Order and Chaos - Erfworld Freedom
Maybe this story is more to do with order and chaos. Order can represent restrictions while Chaos represents freedom.
Maybe thats what the Titans intend of Stanly and Parson. For them to bring freedom to Erfworld inhabitants who are otherwise just another "unit" (lookamancer, marbit, gobwin) with no identity or freedom except for "special characters" like Wanda, Bogroll and Sizemore, etc.
The only conflict to this is Sir Webinar and Dora.

Re: Order and Chaos - Erfworld Freedom
Sir Webinar and Dora could simply be considered "Order"'s special units, much like Ansom and Vinnie.
Or consider my alternate theory.
To have true freedom, you'd need both necromancers and knights on shining Sourmanders to have choices. It's not Order vs. Chaos- you need Order and Chaos.Noble Axeman of the Roy fanclub. Why?
Look at this face. That's why. That is one awesome face!

Re: Order and Chaos - Erfworld Freedom
I think we know their names because they're important characters in the story. Minor units are treated with some amount of respect and lower levels have been addressed by name. I believe there just hasn't been any occasion to use a name on a field unit yet.

Re: Order and Chaos - Erfworld Freedom
Order currently rules erfworld.
Turns, stats, units, "popping"
As Parson noted, its all neat and organized.
Stanly is a big example of someone who was nothing but common infantry and is now an overlord. The very actions of the Arken hammer are Chaotic (walnuts to birds?).
