The nearest mercenary looks at "Kirk" with bemusement. He's a very large troll hefting a power-hammer.

"Uh... yes, there are two concealed exits. One through the roof, and one through the cellar. I thought the people in charge knew that."

The others prepare themselves to meet both Tier and the mercenaries attacking from the outside. Three magitech golems are fully online now, and ready for combat.

The Trandoshans on the roof duck, the helicopter fire successfully disrupting their assembly of the E-Web. Fortunately, Trandoshans are pretty strong. Unfortunately, they're also pretty stupid. Combine these two, and you have a Trandoshan lifting the tripod-less E-Web in his bare hands, firing wildly at the helicopters... for several seconds, until the recoil knocks him back on his ass.

On the ground, the hands of the Trandoshan mercs manage to close in on the mercenary groups, approaching from four sides. They immediately open up with heavy repeating blaster fire, focused on spraying down the enemy mercenaries with little regard for subtlety or restraint.

The helicopters simply keep shooting, most likely hitting something, as most blasts miss while others will hit the helicopter in the tail, causing it to spin out of control and three soldiers, armed like the others, parachute out to the ground below. The other starts shooting at whatever is closing in on the left. (Away from the building, Bravo team) The soldiers hide behind whatever they can find and if any Trandoshans are spotted from arial view the soldiers will receive call outs of their positions.

Since I'm not sure what those do I describe on that. The bullets themself don't really get far in. If they are heated up they pass 3/4 of the wall befor they get stuck. If they release a fireball or such then the fire melts away a good amount of the wall. it should still stand, but now the imprisoned smoke will come at Tier.

"Is te one through the cellar that way?" he points at the hallway he came from and Tier is. "If not we should go for it. I hear helicopters outside so the roof might be to dangerouse." This is a damn emergency so 'Kirk' won't waste time trying to clear why he doesn't know it. At all he looks really beat up. He's close on colapsing and bleeds on several places.

Tier fires another couple of dragon's breath shells and then puts in standard lead rounds. If this doesn't break the wall of ice, he runs about 10 feet away from the wall and throws an HE Grenade at it. If the second firing on the wall doesn't break through, the grenade should do it.

The Trandoshans on the rooftop duck for cover once again. They seem to be suppressed for now.

At street level, the Trandoshans aren't being particularly subtle. They'll be easy to spot from the air.

"What, and let this maniac run roughshod over the place? We can hold out here," the mercenary argues.

Meanwhile, other mercenaries open some windows just enough to shoot through, and fire on the arrivals from the helicopters. They hope to flank them while they try to fight the Trandoshans.

The mercenaries do nothing to the soldiers on the side because their point man has a riot shield. The soldiers back up from the base and in each side call out, "3...2...1". The 2 charges on the sides of the base donate.

The soldiers fighting the Trendoshans take cover and randomly peek directly at them because of their call outs, giving a burst of bullets at the Trendoshans. The three soldiers from the fallen helicopter try to flank the Trendoshans.

The second round of dragon breath ammo does it's work, but as said befor the cluoud takes away his view theough the hallway so he can't see the ice breaking.

"I'm not in a condition to fight and outside are some other guys..." then the loads go off. "*curses* We need to evakuate. whatever that guy down theioir did he got some full armed guys as support."

Tier charges down the hallway, while he does, he slings his shotgun over his back and grabs his M4A1. He sprays his entire magazine (30 rounds) down the hall, hoping to hit something. After that, if no one stops him, he slings his M4 over his back and draws his 8 Gauge again.

The trandoshans pause in their attack.

Then, they run.

Hmm.

Curious.

If the helicopter pilots are watching the skies, they may spot several unknown craft approaching.

The breaching charges will blow a couple of holes in the walls of the base, but the incoming mercenaries will face some suppressive fire once that happens. More importantly, there are two golems coming through.

They will try to charge the mercenaries and pummel them with their powerful, hydraulic fists.

Meanwhile, no one stops Tier... because they were getting out of the way of the bear spirit that is currently charging at him with the intent to maul. She's been hit by Tier's bullets, but she seems to pay no heed to her wounds.

"Okay. The secret exit is in the basement. The door has a code... 4521321. Go quickly, we'll do an offensive retreat after you."

The Copilot sees the Trendoshans run, and is very curious. The soldiers try to pick them off as they run and then they will slowly move, still on guard, to the building. The soldiers on the flanks once again stay safe from the suppressing fire with their point men. One on each side shouts to stay back, and something else, and roll a High Explosive grenade at the golems. The men in the back will slowly peek out of the line to shoot at the mercenaries. Back at the helicopter, the Copilot looks up to see the aircraft. "We have company." He says as the others become alert.

"4521321" 'Kirk' repeates with a nod. He turns to the basement, but stops. "Get out here quick. That Tier guy is insane. I would not wonder if he got something else prepared down there."

