The manager looked between the two girls and sighed, "Look, he hasn't been working here long enough to be in our actual drills. But we give the trainees a video that's supposed to teach them what they need to do. If he can't even be bothered to remember what he saw there, I don't think he'll be a good fit. If I keep him on and he screws up again, it's me ass that's going to be on the line."

A video isn't training. Becca pleaded.

"Th-Thanks," Betty said, still clinging to Molly, "B-But the p-police s-said I sh-shouldn't have t-tried to take th-them like th-that... it c-could have m-made it look l-like I was i-involved or s-something..."

Lily nods, and sits down across from the pair. "I'd have cleared them with my feet, but that doesn't change the fact that you did good! Especially for your first time!"

She gives an exaggerated thumbs up. "We'll make a Road Warrior out of you yet Firework."

"Look, that's how the boss does it with anyone who's not security," she says with a shrug, "And he doesn't really like people questioning him, so I don't really argue."

She sighs, "Can you two really vouch for this guy? His references didn't exactly have a stellar opinion of him."

Lily nods, and sits down across from the pair. "I'd have cleared them with my feet, but that doesn't change the fact that you did good! Especially for your first time!"

She gives an exaggerated thumbs up. "We'll make a Road Warrior out of you yet Firework."

"B-But I'm n-not really a f-fighter," Betty says, "A-and I can't d-drive yet either..."

"So did you have a knife fight break out on your first day at work?"

"Well, no..." she mumbled awkwardly.

"So is it possible that given the nervs of a first day on the job combined with violence breaking out on day one, it was just a recipe for things going wrong? By all means, fire him if he does something grossly negligent, but give him time to not be fired for being a tad new. Your own first day probably didn't go too well even without a fight."

"Yes ma'am!" Greg said, saluting her as she left. When she was gone, he ran up and hugged Sakuya and Becca, "Thankyouthankyouthanktouthankyouthankyou! I thought I was a goner for sure!"

The manager looked between the two girls, then lifts her index finger at Greg, "One chance. That's all your getting. You are on thin ice Greg, so shape up or get out!"

"Yes ma'am!" Greg said, saluting her as she left. When she was gone, he ran up and hugged Sakuya and Becca, "Thankyouthankyouthanktouthankyouthankyou! I thought I was a goner for sure!"

Becca hugs him back

"I may not like you, but I dislike arbitrary rules and inconsistency more."

"That's all I can ask for!" Greg says with a smile, "Now if you excuse me, I have some clean-up to do. One part of the employee training I do remember is how to get rid of bloodstains!"
