Dragon Ball in the Playground OOC II

This feeform game/universe is a spiritual successor to NarutoITP, BleachITP and RailITP games. It is an alternate continuity of the Dragon Ball universe created by Akira Toriyama that started out as "What if the Nameless Namekian never arrived on Earth?" and has since set on its own tracks.

Specifically, the main events of the game take place around the time when Namek is undergoing its great disaster - Years 261 to 431 according to DB calendar; In real life terms, comparable from 1500s to 1700s. Rather than a Namekian arriving on Earth and becoming Kami's apprentive, we've had a motley crew of space aliens and time-travellers running afoul of the current Kami and several other things.

To wit, the game being set in the past means a number of things:

• Majority of canon characters have not been born, and they're not intended to be major players in the game.
• Frieza has not been born yet, the empire of Frost Demons does not yet rule the galaxy, and planet Vegeta (still known as Plant) still exists. Planet Plant is inhabited by Tuffles.
• Saiyans exists, but they are non-spacefaring alien hilllbillies living in the boondocks of Plant and space.
• Earth's technology level is pre-industrial, with some exceptions.
• Capsule Corporation and the Briefs family obviously don't exist, but if someone wants to play their spiritual (or actual!) ancestors, that's fine by me.
• King Yenma exists as does King Kai, and the afterlife is intended to be the same as in canon. Both have made onscreen appearances.
• Fortuneteller Baba exists and has made an appearance.
• Mr. Popo may or may not exist.
• If someone wants to play the mentioned four characters (Yenma, Baba, Kai or Popo), that's okay by me.
• Majin Buu, Dabura, Beerus, Kaioshin etc. exists and some of the time-travelling characters have referred to them, but they've not made onscreen appearances and I'd prefer they remain in the background.
• Namekians exists, but are going through an extinction event. The equivalents Guru, Piccolo and Kami are supposed to be original player characters, if Namekians ever make an appearance.
• Budokai Tenkaichi (The Martial Arts World Tournament) does not exist. Maybe we can get it started in-game.

So on and so forth.

True to the source material's style, there are all sorts of wacky things. Like dinosaurs. And shapeshifters. And talking animals. Players are allowed to play as any of the colourful beings from Toriyama's 'verse. This includes everything from Sayajins to Frieza's species to Androids to other creatures inspired by mythology or science fiction, as long as you can justify them getting involved in the story somehow.

Similar to source material, the idea is also to make timeskips after some agreed-upon points, maybe even a few centuries after we've detailed the origin of Dragon Balls. Currently, a one-year timeskip is planned to happen after the current Dragon Balls have been gathered, after which at least some characters will leave to space to do combat with Frieza's ancestor. With some luck, and if player interest remains, we'll eventually make it to "modern day" and beyond.

Firstly, no godmodding (or godmoding). A far better explanation of godmodding than I can give is here.
Second, please remember that we plan to have a far more directed plot than Nexus. Please run any major spanners in the works past guys on this thread first.
Third, don't ruin anyone else's fun. I can't stress this enough.

New and Improved (but loose) Rules v.1.1!
These "rules" are more loose guidelines that serve another FFRPG very well so I adopted them into this one, because they work.

1. Consider asking to join in fights before jumping in.
   Please respect that all plots might not be open. Alternatively, if you yourself want to keep a fight cordoned off from other participants, say so in the OOC, at the beginning of your post, or both.
2. TALK major fights over with your opponent!
   This is to keep arguments about who's the better fighter, who should win, blablablablabla, out of the OOC. Of course, talk these things over in PM, or some kind of IM service. While arguments might break out over said PM/IM... It keeps it out of the OOC. Which is what we're trying to do here. On that note...
3. Don't argue in the OOC!
   They make the atmosphere oppressive, they make things less fun, and generally unpleasant and maybe even make the arguments larger than they need be. So, if you have a problem with someone, try to talk it out in PM or IM before using the OOC.

Just so you know Dragonian, Tuffles do not look any different from Humans. they do not have a tail like Sayains. They do not have anything that is different. Tuffles can pass as Human if they so wished. The main difference, is their mind. Tuffles are generally more advanced intellectually from humans.

Excamples of sensing godly ki: King Kai sensing Beerus coming, explains that mortals can not sense godly ki. Dende, in Super, as the Kami of earth, declaaring that Beerus's ki felt like that of a god. Super Saiyan God Goku could feel Beerus's ki.

No records of anyone being taught to sense godly ki.

In our game, Callins and presumably Yama can sense godly ki because they are/were kami. Also Yama is a god in his most powerful form.

