Police Station XII

((Of course I left your last post unanswered...you edit questions in after I've posted. and I don't really care which is the hero and which isn't.))

((Like 5 seconds after I post. But I suppose that the forums move quick. Okay, focusing on my OWN storyline now.))

The Angel whips around two nails, bringing them crosswise around the umbrella to lock it in place. He laughs at her answer.

"Oh. And why is that?"

He appears more amused by her fighting than focused on it. It's insulting, to say the least.

[Ms_Elaneous]

Iris presses the green button and slides the now smaller umbrella out from between the nails. "Because I'll die doing what I loved best, darling. Slaying monsters." Giving him a slightly arrogant grin, she presses the blue button, doing something that the Angel may or may not notice.

[NecroPaladin]

Attempting to disarm her, the Angel grabs the umbrella, recieving a nasty shock.

"Ah! An underhanded trick. And to a redeemer! What have I done to you to make me a monster, girl?"

The Angel looks visibly pissed, and begins to fight in earnest, leaping to the ceiling and raining down needles.

[Ms_Elaneous]

"Redeemer? That's a rather strange title on a beast like you," she hisses as she quickly hits the green button, morphing the umbrella into shield form. Iris finds it over her head of it's own accord, attempting to protect her from the needles.

[Kyrian]

Silas yawns and fires a charged energy blast at Revenant, or whatever it's called now.

[NecroPaladin]

The blast rings off of the now-fused bars and the energy field Revenant has put up. This is between him and Iris.

"You question my power? You've witnessed the redemption of two souls already."

The needles seem to have stopped raining down.

"State."

She hears a sickening ring of metal and flesh as he lands directly on the dying State,

"and..."

A rushing sensation...

And the angel is holding the handle of the umbrella over her own fingers, keeping her held tight. He grins as he says the last name, obviously aiming for a reaction.

"Revenant."

((No offense, Kyrian, but I'd really prefer you not be part of this storyline. If I didn't get the point across earlier.))

[Ms_Elaneous]

"The hell did Revenant ever do that needs redemption? Darling, anything he did that was a sin was by your bloody hands," she says, gritting her teeth together. Iris tries to elbow him in the stomach, mostly out of instinct than thought.

[NecroPaladin]

((And besides, you're shooting at someone who deserves a medal. ))

"You dare protect him? He was birthed in dark magic. He was a creature unfit to live in the eyes of the Gods."

Completely unphased by the elbow, he draws a nail.

"Now die."

He whips it up...




And his arm abruptly stops, right before the nail would hit her chin.

"W...What?"

((Well, if you didn't want a POLICE OFFICER being a part of your story line...then MAYBE, just freaking maybe, you SHOULDNT BE FIGHTING IN THE FLIPPING POLICE STATION!?))

[NecroPaladin]

((I just find it odd, again, that he's shooting at someone that he wants to give a medal to. And I thought you were a good judge of these things. But at least you get it now, so I'm sorry if I was offensive.

EDIT: Not to mention it's not like I could remove Revenant from the Station without godmodding. I'm really gonna stop talking OOC now. Honest. It takes me outta RP mode.))

[Ms_Elaneous]

"I knew you were in there, darling. I just didn't know you were still trying to fight," she says with a certain amount of gratification. Iris tries to hit the green button followed shortly by the red one, having already memorized their positions. With any luck the flame will help to startle the Angel.

(( Aren't they locked into a cell? So the force walls would block all attacks then. ))

[NecroPaladin]

No such luck. The eyeless beast discards the nail and grabs her by the throat, lifting her up and attempting to tear the umbrella away from her. He seems almost...desperate.

"REVENANT DOES NOT EXIST! I WILL NEVER ALLOW YOU THE GRATIF-"

He looks at the hand on her neck, and his mouth drops open.

[Ms_Elaneous]

Iris gasps as he clamps down on her throat, "I'll continue to fight him... just as long as you will... darling." She gives them both a grim smile.

The umbrella is torn from her grasp although it still burns and twists in his hands since she had command it to stay close and protect her.

Iris puts her hands over his wrists and tries to twist them away.