He then goes straight for the exit. He likly passes the door in the next post.

Tier fires his 8 Gauge at the spirit bear attacking him. If that doesn't harm it, he attempts to punch it. If he does succeed, it would have enough force to crush a human skull.

The MERC people still inside the base start getting urgent texts to retreat immediately. Luckily for them, they were doing that anyway, but still. Worth mentioning.

Any Trandoshans shot in the back while running, fall over and die. Because they were shot in the back. That kills them. They're dead now.

Meanwhile, up in the air, the approaching craft quickly turn out to be a quad of fast-flying jet fighters of indistinct make, their sky blue paintjobs perfectly matching the shade of the sky behind them. Two of them approach faster than the others, buzzing past the helicopters while the other two flying in directly, before all of them abruptly transform in midflight into humanoid mecha, hovering in midair around the helicopters.

The mecha, brightly colored in blue and bronze trim, close aggressively inwards towards the helicopters, their outlines and plating highly reminiscent of figures dressed in lamellar armor. Three of them, the ones flanking the helicopters, wield what appear to be large glaives with energized blades. The fourth would appear to be the leader - a slimmer, custom mecha with twin pennants on the shoulders, bearing fluttering banners bearing an emblem reminiscent of Skyside's flag, as little as that old flag itself still appears in the city at all. This mecha bears no glaive, but instead a scabbard at its hip suggests a sword-shaped version of the energy glaives the others have.

One of the mecha fires a wrist-mounted spike at the MERC base, which drills in through the wall, then a commanding female voice makes an announcement, audible from both mounted loudspeakers on all four of the mecha, as well as the spike-mounted speaker that has just been deposited inside the MERC base.

"ATTENTION UNKNOWN FORCES. YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE SOVEREIGN AIRSPACE OF THE KINGDOM OF SKYSIDE. PLEASE CEASE ALL HOSTILE ACTION AND SURRENDER YOUR CRAFT IMMEDIATELY. YOU WILL BE ESCORTED TO THE NEAREST LANDING ZONE AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR QUESTION. THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING."

Tier's bullets do tear through the bear's ephemeral form. It grows fainter, and weaker, but it continues to try to maul him. The wounds do not stop it or deter it, since its only goal is to protect the base and its residents.

The grenade explodes near the golems. The metal is bent and cracked, and blue sparks run along the surfaces. Still, they keep coming.

Meanwhile, the other mercenaries follow "Kirk" gradually, while continuing to lay down suppressive fire at the attackers. They don't really need encouragement, but it doesn't hurt.

The men in the helicopters look around helplessly. "It was a pleasure." One says over a radio. They gather up a few wall charges and plenty of grenades and set them all off at once sending a huge explosion at the aircraft. The men on the ground throw more grenades at the golems and their ground.

Kirk stands in front of the door and hammers the code to open it. He doesn't really wait for anyone just tries to get away as fast as he can. After he brought a few corners behind him and the fighting scene (and also got no other mercs in sight) he pulls out the remote device.

I'm a bit to far away now, but I should at least reach some. 'Kirk' thinks and pulls the trigger.

BASE

If the claws do physical damage, the claws just scratch the armor. However, if it can go physical objects, Tier suffers a gash to the abdomen. Either way, Tier drops his shotgun and draws his .44 Magnum revolver and shoots at the bear's head point blank.

There's a protracted silence as the helicopter crews apparently choose "death or glory" over "peaceful surrender", and throw their explosives at one of the mechs. Explosives which prove to be remarkably ineffective, rolling off the mechas' powerful energy blast shielding. blow themselves the hell up for incomprehensible reasons.

"Are Were these guys idiots?"
"Maybe they're just fanatics of some kind?"
"Cut the chatter you two. Zenith Three, Zenith Four, take out the aircraft. Zenith Two and I will Let's focus on the ground forces and sweep the building."
"Yes sir."

The sword-wielding mecha and one of the others The mecha immediately break off and cut their engines, dropping straight down to street level so they can close in on the building and the mercenaries surrounding it. Meanwhile, at sky level, one of the mecha takes up a bracing posture, and then suddenly rockets forward, attempting to merely smash into the nearest helicopter and cleave right through it, tearing it apart with its energy polearm and pure bulk. The other takes a less bloodthirsty approach - stabilizing itself, it'll fire at the remaining aircraft with chest-mounted energy cannons.

"What the-"

"What is it this time?"

The mercenaries retreating from the building with "Kirk" are confused by the development.

The golems are consumed by the same chain-explosion that blows up the mercenaries.

The spirit-bear's claws do go through armour, but it doesn't help it survive a point-blank shot. It dies.