Oxy can sense Godly Ki because he has godly ki.

And Ryuichi is some kind of divine being.

Age:Ryuichi ages slower (if at all) do to his genetics, and is able to alter his physical form down to the DNA with minor effort. His most common physical age is that of a teenager, and he tends to act like one as well.

About a century ago a woman by the name of Sasaki Ushio sought something that we all in some way seek; love. She was born into a clad of priests and priestesses who worshiped the dragon god shenron. Being a priestess she was not allowed to wed, or engage in intercourse. This wouldn't have bothered her except that she had always wanted a child. It was this that drove her to temporarily leave on a mission that few had succeeded in. She went to find the dragon balls.

After almost a full year of travels, and more than her fair share of adventure, she eventually found all seven (with help from some friends she made along the way) when they were gathered she went to a mountaintop near her monastery, a sacred place to her, and she brought the orbs together to make her wish.

When shenron appeared she did something that perhaps no mortal had done previously: She had an actual conversation with him. She explained her life and asked shenron about himself and what he thought of the world. Eventually after an hour or so had passed, shenron told her that his guardian was growing tired, and she must make her wish. She had completely forgotten about that! She had planned on simply asking for a child; that was, after all, why she left in the first place, but she had better idea now.

She wished to bear the son of shenron. He was silent for a moment as he considered. It was certainly within his power to make another Eternal Dragon himself, and putting it in a human shell was nothing.

"Your wish has been granted" he spoke in his thundering voice, and her stomach began to glow, the light receding into her.

Ushio then left her friends with heartfelt goodbyes as she returned to the monastery, happy with her wish and her baby on the way.

She endured much criticism from her fellows, but as she technically hadn't broken any rules they allowed her to stay. She continued on with her duties until she was so heavy with child that she could no longer work. Sadly, hours before she went into labor she began to grow severely sick, and passed away as Ryuichi was born.

The workers of the monastery had planned on at least caring for him until he could fend for himself, but were surprised to find he was already attempting to crawl and walk mere hours after he was born. He began talking before he was two months old, and his body grew out of its weak state within only a few years.

One day, when Ryuichi was about five, the workers came in to find him missing. He had left in the night before; he didn't belong with these people who he knew secretly shunned him for what he had done to his mother. He left to find one of his mother's friends he had heard them speak of. A mountain man living on the continent.

He trained with this man for decades, but the man was strangely cryptic, and refused to tell Ryuichi anything of his heritage. He lived with this man for fifty years, but he eventually died of old age, leaving Ryuichi on his own again.

The man had mentioned something about his father being a very, very powerful deity, and as most powers came from beyond earth, he decided to leave the planet. Along the beginning of his travels he encountered what looked like a wormhole, he entered it foolishly to test his mettle, and emerged unharmed minutes later. Unbeknownst to him this launched him far back in time into an alternate timeline of reality.

During the last fifty or so years Ryuichi has been searching the cosmos for his father to no avail. Through his time he faced many powerful foes, even stopping at planet plant to have a sword forged using Sayan crafting and Tuffle technology, along with his inherent magic.

He eventually caught wind of artifacts known as "dragon balls" that could summon a powerful being; this was his only lead so he decided to return to earth. He intends to use these to ask the being where and who is father is.

After finding out his father was RyuShen, an alternate god form of Shenron, Ryuichi has decided to dedicate his time unlocking the secrets of his eternal dragon heritage. He plans on learning most of this from Que and Zoyl, but some things they won't be able to teach him. His current goal is to grow strong enough to unlock his magic himself.

MARTIAL ARTS
Ryuichi has a literal century of training under his belt when it comes to martial arts and swordplay. He's learned every eastern style of fighting as well as styles from a multitude of other worlds.

Due to intensive training with Que, Ryuichi's speed has been drastically increased. His speed at distances less than 10 Miles is only a half second slower than instant transmission.

Ryuichi also has the ability to create an afterimage. Rather than using ki to move though, he simply moves so fast for a short distance that his image and ki signature remain in the previous location for a second. He can currently have up to 5 afterimages active at once. While they technically aren't copies, it has the effect of their being more than one of him for a split second.

After seeing a combat maneuver even once Ryuichi can usually perfectly recreate it.


KI
He doesn't know many Ki abilities due to his general lack of need, but he has found some useful.

Namely:
Flight
Instant transmission
Break cannon
Ki blast (generic and fire based)
Kameahmeah and galick gun
And explosive wave
Given time he's able to quickly learn Ki moves, but must see them in practice.


