Kill her? Here and now? No, that wouldn't cause nearly enough chaos. Think how dull it would be. A dead body in a closet... terribly uninteresting. There are only two things that make killing worthwhile- volume and closeness. I'm talking real emotional closeness. I don't MIND if you want to... do your thing. I'll just, you know, sit in a metaphysical corner.

Last we left John, he had just finished kissing Jane and gotten her number. Now, after getting out of the library, he stares at the paper and number in his hands, wondering what just happened.

"Oh no, this cannot be real..."

Lowen cracked his knuckles, if there were knuckles to crack. "Don't worry about it, John. Just a distracting little diversion. Let's get down to business. Now, the cops are gonna be focused elsewhere, and we're still getting away from here. People leaving their businesses due to the fire. Plenty of shops along the way, so let's find one and crack that sucker open."

...And, you fail. >_<

After an elongated pause, Lowen shook his head(?). "Yep, okay. Got it. No more illegal activities for the day. Dammit, John."

Ah, who cares, it's a good start. Next thing you know, you're helping stab John's grandmother. If he has a grandmother. Hey John, do you have a grandmother?

Oh, but theft does hurt people. You're directly impacting somebody's life and livelihood. Think about it. Somebody loses something every time you steal something. It could be thousands of dollars. They might be uninsured. You might be taking something with sentimental value. Face it- I just want their lives to end in spectacular fashion. I end their meaningless, do-gooder lives in favor of my own happiness. Someone kills John for the same reason, fine, I'm happy. You want to do something that actually HURTS people with no care or thought for the consequences. I might be a monster, and an evil heartless bastard, and I might have no regard for human life, and I'm kind of undermining my own point here, but you're hardly innocent.

Lowen waved a hand dismissively. "Shove off. I nicked a rubber chicken head. Thousands of dollars and sentimental value my arse." He continued, shaking his head. "An' I ain't above givin' it back if they ask - I just like ta get my hands on it." His voice lowered. "You can't give what you take back."

(*Shrug* It's in-character, doesn't have anything to do with me.

For the record, Lowen is John's latent kleptomania. No point hiding it, now.

And yes, I'm claiming retrospective responsibility for the rubber chicken head. Sorry if that doesn't fit, Eagle.)

The chorus of arguing voices don't do much for John's sanity. Soon, he screams out loud and dashes for the nearest building, attempting to pick the lock, convinced it'll shut the voices up.

John ends up with a broken lock, a few broken lockpicks and a lower level of sanity than when he first started. "What's happening to me? What do you all want?" He yells, breaking into tears. "What do I do next?" He whispers, after a few seconds of weeping and whining.

Actually, that roll should have gone through. I miscalculated when I said that it didn't.

I got a 2 on a 1d6, not a 1d6+1. And I said that I would spend one Willpower, so that should be 2+1 = 3, and I have Lockpicking as a skill.

The Voice who is currently in control of John does the rolling. If that Voice has a skill that covers the challenge, then it needs to roll a 3 or higher on a d6 to succeed. If it doesn't have the skill, it needs to roll a 6.

I had a 3 (or higher), so I should pass. I made a mistake either way, but it should pass.

For the record, I haven't used the dice roller here in years. >_<

John does as bid and retries it, not really expecting much... and the door opens to reveal an antique weapon store. Of course, the cash machine is currently unattended.

Lowen smirked as the door sprung open. "Okay, Butterfingers. Show me that you can be a sticky fingers. Nab something. Something small that you can hide easily. Preferably something that won't be missed."

Before John can think about it, he's swiped a box containing a small antique four-barreled pistol and ammo enough to fire the gun 7 times. (Decided that based on your roll. :p) He stuffs the box into his coat.

"Oh God, oh God." He whispers to himself as he looks around. The coast is clear for now. Looking to the left, he sees a sleeping dog.

AHAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, that's hilarious. I would just like to say that I do not support shooting the dog. That would be boring. But I fully support grabbing the gun. That is a nice weapon. Like, seriously.
