Hmm, I must have pressed a different button then, because when I went back in I had to load from my last save.

The male's ability has no effect on the offspring unless the male is bred with a Ditto. The female will pass on her ability 80% of the time and the offspring will get the other ability 20% of the time. Unless the female has the hidden ability, in which case she will pass it on 60% of the time, and the other two 20% each (or 40% if the species only has one normal ability).

Hidden Abilities can only be passed down by the mother, unless the father breeds with a Ditto. If it's a normal ability, it's an 80% chance to pass down, if it's a Hidden Ability, it's a 60% chance to pass down.

No, actually. You have a 0% chance, since the HA is on the male. If you want to pass it down, breed that male with a Ditto until you get a female with it, then work from there.

Normally I would be more than happy to give you one of my 6IV numel-breedlings for free─The Gods know, I got more than plenty (of all 3 set of abilities, male and female, with 4 egg moves, AP among them, and comes in Brave, Sassy, Quiet)─but my 3DS' top screen broke a few weeks ago...

Oh yeah. I pressed the Over-Kill button when breeding for shiny numels when deciding to breed one of each ability and nature that I wanted, since I could not decide on a nature. 3 shiny volcano 'mons! \o/

Oh good lord. All i wanted was a Camerupt with Solid Rock, because my Mega Stone is going on my Sceptile and Solid Rock would help mitigate his Weaknesses.

But if you get that screen fixed i will happily take a Numel Breedling with Simple.

Well, somehow, one of my pokemon in Platinum got Pokerus.

I still don't feel like EV training without the tools that Gen 6 has.

Anyway, going through Platinum for the first time. Currently my team is Prinplup, Rampardos, Luxray, and Jolteon (gave Jolteon the TMs for Shock Wave and Thunder, so it's doing pretty well). Will probably replace Luxray at some point, but for now it's still a good member of my team, really helped in the recent battle against Maylene.

I didn't really start out with a plan for what I wanted on my team, I'll probably end up catching a Gible (in fact, I should've done that a while ago, but I didn't know where they were) and getting Riolu, but if I'm replacing Luxray that still leaves one spot. Probably something defensive. Unfortunately, my Jolteon is male (totally slipped my mind to save and reset for certain traits) so I can't simply breed an Eevee for Vaporeon.

Talking about Eevee's, I am currently playing through Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and I love the fact that you get the National Pokedex and the opportunity to catch Pokemon from generation 1 and 2 before even finishing the Pokemon League. This is also the first time I have had the opportunity to catch an Eevee in the wild and catching one made me so very excited.

I've never had an Eevee in my team before. I'm planning on catching a second one and evolving the first into an Umbreon and the second into a Glaceon.

Eevee spelled backwards is a great pokemon, perhaps the best pokemon. So many options with it.

I decided to catch a Skorupi for my last team member. Poison/Dark type when it evolves, decent bulk, decent physical attacker. I actually caught SO MANY of these things in one marsh safari game, and sorted through them to find the best one of the lot. Would've preferred Battle Armor over Sniper, but meh.

Then the game threw me a twist. First, I figured out that once you get an egg, the pokemon inside is already decided, so I can't savescum it unless my last save is before Riley gives me the egg. Second, I got a Modest Riolu with perfect Special Attack IVs. I guess this'll be a Lucario with Aura Sphere and Flash Cannon.

Edit: Eight hours later and Lucario has turned Byron into a joke. Three Hadoukens Aura Spheres and it's over, the gym leader didn't get to make a single move.

I actually prefer the Confined version. The Unbound version looks ugly and over-designed.

Almost finished the main story of Platinum...

-Tried to get a Gengar in Snowpoint. The NPC who traded the Haunter had it holding an Everstone, then she laughed at me. I reset. No trade!

-I've discovered my team has a huge weakness to the ground type. Empoleon, Lucario, Rampardos, Jolteon, Drapion. Steel, steel, rock, electric, poison. I didn't know poison was weak to ground until late in (I think it was a bit before Sunyshore), and I never connected the dots on that until I actually reached Cynthia. Her Garchomp outsped everything I had with Earthquake. Except my own Garchomp, it outsped that with Dragon Rush instead. There's simply too much of a level difference between my pokemon and her Garchomp to have a hope of outspeeding it or surviving a super-effective hit.

I could replace Drapion, but I'm not sure what other bulky pokemon I could use... Victory Road has Rhydon and Steelix, which are both weak to ground. Damn, now I wish I could get a Glaceon. High physical defense and special attack with Ice STAB, that could take care of Garchomp. Maybe I should train up a Mamoswine.

Im playing through White again and i have a slight issue. When should i Evolve my Munna? Its current moves are:

    Moonlight
    Hypnosis
    Lucky Chant
    Psybeam

I had planned on waiting until it learned Dream Eater but thats level freakin 41, so i guess im just gonna have to get back to the Dreamyard and go get the TM. I mean other than upgrading Psybeam to Psycic or Shadow Ball when i get the TM im pretty happy with its move pool.

Moonlight and Yawn are the only maybe-relevant moves that Munna learns by level up and aren't available at start by Musharna, the rest are basically covered by TMs: Zen Headbutt is useless on a low-Attack 'mon that can learn Psyshock and especially one that learns Psyshock and Calm Mind, the other Psychic Special Attacks are outdone by Psychic, and if you are going for a Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo, the latter is a TM.

In short, evolve Munna basically as soon as you get a Moon Stone for it.

Its more accurate to say ton of Rock types are part Ground. Also many people assume Rock resists Rock, but its actually Ground that resists Rock.

Nevermind. Thought they were mutually super-effective. Well, most ground types will have a rock or steel move, anyway, so watch out for that.

That is correct, off hand i think its only Rhyhorn who's actually a Ground type with Rock tacked on. The others are Rock primary.
