Ganelon bows, "Ganelon, Protector of Avalon, at your service".

[Kyrinthic]

Syresia return's Hector's smile, "I am doing well", she replies, but is interrupted before further pleasantries can be exchanged.

Nodding back to Markus, she steps into the room, "Thank you for the invitation, though I am unsure to what I owe the honor" she adds, a polite nod towards Ganelon as she passes the door, "And a pleasure to meet you, sir".

Hector gives a brief nod and polite smile to Ganelon when the man makes his introduction. "Charmed," he says.

His eyes flit from Ganelon to Markus, then back to the man of Avalon, then back to his brother. A small smirk splits his face. "I thought this wasn't an innocent dinner invitation," he says as he takes a more comfortable stance. "So, before our meal comes, why don't we talk about why we're really here."

[Ninjaman]

"Considering how the invitation mentioned a threat to the realm I don't think that read was all that impressive." He replies to Hector's remark. "Ganelon will explain as we dine." Markus then says and leads the others into the dining hall, large enough to contain five times as many people. The meal was nothing compared to the recent feast, yet it was still more than those without royal blood would see more than a couple times in their life.

[Daimbert]

OOC - If anyone wants to say anything before Ganelon starts, go ahead. Otherwise, he'll just tell everyone what he told Markus already, in pretty much the same way.

Syresia listens through the explanation carefully, glancing around to gauge the others reactions.

Once Ganelon is finished, she asks, "While this does seem like a serious threat, I am curious why the four of us are the only ones talking about it? I am not unskilled in magic, but I certainly have no idea what this thing might be."

[Daimbert]

Ganelon glances at Markus, as if inviting him to answer Syresia's question.

[Ninjaman]

"We have no idea who might be behind this, and until we do as few people should know of this as possible. Now we do at least have the advantage they don't know we're looking into it, if they did they might try to mislead us, or dispose of us."

[Thokk_Smash]

"We are the best-equipped in the kingdom to investigate this," Hector says with a nod while avoiding outright saying that he agrees with his half-brother. "Your skill will be useful, Syresia, and it would not draw overmuch suspicion if Markus and I were to take a trip around the surrounding areas with our hitherto unknown sister. As for Ganelon, if we happen to meet him on our way, well, who can help that?"

He takes a moment to think, silently weighing his choices from here. "Arden has been experiencing bouts of strange creatures trespassing upon its lands. The Warden is working on determining an origin, but as of yet he cannot say from what direction they are coming. I don't suppose you have an inkling of which direction to begin our search, Ganelon?"

[Daimbert]

Ganelon replies, "I might, but first ... have either of you ever heard of a place or kingdom called 'Chaos'?"

[Kyrinthic]

Syresia shrugs, "Well, not sure thats the greatest reasoning, but it sounds more interesting than wandering around town, so I am in. Cant say that I have ever heard of this Chaos place, but I am pretty new around here".

"The term used as a place or kingdom is unfamiliar," Hector says with a shake of the head.

[Ninjaman]

Markus sighs. "Oh well, at least it's good to know that count on your help."

[Daimbert]

After a short pause, Ganelon answers Hector's earlier comment, "I'm not certain about this, but I suspect that these aren't isolated incidents. If so, there might be some kind of pathway or road that allows them to enter into certain Shadows. If we started from Avalon, perhaps we could trace that pathway and see where it leads, or break out in nearby Shadows if necessary. Obviously, I have no skills that might help in that sort of investigation, but I presume that you do."

[Thokk_Smash]

Hector nods slowly. "That is a sensible stratagem. I am no stranger to walking through Shadow. If we should need a cover story, we can simply say we are going to sightsee and show a new Shadow to dear Syresia."

[Kyrinthic]

Syresia nods as well, "I am more that willing to be an excuse, I am honestly quite curious to see these strange pathways, though I wonder if my limited experience will be enough to really help understand them".

