YYHC 6: Now a Supernatural Drama

"Maybe. We should probably just take her and P'ro'shi and stick them in a bed together. It'll give Heather a chance to rest. If she needs it. If not it'll give them a chance for something else," Alex proposes. She knew it was difficult, but she still wanted P'ro'shi and Heather to end up together. They seemed to have some chemistry.

"Yeah Nate's stronger than he looks. He did take on like eight guys and did some damage to them," Alex pointed out. Of course she'd beat up six guys to the point of unconciousness, but still.

"KNEEL BEFORE THE SNOW EMPEROR!" Alex called triumphantly from her snow castle as she crashed another pile of snow on top of someone's head.

A figure in relatively plain clothing, not really cold-weather clothing, peers slightly over the edge of a crude entrenched snow fort. It occasionally makes a crude snowball and launches it, but it lands so far off mark its difficult to even tell what, if anything, it was aiming at. Unfortunately for the other girls, this uncoordinated figure is not P'ro'shi. Instead, is is but a crude simulacra of tentacles covered in her shirt and hat as a distraction. Once she feels someone pelt it, she surges forward and breaks the surface of the snow, where she had been lurking underneath. A quick glance and a quicker fling towards whatever poor soul had fallen for her trap before she returned to the icy depths to set up the trap elsewhere. She feels especially vindicated when she feels a massive pile smach her lure and ops up to nail Alex in the back "SUDDEN STRIKE, M**********R!". It isn't until she's back beneath the frozen surface that she realizes: Ah crap, now I'm gonna have to excavate my shirt and hat from that pile.

Mallory was not the best at snowball fights, but the rest in the lodge was more than enough to finish healing up from her crash earlier. So at the insistence of the other girls, she decided to join the others. And while she wasn't the best when it came to actual combat (especially while she was all bundled up in snow gear), she did have one heck of a strategic mind. Thus the reason why she remained within her makeshift snow fort, or her 'War Room' as she thought of it, giving directions to the people she had managed to recruit to follow her.

"I know the situation out there looks grim," she said to her gathered allies, which at the moment consisted only of Agatha and Rose, "but the others are divided and alone, while we are united under one banner. We may not be the fastest, or the strongest, or have the best aim, but we are the smartest of the bunch, and by working together I'm confident we can easily triumph over the others."

She pulled out her pen and started making marks on the map of the grounds she managed to coerce off of the groundskeeper, "Our biggest threats at the moment are Alex and P'ro'shi. Alex has the highest amount of snowballs-per-minute, so taking her out is top priority. A head-on confrontation would be suicide, so I suggest we engage in guerilla warfare, using the undergrowth here and here to strike. By staggering our shots and staying on the move, we can mask our location to avoid retaliation. P'ro'shi is a different story. Her tentacle decoy strategy and staying under the snow makes her a difficult target to hit. The only way we'll be able to hit her is by working together to lure her out. Agatha, I'll need you to hit the decoy, then get the hell out of the way. When P'ro'shi comes up to counter-attack, Rose and I will be ready to retaliate." She stood up and turned to them, "Do you understand the plan? Good, then let's get out there and show them what we're made of!"

When everyone heads back in, Taika enjoys a nice cup of hot chocolate. And another. And a third. And some hot cider. To the last, she adds a little bit of potion to pick her up. As Nate expected, when Taika recovered she had no interest in sleeping with him. He did get a very long, messy kiss though.

"P'ro'shi, Alex, Nate. Malory currently believes us to be small and divided groups, and until this point she was correct. We can also use this misunderstanding to our advantage. Alex, you shall act as a seige weapon, attacking them from the front and drawing attention. P'ro'shi, you shall perform hit and run tactics, keeping them distracted. Nate and I will come in from opposing sides, attacking them while they work to hold off the 'other' team," Taika says, creating a small simulation of the battlefield. Regardless of how the others acted, they would win. If they left themselves open defending from Taika and Nate, Alex's barrage would bury them, or P'ro'shi would capitalize on their weakness. Even if they didn't, Taika had another plan, should Alex and P'ro'shi turn on them, that plan being a very, very large catapult filled with snow. It probably wouldn't hurt. Or maybe it would... Eh, both have had worse, and she had a snow shovel nearby.

Things were not going according to plan. Under threat of total annihilation, the others had banded together against Mallory and her group. What's worse, Taika had proven to be more adept at tactical planning than anticipated. Acting under her direction, the others had proven to be more than a match for Mallory's ragtag team. Pretty soon, the War Room was destroyed, and Mallory's group had to fall back to the treeline.

Still, Mallory had not given up.

"Thing may look even darker than before," Mallory said to her cold, shivering compatriots, "But they always do before the dawn. We can still pull ourselves back from the brink of defeat. All we need to do is stay hidden, keep moving, and focus our fire on critical targets. Taika is the main uniting factor here. We eliminate her, the others scatter, or at the very least become far less organized, and we can seize her catapult for ourselves." She starts drawing a plan in the snow, "We'll need to hit fast, hard, and in sync, but if we pull this off, they will bow before our might." Despite everything else, Mallory was getting far more into this petty snowball fight than she had expected.

It felt good.
