As Illven mentions, we can stop the timer so you won't be skipped and have your turns taken by the AI - we did this very recently for me. On the other hand, if you're okay with the AI taking your turns, you can activate vacation mode on GMR, which will make the AI take your turn instantly so we won't have to wait for the skip timeout before the game progresses. I'll remove the timer now, let me know if you want to use vacation mode instead, or when you're ready to have it re-added.

Well, as I said in the GMR 16 thread, it seems my PC's died and as such it's probably going to be a while before I'll be in a position to be able to play Civ V. As such, in the interests of not stopping the game for everyone else, I'm probably going to step out of things. If someone else wants to join to take up the reigns, now might be a good time to ask for an invite link.

Can I get an extension on the turn timer or something? My civ isn't working (steam error code 2) and having looked online it looks like this is a common problem for people over the past day. Hopefully it's something Valve will fix soon.

Aleph Complex is now in a conundrum. The traitors in sector HUN have claimed the fertile land around us and our armed forces have long been mobilizing for war in order to wipe these traitors from the land. With Orcus leaving for vacation, however, it would be poor form to follow through with our invasion plans.

I certainly intend to follow through with the invasion, though his being gone is a twofold problem. One is feeling like a jerk for invading while he is away. The other is I suspect the AI will prioritize units more than he is currently doing. Still, the invasion may be another some turns away, since I still need a few more composites before I feel ready.

Our apologies. During your adjutant's stewardship, we suspected that some traitors might attempt to incite violence between our two complexes, and thus deployed the archers to deter said adjutant from considering such actions. Our defense force has been withdrawn back inside Aleph Complex as a show of good faith.

We do question the nature of what you claim as your land. As we recall, the mountains serve as the boarder between our territories in the meantime, and our archers were defensively posted in the mountain pass.

So. It has come to this.

I have too many things on my plate, and in a couple weeks I will be away for almost a month. As such, I need to re-prioritize things and the GMRs are something that has to be put down. Anyone care to take over the Huns from me? We are in a decent position and it's still early-ish days, so I'm not trying to foist off a losing game or anything.

The newest Persian colony has developed a taste for Wine, and we have told them we intend to scour the lands until they can acquire a steady supply. We offer you Pearls, but we also have fine Marble if your people find that more appealing. Even though each of our people have only one supply of these goods, we hope that we can help satisfy the needs of your cities and thus both our lands will benefit from this exchange. To facilitate future trade we have also proposed an exchange of ambassadors. Feel free to modify the deal as you wish, but know our land has little extra gold so we cannot afford to trade for anything except resources.

OOC: A happiness neutral trade, as my city craves Wine. If one or more of your cities need either Pearls or Marble feel free to modify accordingly. If nothing else Embassy swap sounds like a good idea to me for ease of future relations.

    And we have photobucket again!

    Spoiler: Spectator update

The prophets tell us, that they believe an unknown civilization has reached something they call the medieval era.

Si Satchanalai makes notes of the orc savages in boats, almost managing to sink the ship with our civilian defense force.

Lampung starts having demands for a thing that does not exist. What motivates the people to provide their leader with impossible demands?

Muang Saluang's defense force reports no problems at least.

Nor does our glorious palace guard.

Our great builder, waits for when he is called.

Our workforce continues improving the land, at the behest of our glorious leader.

And the orc ship has been sunk!

And we start trying to remove one camp of the orcs.

Having finished the study of horseback riding, our glorious leader starts working on a standardized trading unit so as to reduce the time of barter.

Here we see the glorious city that repelled the orc invaders.

Muang starts work on a circus to keep our civilians entertained.

Lampung does similar, working on a coliseum, so our citizens don't feel dread about being the only sentient people in the world.

Here we see, the government of the Siam people. A master of tradition, and with freed citizens underneath the ruling class.

The prophets say we have the best harvest, and are the worst at nothing.

So it's past turn 50. It's time to discuss my starting area and such. Being completely isolated has it's benefits and drawbacks. The benefits practically no need for a military. Right now I don't have hostile neighbors, I know a player is not going to attack me at least until they find me, this frees up my production for other things. The downside. My techs are more expensive then other players, because every other player that you know that has a tech decreases the cost of your techs by about 5%. I'm getting no free beakers from my total isolation.