[Ninjaman]

Markus looks at his sister. "I'm sure you will do fine. Does anybody have anything they need to do before we leave?"

Hector shakes his head. "I am ready and able currently."

[Daimbert]

Ganelon strokes his chin thoughfully. "If I may offer a suggestion, we could drop the hint that you all accepted my invitation to view my lovely kingdom ... which, since I've been inviting almost every Prince and Princess in Amber and even some of the more important nobles and state officials, is pretty believable. Odd that none of them seemed anxious to take me up on it. We can leave tomorrow morning. And we don't even have to travel through Shadow for that part, as I've had a Trump made for Avalon to facilitate travel, on the grounds that it's a bit far from Amber to travel normally and I hoped to be spending a lot of time traveling back and forth between the realms."

[Thokk_Smash]

Hector ponders for a moment, posturing with a hand on his chin. "That sounds like an acceptable substitute for my suggestion," he says finally, in that Amberite way of acceding without saying as much.

[Ninjaman]

Markus smirks slightly at Hector's reply. "Yeah, that sounds good."

[Kyrinthic]

Syresia nods, "That sounds like a tidy solution, though I am curious who made a trump for you, I would love to talk with them some when we are through with the current concerns."

[Daimbert]

Ganelon shrugs, "I had Marie do it. I think she's hoping I'll convert."

He then stands up, "If there are no other questions, I'll see you all tomorrow. By your leave."

He leaves.

You all retire to your quarters to prepare for the journey the next morning.

[Daimbert]

The next morning, everyone prepares and meets Ganelon in the main courtyard. He smiles as he greets you all, and then holds out the Trump, showing an image of a palace with tall, white towers in the background.

"Would one of you care to do the honours? I'm not ... comfortable with these things yet," he says.

Leaving the evening before, Syresia heads back to her room, and makes preparations, and in the morning, is

Arriving early in the main courtyard, Syresia nods a pleasant greeting to Ganalon. She is well suited for travel with leggings and a fine tunic rather than a more courtly outfit. Several easily accessible pouches on her belt compliment the small light sword hanging there. As she waits with Ganalon for the others to arrive, she remarks, 'I do hope the weather there will be similar to the weather here'.

Once all are present, she takes Ganalon up on the offer, replying 'I would be happy to open this for you' as she takes the card and briefly focuses on the card to look through and esure the exit will be safe before opening a gate for the group.

Markus arrives shortly after his sister, wearing a casual outfit but carrying the elaborate blade in his belt, easily revealing that he was no commoner. He greets the other two with a raised hand and a nod.

Hector brings up the rear; fashionably late, as it were. He is dressed simply, but his clothing is as finely made as the court seamstresses could make it, embroidered in blue and silver silk. A magnificent sword hangs in its scabbard on his belt, and he waves in greeting to his siblings as well.

"Lead the way, sister," he says with a magnanimous sweep of his arm.

As Syresia concentrates on the card, you all feel the normal sensation and shimmer of Trump transportation, and then in a blink of an eye you are now in what you presume is Avalon. The area pictured, however, is not as unobtrusive as you might like, as you see before you a few guards and a young warrior. Their hands immediately go for their swords, but then the young warrior exclaims "Lord Ganelon! I did not expect you back so soon ... or so suddenly!"

Ganelon raises his hand, and the guards and young warrior visibly relax. "It's all right, Lance. Just a little trick I picked up in Amber. Nothing to worry about, " he replies with a chuckles.

He continues, "Speaking of which, these are very important visitors from that great city. Please ask the seneschal to prepare some suitable rooms for them."

He then turns to you, "Would you like to see your rooms and acclimatize yourselves first, or would you prefer to take a look at the circle I spoke of?"

OOC - Sorry about the delay. Things are very busy right now.

Syresia glances around the castle to get a feeling of the size and condition of it while Ganalon calms his guards.

"I would suppose it depends on how far it is. If it is relatively close, it would make sense to take a look now, so we can start things along."