[Green Elf]

[MERC Base]

The mercenaries instantly charge into the building as they know the mechas probably won't destroy the base. They will attack anyone they meet with full force. ((Description of gear provided a few posts back))

[MERC Base > Away]

'Kirk' smiles for a moment.
"We should split up. Get to the shuttle bay and return to another base." he orders the mercanaries.

[MERC Base]

It's not a wise choice to go into an extremly damaged building.
While Tier fights with the bear, dust and dirt makes it hard to see much. Also another noise comes up as slowly the afterwork of the explosions set in and the walls and floor start to break and fall. The chain reaction of this breaking could even reach Tier and all others in the building if they stay there.

Tier decides that all of his rage isn't worth it, and jumps out of the nearest opening to outside the base

The mecha do absolutely nothing as the soldiers charge into the actively exploding building. Mostly, they just stand around and watch.

One of them will fire a few half-hearted laser blasts at Tier as he flees, but they're just too dumbfounded by this whole ordeal to care at this point.

The base begins to collapse as the explosive charges go off. The mercenaries that got out stare at it, dumbfounded. This whole event was very confusing from start to finish.

[On Patrol]

What appears to be a small green mecha streaks through the sky above Skyside, thrusters burning bright. Quin peers down at the city, trying to get the lay of the land. The map he got at one of the tourist stands for a gold coin was helpful, but now he needs to put actual buildings and streets to the labels on it. Perhaps he'll spot someone in need of help, or some sort of petty crime in progress while he's up here. Toby -did- tell him to try and help out wherever he could, after all....

[Near the MERC Base]

The explosions don't go unnoticed, at a nearby tavern a goblin looks up as the force of the explosion makes ripples in his beer. He sees people quickly moving down the streets and the royal guards flying about in the distance. Yup, that couldn't be anything else.
He grabs his phone and makes the call. "Yeah, it looks like they blew it up, and more. The freaking royal guard was called in too for some reason, so whatever they did made a huge splash."
There is a reply on the other end. "Oh no, you're not paying me nearly enough to get closer to that, I'm not insane."
Another pauses. "Yeah, I'll report if anything changes. Good bye."

He then went back to his beer.

[KABAL Headquarters]

Tellysandra put away her cellhphone. "He said we didn't pay him enough for that."

Kelligan got out of his chair. "What?! That's outrageous! I'm paying him a fortune!" The goblin grunts loudly. "Next time I'm hiring a human, they do the same work for half the money, and their females even less."

Tellysandra sigh and tapped her mask. "You realize that I'm human and female, right?"

He gives her a ingenuous look as he puts out his old cigar. "It's a compliment! They're real miracle workers. Don't be like that now."

"I will ignore your blatant racism and sexism yet again, as there is some important work at hand." She turned towards the giant screen next to her that were currently showing the map of Skyside city. "We're going to go through with phase 2 now, and get ourselves ready for phase 3. Hopefully, we'll find someone crazy enough to join AMEN now."

Kelligan sat back into his chair and smiled as he reached for another cigar. "Like you? I mean, that was also a part of the plan right? To give AMEN some hope by joining them."

"Mhmm..." Tellysandra agrees nonchalantly. "Which reminds me, I need to give Zefir a call, which means you need to give need to call all our agents around the city, you can't just sit around on your fat butt all day." She takes out her cellphone again and makes her way out of the room.

But before she can make her exit, Kelligan get this mischievous look in his eyes. "Speaking of ample butts..." He raises his hand to give the warlocks ass a smack, but already as he raises it, a small storm cloud materializes and the goblin is zapped by a tiny lighting bolt. "Gaahahh!"
Tellysandra then leaves without as much as giving him another look.
"She got a stick up that ass..." He grumbles and gets out his phone, he better get to those calls now, the gods knew that no one was going to do anything unless he specifically told them to in this organization...

Shortly after the battle at the MERC base, posters have started showing up all over Skyside, promoting people to join KABAL and AMEN.

Those interested to join are instructed to call number indicated on the posts, or visit one of KABAL's offices in skyside.
There are also a lot of anti-MERC posters among these, calling for the people of skyside to throw out these outsiders that are trying to force their way into the city.

Quin might come across these posters when he's on patrol.

[On Patrol]

After a bit of getting his bearings, Quin decides to try his luck on foot, and begins making his way through The Raindrop District, heading slowly towards Thunderhead, taking in the sights and keeping an eye out for nefarious activities. As such, it isn't too long before he runs across a couple of the posters admonishing folks to join up with either AMEN or KABAL. Quin doesn't know who or what KABAL is, but he's heard stories in his travels about the rogues gallery that is AMEN. As such, he takes one of each of the posters down, dematerializing and storing them to attach to his report later, before continuing on his way, watching a bit more carefully now.

The men look to each other and immediately run out, some being effected by the blast while the others make it out alive. They instantly run for their lives and try to escape in small groups.
