A boy I knew, an FtM who had taught me about gender, sexuality, and psychology more than anyone else, was the one who allowed me to discover it.
He is, I think, the most important person in my life right now. I wanted to keep it that way forever.
So, last Saturday, I asked him out. He said yes, we kissed, and it was the best. I was happy. Then he broke it off the next day. He said he loved me as a brother. It was painful.

Hello all. Just checking in, still don't have much to say on this thread. Still attracting to guys, occasionally feeling insecure in the possibility that I might be bisexual (in what is likely the complete opposite type of sexual insecurity that most people experience). Recently had to deal with a few people that left me frothing in rage. Still mostly good.

Also, I may be approaching a life of being terribly short, having already experienced my growth spurt, and still being five foot three, in addition to being dreadfully thin. At least it's likely going to be easy for me if I ever want to pass androgonously.

I've always found short guys to be very cute.
As for the thinness, that's not so hard to fix with proper workout and diet, if you decide to.

So, I told my beloved this story earlier, but I got clocked as FtM yesterday. Despite not being.

I expressed a lack of concern about a couple of things over the time I've been there and joked about a spayed cat waking up angry by saying "Well, if someone had removed my uterus without permission I'd be pretty mad too." Yesterday I was checking if Rain was updating again on my lunch break and she looked over my shoulder, asking "Is that Rain? Oh. Oooooooh..." gave me a little smile and walked on.

Well, not in this case. I've been stuck in it for years too, but only recently has it and the weather joined forces to rob me of the energy to go do things with friends. I'm coping with the change in weather better than usual though. I want to finish sewing my simple kimonos because where I am, it's getting really damn hot and I really want light clothing. Sorry to complain so much, but at the same time, it's sometimes good to complain about such things.

    You're welcome.
I like the shapes and how it flows (if that makes any sense at all). It's also not the type of outfit I see often and I've always liked looser looking trousers. The top is interesting but simple though that might be purely because I'm pretty used to seeing only your average shirts all day every day.

I am. I took my first batch of pills today. It might be the placebo effect, because I expected this, but I was a little more emotional, though that doesn't bother me. I like feeling things. I'm wondering when I should change my facebook name though. I've told some friends, but not everyone.

I spent a lot of my childhood as a runt. I grew somewhere between two n' three inches not long after turning 18, and ended up either 5'8" or 5'9" (I honestly just don't remember which). Granted, I'm more in range the average/medium height than being a short guy, but the way you approach it is pretty simple: don't care about it. You only run into problems when you get a Napoleon complex about it. Confidence solves a lot of problems, and confidence is a fancy way of saying "don't sweat the small stuff", pun unintended. Just go about your business as though you're you, and being shorter just becomes being wanged on the head by doors less often.

I also have a giant cousin who is tall enough that he has to duck to enter pretty much any room, so that's given me some perspective.

That's good. At first I read it as "without even knowing", then I wondered about what that entailed until I read it over a couple times, figured out what I'd missed, and was pleasantly surprised.

I personally skip Thanksgiving, and will continue to do so until I die. It's for personal reasons, mostly involving a really bad, sort of disfiguring accident (I always wear long sleeves for a reason) on a Thanksgiving when I was in high school. To a much lesser extent, it's also because turkey is terrible. It's always dry and terrible and people get offended if you don't want to eat it, almost as though not wanting any reminds everyone that turkey is terrible.

I just get pizza on the Wednesday then hang out with my dad and watch movies. I'm the black sheep of the family anyways, so the extended gatherings aren't really my thing.

Since nobody really owns a title (I think, I could be wrong), there could always be a movie with the same or similar about a trans girl who makes danishes. Granted, I think you'd get better results out of the film by having her being trans and a woman ancillary to her character beats. Treating her gender identity as just a part of who she is, rather than reducing the character's personality and arc to those traits, makes for better representation.

Now, I could be wildly wrong on that, but characters are best when they're characters first.

    @ThinkMinty:
Sorrytohear of your Thanksgiving and family-related misfortune.

Hmm. Maybe because turkey, as compared with industrial chicken, is a more active meat-animal?

Glad for ye with the dad and the pizza, though. Hmm. What sort of pizza do y'all favour, then?

    @JusticeZero:
    Sorry about the misgendering, comrade.

    @RavensCry:
    Excellent, good fer ye.

Hmm. Well. When you have laid the groundwork for acceptance with more of your contacts, so as to lessen the possible fallout?

Wondering. What tea do you most like?

Sorrytohear of that misfortune, then. Best wishes with your heaving yourself out of that ditch.

