Re: Planetouched play D&D
Spoiler: And she still can't get away from them.
We've had the chapter focusing on the Planetouched, the chapter focusing on the Gundam characters, so this is the chapter where I try to cut between all three of what I laughingly think of as the main plotlines.
Let me know if this shows. Imgur is being very naughty tonight.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
Elpeo's font is really hard to read at this resolution.
Imagine if all real-world conversations were like internet D&D conversations...

Re: Planetouched play D&D
Hitting the post number link in the top right corner should help; but seriously I'm glad you said something. I've hated that font since the first two minutes of using it but decided to keep it in the interests of consistency unless somebody commented. It's not the only font choice I regret.
Of course; it's only been this chapter that Elpeo has said anything worth listen to. I'm guessing the crew were successful at hiding the red jellybeans this morning.
Is there any problem with the font used for Leina Ashta? I might use a bolded version of that for Elpeo in future.

Hey... I like the works of Frank Herbert...
And I rather enjoy this work.
Here's hoping the two are unrelated.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
That's what we'll do in future. I wanted "kiddy-looking" fonts for Leina and Elpeo (but definitely not for Puru Two or Mini-Minnie. Those kids always have formal, adult speech patterns), but Juice ITC is going too far--I think it's designed for large-point-sized posters.
Elpeo is being extremely inappropriate lately, but then again she always creeped me out in canon so fair's fair. Puru Two, the villainous one, always seemed a whole lot more normal.
Apparently, Mashmyre is either wearing black shorts over his trousers or someone at Sunrise hates drawing trouser crotches. Also, it strikes me that depending on pose and angle the Qubeley is either the coolest-looking or the dorkiest-looking giant robot ever made without a lot of middle ground.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
Elpeo's text is also hard to read for me. I would've commented earlier but I forgot as I was multitasking when I saw it and had to skip a few of her balloons.

I've had no trouble with Elpeo Puru's text but I can see how one might.

Spoiler: Lazy one, because my neck's still giving me gyp.
Not happy with the whole "broken" distinction myself. But I've had DMs pull much worse.Last edited by Marlowe; 2016-08-13 at 02:50 AM.

Apologies for the unplanned hiatus. I've had a solid week of dealing with the consequences of other people's staggering incompetence and I've been too ANGRY to trust myself to write.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
Spoiler: Getting annoyed about doing image searches for these three and finding stuff I don't want to see.
I typoed "musket". Oh well, maybe Elpeo just didn't hear the line properly.

Spoiler: Wendi is a big fat scene-stealer.
Ironically, this would be the first time Wendi's ACTUALLY killed somebody.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
She's not just trolling Haman repeatedly? Oh, my memory.
Speaking of, you mentioned Haman as Gendo being scary about a page back, but I was rereading the beginning parts, and wasn't there a NGE episode one cameo in there somewhere? Maybe it's the difference between Haman consciously rejecting the role vs. playing it straight.Last edited by Lethologica; 2016-09-06 at 01:04 PM.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
Yeah, the joke with that old omake was her doing her best to trash the role and getting the canon result anyway. I'm scared at the thought of her playing it straight.
Although, it's also got Judau as Shinji and Elle as Asuka, so it can't possibly go too straight.
Interestingly, Hideako Anno worked at Sunrise during this period. It's his name on the Musaka-class cruiser design. It's very easy to see some direct parallels between ZZ Gundam and NGE. Asuka and Rei in particular have a lot of the Purus and some of Haman in them.
Ironically, in Gundam material produced since NGE, Young Haman has been turned into an almost direct clone of Asuka, so it's all going round in circles.
Spoiler: Not pictured: Multiple strips of these guys moving heavy objects around and through airlocks.
I've updated the first post with chapter names and links for 8, 9 and 10 but I honestly can't see myself finding time to link to every single post in these chapters--chapter eight was what, six months of strips?Last edited by Marlowe; 2016-09-07 at 08:55 AM.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
Louka seems to be a lot more interested in Illia than the reverse. Such projection.
Do girlfriends get fridged a lot in Gundam? (Does a bear **** in the woods?)

Re: Planetouched play D&D
It's Roux. She has two problem-solving strategies; fight or flirt. She (and Ellie) find Illia a little mystifying, which means she's a problem to be solved. Since fighting with Illia would be a stupid idea under the circumstances she's just jumped to the other approach.
Spoiler: Ten Panels with Jerks. Followed by another two.

Accidental escort mission! This is the good kind, though, where the escort pulls their own weight.

Re: Planetouched play D&D
I was wondering about that, but I thought Wendi's cyborg-ness didn't extend to that particular function. Shoulda known better. Why wouldn't Nanoha have its cyborg weapon-chicks be able to breathe in space? That would just be silly.
