if she so desires. Creating or dismissing the shield of shadows is a standard action.

Dead tongues (Su): An Antiphoenix can speak with any ancient & forgotten creature that has a language, as though using a tongues spell (caster level 20th). This ability is always active. It can also speak normally with any avians.

Hello everyone! Really new to play by post here, but definitely looking forward to it! I've been playing quite a bit of board games and just getting into RPGs (D&D 5e and Dragon Age so far). I'm looking forward to meeting some new people, learning new systems, and being a part of some epic journeys! My history is more in medieval style fantasy (R. A. Salvatore, Dragon Lance, etc.), but I'm definitely open to other settings. I'm willing to read rule books and learn new systems, just need some guidance on what to read. Well, thanks for taking time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you!

Send me a PM or email if you want to know more about me, would like to chat, or if you think your game would be a good fit for me.