[NecroPaladin]

The Angel drops her and the umbrella abruptly, retreating back into the cell and holding his hand. The metal seems to be burning and rusting in a remarkably small time, and bits of his actual skin begin to show through.

Iris is likely struck by the realization that although her blows do nothing...her words do.

"You...BITCH! YOU CAN'T DRAW HIM OUT!"

Pulling another nail, he lunges at her.

((hm...is that 48 hours of imrpisonment, then parole thing still active?))

[Ms_Elaneous]

The umbrella springs open, having warped into a shield of it's own accord, and attempts to block the oncoming nail. Simulataneously it presents it's handle to her and she grips it decisively.

She does notice the more she talks the more Revenant fights. However, she is mildly frustrated she was never good at letting an emotional side out. "I can't alone. I know that, darling. But as I said, I'll fight for him as long as he will fight... for me."

[ Yes, I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Anyway, did that dream larva just vanish or what?]

((Ah, goody, then there's one suppressed prisoner who would rather like to be freed. As for the dream larva, we can get back to that right about now. I had just never been on when you were))

The nail blasts clear through the umbrella, shattering as it hits the wall behind her, driven by the Angel's clear, hate-powered brute force.

"He...he won't fight! Not for you!"

He draws himself, snarling, way too close for comfort, clawing with fists full of needles. One of the nails in his eyes has fallen out...and is filled by a dim red glow.

"I've dealt with your type before. What makes you think your dear Revenant wishes anything to do with you?"

[Ms_Elaneous]

"Because I would do anything for him," she whispers, almost shamedfacedly. Iris silently curses her own pride. She'd only known him for a day at most, why did she want to do this for him? Why? She can't think think of an answer, except for the fact that it is true. "That's enough for me to keep trying," she growls.

Quickly flipping through the buttons she dismisses the shield and begins to lash out with electricity at the approaching Angel, hoping Revenant won't take it personally.

[NecroPaladin]

"You'd..."

His face changes slightly, becomes softer as the other nail falls out.

"You'd what?"

He takes the brunt of the electricty full on to the chest, unable to block it in the slightest.

"Y-GAAAAAAAAAH!" His skeleton is briefly visible as he convulses, and is blasted back into the wall. His armor detaches in various places, and he collapses, bleeding, into a pile of metal in the back of the cell.

A small blue glass eye cracks with black lighting and slowly rolls off into the corner of the cell.

Iris stands mortified for a moment, staring wide-eyed at him before disabling the umbrella and running for him, "REVENANT!"

He remains silent for a long while, breathing haggardly. It's odd...without his armor, he's skinny, frail even. Eventually, his mouth opens to speak, not over-wide, but normally, like a human being.

"I...Iris...did you beat him? Is he gone?"

[Ms_Elaneous]

Iris looks relieved she didn't kill him. Definitely the most feminine and heart-felt thing she's ever done, she moves to embrace him. "He can't beat the both of us, darling."

[NecroPaladin]

He returns the gesture limply, beginning to cry.

"Oh...wuh...we?"

A little bit of substance is added to his rasp, a little bit of his strength returning.

"...Look me in the eye for a second...there's something...I've been needing to do."

[Ms_Elaneous]

Iris looks at him dead on, awaiting whatever it is wordlessly. Her deep blue eyes stare into his eyeless sockets.

Suddenly, his muscles tense and he pulls himself up. The suddeness of his movement would likely make Iris cry out...



...If it were not for that his lips would surely block it.



He collapses back down, completely limp and grinning rogueishly. Apparently that was worth his last ounce of strength.

"You have no idea...how long I've been meaning to do that."

Through his tears he begins to laugh.


((Now now, did you think I'd let Iris out of this without a reward?))

((Actually, I was expecting the Angel to have come back briefly through either of my last two posts. The first of the two with a comeback like "Then I'll just have to take you out of the equation" while stabbing her through the middle. The second I figured he might try to send a nail through her eyes. For whatever diabolical symbolism that would imply. Then while she is mortally wounded Revenant would fight with him in his mind and blah-blah, then try desperately to save her once he wins... blah-blah and then end with something like that. You just cut out the middleman. Okay. ))

"You damnable forward idiot!" Iris takes a rogueish smirk of her own before cutting off his laughing herself. By pressing her lips to his this time.