Sorry about the weather. Take care with your sewing. I'm sure you'll make some damn fine kimono... hmmm... correct me if I'm wrong? If it's the simple kimono, and for hot weather, isn't that the yukata?

Thankee kindly. Yeah, it does make sense, don't worry.

The... er... top-part, you mean? #2 is a dress. Again, thanks for the feedback, then.

Plus some peeps think it's cute, so there's an upside right there.

    Snip.

Oh well, I suppose I was overreacting to it a bit. I occasionally do that. Good advice all around.

In terms of turkey, I also find normal turkey disagreeable, but it becomes much more enjoyable when swimming in gravy (or somewhere close), and when that gravy is homemade using a mixture of turkey juice, cream, and heavily accented by removable vegatables and spices. Most gravy is terrible, and makes whatever it's on even more terrible, but the good stuff really brings out the turkey's natural texture and flavor.

In other news, I caught my uncle's cold over thanksgiving, so now I'm sick, but I'm trying dilute organic apple cider vinegar to make it go away more rapidly, because it turns alkaline in some complex stomach reaction, which I'd good for you in this coffee infused world of ours. I swear, that stuff is better than modern antibiotics.

Nah, it's fine. I have another year until another Thanksgiving, so I'm in a happy place.

Hmm. Maybe because turkey, as compared with industrial chicken, is a more active meat-animal?
Even with gravy, turkey is always dry and awful, it tastes like I'm eating wallpaper. I'm not huge on birdmeats anyways, but Turkey is the worst of the ones I've had.

Glad for ye with the dad and the pizza, though. Hmm. What sort of pizza do y'all favour, then?
Different sorts, as half-and-half pizza, my foodmeats end up always contaminating his vegetarian side, and that just doesn't work for either of us. I just grabbed twenty dollars worth of different slices from a great by-the-slice place.

I'm a carnivore, and I'm also very accommodating to those who aren't. It isn't that hard to be considerate, and food safety is important enough of a thing that the minimal effort it takes to be kind to veggies isn't even much of an ask as far as I'm concerned. Vegans are notably trickier to please, and their level of scrutiny, as an onus, is more on them than it would be for vegetarians. Then again, some of that opinion comes from being able to eat vegetarian stuff without it bothering me, but vegan stuff usually tasting kind of platitudinous and/or worse.

...to answer the question, Pepperoni for me, Cheese for him. It took a few years into adulthood to get the routine down so that we didn't end up driving all over the state trying to find warm food.

For a cold? Very possibly. Antibiotics don't do squat for cold or flu. They kill bacteria, not viruses.

Orange Pekoe or English Breakfast. Heat the pot well, make sure the water is boiling before you pour, and steep until it could curdle a stone. Keep the pot hot with multiple coverings.
    Milk first.

Try telling that to my doctor. I think she might be single-handly responsible for the modern presence of superbugs.

Oh dear lord . . . At the very most, they'll help with any opportunistic secondary bacterial infections, but other than that!

    Re:turkey

Have you had turkey from different sources? Turkey is like drywall if it's overcooked, but properly cooked Turkey can be moist and delicious.

People can certainly dislike foods for any reason, but a particular complaint that it's always [something] can be a sign that the person you get it from (especially if it's a holiday dish you can avoid the rest of the year if you care to) isn't preparing it well.

For instance, my father suffered through overcooked brussels sprouts in his formative years and dreaded them to the point we never had then growing up, a trained chef prepared them sauteed with onions, cranberries, and panchetta (fancy bacon) and he couldn't stop raving about them.

Ugh, the antibiotics shuffle. I get bronchitis every winter and most summers which usually manifests as a really bad cough and then gets worse. Two to three weeks, once I stop being able to sleep, I see a doctor and pray I have a bacterial cause intea of viral. Then the prescription of antibiotics (start feeling better in a few days ) or extra strength throat numbing and slightly addictive cough medicine starts...

Hell, just a light steaming, some butter , and they're just fine. Even liver and onions can be good if you cook it right.

It could be, but that sounds great anyway.

I'm not sure. It might depend a little on whether you would be comfortable with the people you haven't told learning through Facebook only.

So, so many times. Over and over. And over and over and over.
    Ugh, that sounds exhausting.
At least, it would feel draining to me.

Earl Grey or a strong breakfast tea. I drink a lot of fruit or mint teas too (especially since it's not good to drink drinks with caffeine after a certain time). I haven't even tried green teas.
I also like oolong tea and really wish more random shops sold bottled oolong tea than just the Japanese dollar store.

    Thanks. Yeah, 'tis.

    Neat.

Hm? Maybe I can't see one or two, but I meant this one.

    I go by they/them/their or he/him/his pronouns
