Mallside 9: Waaagh!

"Doesn't seem to be. Of course, if something exists, chance is we have it. Or had at some point," the woman says. "If you need more, it won't be a problem to order them."

Electra nods and smiles gently.

"Glad to hear it. So, with these and the missiles, what would the total be?" Electra crosses mental fingers that the "fairly expensive" weapons chips won't be outside her means. She might have to pull a job or two before she can repair her armor if the total cleans her out, but she's already decided the prospect of increased offensive capabilities is a good trade for a temporary reduction in defensive protection, provided she can afford the initial outlay...

The woman taps at the screen in front of her and finally names a price. It's fairly high, but should be within Electra's means.

Electra beams as she reaches into her gauntlet and pulls out her bank card, and hands it to the woman.

"Excellent! I really appreciate you taking a look at my armor, and I'm glad to know there's a reliable place where I can get supplies." Her smile is warm and a little infectious. Obviously, another happy customer.

[Morty]

"Always happy to help," the woman says. "I'm glad that you'll remember us in the future."

Electra opens the boxes that contain the chips first, and draws one of her pistols. She pulls the Storm Tornado chip out, and her eyes flash for a moment, before a compartment unlatches and drops down from the center of the weapon's grip, like a magazine on a conventional pistol, though it doesn't drop free of the weapon. Inside are two depressions with contacts that seem to be designed to accommodate the chips. She snaps the chip into place, and her eyes flash again, before the compartment snaps shut. A moment later, her armor shifts color, the black becoming white, while the blue trim turns purple. The gold accents stay the same color, as does the plate still on the table. After a second, the color shifts back, and she holsters the weapon, before drawing the other and repeating the procedure with the Lightning Web chip, only this time the main color is yellow, while the accent is black. She nods to herself, after her armor shifts back to its normal colors and looks to the woman, who's presumably running her card.

"Indeed I will. I'm Electra, as you've no doubt guessed. I'd like it if I could deal with you again, miss..?"

[Morty]

"It's Mrs., and my name is Dorota Séregon," the woman says. "A pleasure. I'm the store's resident alchemist, although I happen to be running the counter right now. And this is Sizewell."

The golem turns his head towards Electra and the white glow in his eyes dims a bit, before lighting up again.

"Hello."

[Nova_Eclipse]

[Erin's Emporium]

Electra nods again, smiling, both at Dorota and at Sizewell as she speaks.

"Likewise, a pleasure indeed to meet you both." She takes her card back as Dorota finishes with it and stows it once more in her gauntlet, before gently picking up the box Sizewell brought in earlier with the micro-missiles in her left arm, and the damaged armor she showed Dorota with her right. "Well, I won't take up any more of your time. Thanks again, Dorota, I look forward to doing more business with you." She looks over to Sizewell and offers him another warm smile. "And thank you for being so helpful, Sizewell. Be well, both of you!" And with that, she turns to leave, obviously pleased with her purchases.

"Uncle Raril!?"
"Hey, you guys go on ahead. I'll meet you back at the dorm."
One of a group of three young folk laden down with bags of clothing and cones of ice cream peels away from the others and heads towards the drow.
Anima Drake-Nerei is a high-school aged human with the traditional witch's hat on her head, and it's likely she's never seen Raril in her life. But something remembers. Her hair is a short bright golden-brown and her chosen ice cream flavor is some caramel-swirled thing.
"I thought you'd left for the underdark! Or are you back now? And who's this?"

[Food Court]

Raril looks up, expecting to see Arthur or Victoria, but finds this... strange young person. Who were they and how did they know about his underdark trip?

Erelae looks to her father. "I thought your niece was a half-fiend?"

"She is... that's not her. Um...hello? Who are you?" Raril asks, confused.

[Recaiden]

The strange young person looks to Erelae.
"He's not really my uncle. Just a friend to our family."

"My name is 'Anima'. 'Hide Anima Drake-Nerei'. You knew us two Chosen ago, in the Good League of Good. Oh! I probably haven't met you in this time-thread, I'm sorry. This must have been confusing, mustn't it?"

She lifts the hand with her ice cream cone, as if making a point.
"And, though I think it's silly, the Ineffable Lord of Fire gives you thanks. For being there at a lucky time."

All-in-all, that probably just raises further questions.

Raril blinks, now even more confused. "Um... you're welcome? I think?"

His daughter just giggles a bit. "Well, I think I should introduce myself. I'm Erelae Xar'Cha, Raril's eldest daughter. And he hasn't left for the Underdark yet. We're shopping for that trip now." She explains.

"My sister confiscated all of my magic items, so I need new adventuring gear."

[Recaiden]

"Nice to meet you, Erelae."

Anima gives a little nod. The daughter seems nice enough; able to laugh.

"You're not trying to liberate the old gear? I'm not much of an adventurer myself; maybe buying new is easier. Don't suppose you need lamps."

What with that see-ing in the dark thing.

[Artemis97]

Raril chuckles and taps his temple. "No, no lamps. Still, I would love my old gear back, but there's too much trouble to even step close to it."

"Matron Danube would probably put my brother on a spit if you tried." Erelae agreed.

[Recaiden]

"What if some completely unrelated person happened to steal it away, do you think? Your brother's not in charge of it right?"

Having suggested that terrible idea, Anima finishes off her ice cream with one last bite.

[Artemis97]

"He pretty much is. Has to tow the line, too, else he'll end up on the aforementioned spit." Erelae explains.

Raril sighs. "She's using my own son against me."

[Recaiden]

"Has he got any chance of getting out of it?"
Anima inquires, but not hopefully.

[Artemis97]

Both drow shake their heads.

"Which is why we're shopping today. Know any good stores for adventuring gear?" Raril asks.

[Recaiden]

"So, the last place you want to go is Azik's Enchantments. Cause they have a bit of everything." ((and Halae is not around reliably))

"You're more likely to find things somewhere specialized. Erin's Emporium for weapons. The Unsullied Bazaar for misc items, Prof Pi's Potions for, well, obviously. And if nothing else, there's the MagMart down at the end of the west wing."

Anima points this way and that for the various stores.

[Artemis97]

"I'm not going to MagMart." Raril decides immediately. He liked Magtok alright. Didn't trust the cyborg an inch, though.

"Erin's Emporium sounds like a good place to start. You can buy me a new dagger." Erelae informs her father.

Raril thinks about that a moment and shrugs. "Whatever you want. I'm not paying for it."

[Recaiden]

Anima giggles and starts off on the way to the weapon store.

"I can buy you a new dagger. Need to pick up something myself; these are dangerous times."
They're always dangerous.

[Artemis97]

"Well, aren't you generous?" Erelae says smiling. "Of course, I would owe you one. Maybe I'll get Sorn to make you something nice. My brother's really quite adept at making magic items."

"Not that he'll make a thing for me." Raril grumbles. "I don't know what I did to that boy."

"Yes you do."

"Ah, yes I do. You're right."

[Recaiden]

"Yes. Although, you'd just owe him one then."
Anima raises an eyebrow at this secondhand family drama.
"Worse than just being his father?"

[Artemis97]

"Yes, but he's my brother, so that's not so bad." Erelae says with a shrug.

"I left their mother behind when I came to the surface. It was over between us, but Sornnolu think I abandoned her." Raril explains.

"She didn't do well after you left. At all."

Raril starts to argue, but then just hangs his head and sighs. "I know."

[Recaiden]

"I wouldn't want to owe my brother a favor, is all I'm saying."
And then what can Anima say about a failed relationship and people being abandoned? She merely frowns and

-and they can focus on adventuring supplies.

Raril starts looking around at the selection of rapiers and shortswords. Erelae, meanwhile, looks at the daggers.

It isn't long before the browsing Drow finds himself accosted by a rather chirpy blonde half-elf with a name-tag that reads "Crissy".

"Hi! Um, like, can I help you find anything in particular?" she asks, with a bright, beaming smile.

Raril simply grins at the girl. "You're about to make a serious sale. I need a rapier and matched set of short swords, a few daggers, oh and throwing daggers would be good too."

Nearby Erelae clears her throat. Raril glances at her and his smile broadens. "And my daughter deserves a nice dagger too. Something pretty."

[The Bushranger]

It is at that moment, as Raril describes what he desires to purchase, that both Raril and Erelae can see "$" signs pop up in Crissy's eyes.
Along with the distant cha-ching of a cash register.
Or at least it seems like it's seen, at any rate, as the cashier girl grins happily.

"Oooh, well, you've totally come to the right place! Um, we have a nice set of swords in the back I can get, just pick out a rapier from the rack - any, like, that you think works, check the balance and everything - and I'll get some daggers for her to choose from!"

"Thank you, my dear." Raril says, before picking up a likely looking rapier and balancing it on a finger, checking the balance. He flips it onto the air and catches it by the handle and rolls it through a few attack forms.

Erelae rolls her eyes. "Show off."

It's only a few minutes before Crissy returns, bearing a variety of boxes, that she spreads out, pointing out a pair of "Fire and Ice" enchanted short swords, returning throwing daggers, and Keen daggers...before producing an additional blade with a smile to Erelae. "And I thought that perhaps this one might interest you."