MAGIC
He can also transform his own body, but these differences almost never affect his Power level. When he changes into a race he's familiar with he gains the abilities of said race. (I.e. Turning saiyan and then going super with training) when he learns an ability this way he can use it (or a variation of it) in all of his forms.

He also knows how to use more general magic, but lacks the training to use it effectively in combat (aside from magical materialization)


DRAGON SOUL
(he does not know the name of this ability)

he currently only has one form that increases his power. It's a form in which he transforms the individual atoms and cells in his body, as well as his mind, and almost every aspect of his body to go into overdrive. This multiplies his power by a factor of 9, and lasts for a maximum of 24 hours. The price is that then for the next 30 hours he has overactive damaged cells and lacks the strength to fix it, effectively giving him excruciating cancer and forcing him to rest until he can change back. He is not at risk of dying from the cancer, but is extremely weak during this time.

The equation for this is currently: Power level times nine for X hours, then he is incapacitated for X times 1.25 hours

As he grows in power he intends to raise the factor as well as lessen or do away with the aftereffect.

Ryuichi carries a sword he refers to as Talon. It can cut through anything, but cannot harm a good person.

He also wears a robe styled shirt that is made of similar material to what friezas army would where in the future, his pants and boots are of the same make.

when Shenron's guardian eventually died he gave all of his remaining power to Shenron with one purpose: Make Shenron into an actual god. In the final moments his guardian made his own wish, that Shenron's life now be independent of his own.

Over the years Shenron became earths protector and it's only deity, honing his ki and magic to become entirely individual of all other dragons past and present.

He still answers to the dragon balls (by his own choice) and while his power is great enough to grant nearly any wish now, he still follows his own self appointed rules.

Essentially all of the events in the show happened in this universe, but with slight variations that will probably never be specified.

She looks like a normal human: She has red spiky tomboyish hair, slitted calm green eyes, thin teenager build, wearing a black jacket-white shirt-blue pants combo with boots. Her jacket has a small "Red Ribbon Army" logo on it.

She is kind of bitter that she was kidnapped to become a weapon for a mad scientist. She also feels melancholy that Android 22 died for her and that Android 21 became evil. However she also feels happy that she can help and protect others. Android 23 tries to keep a cool head about her situation. She knows that she can't let her past haunt her if she wants to move forward. However the more weirdness she starts to encounter the more sarcastic she will probably become.

History:

In an alternate Timeline, Dr. Gero made three more Androids after himself: 21, 22 and 23. For in this timeline, he failed to make Cell at all. The Z-Fighters defeated all the other Androids as a result, while 21, 22 and 23 were set to activate a few years after the rest as a back up plan. However because there was no Cell, the Z-Fighters were not strong enough to face Majin Buu because they didn't train enough, and so quickly died. However soon at the same time the three Androids were activated, investigated...and found that their mission had already been fulfilled by Buu. Their secondary objective, conquer the Earth so that Dr. Gero could rule was also impossible since Dr. Gero was already dead and Buu was carving his own path of destruction.

So the Androids decided that they were free, but that they couldn't be free with a big pink jelly-monster destroying everything, so they decided to fight against Buu. They weren't doing well, so Android 21 decided to do something risky: He grabbed Majin Buu and drained all the energy he could from Buu until he was dead. As a result Android 21 gained great power from Buu. However then his eyes suddenly flashed red- this was a timeline manipulated Tow and Mira into existence. Android 21 suddenly turned on Android 23, sucking away all her energy, Android 22 attacked Android 21 to save 23's life just in time, but as a result her power levels had fallen to about a mere 200. Android 22 shouted for 23 to run as she held Android 21 off.

Android 23, seeing no other option flew away as fast as she could while Android 22 fought to hold 21 in vain. However it wasn't long before Android 21 drained all of 22's energy and came after 23 for her last bits of energy. However Mira shows up to collect energy from Android 21 and they begin to fight. The resulting battle causes a rift in time that Android 23 falls through and wakes up on a planet that looks like Earth but not any Earth she recognizes. She has no idea what became of 21 or Mira, but to this day she misses Android 22. 22 was her friend, who sacrificed herself so that 23 may live, even if it was just for a few more minutes by the expectations they had at the time. She will not let Android 22's sacrifice go in vain however, and will fight to protect others in this new world she has found.

-Killed General Dawn and Dusk, and absorbed much of their power to get to power level 390. This caused friction with Callins because of her willingness to do anything to get 22 back.

-Attempted to fight Solitus, but when Shenron was summoned, flew back in anger to Callins instead, was surprised to find Android 22 there. Rushed to quickly heal Callins with medicine he needed afterwards.

Slushya and Kami Saga:
-thought up the plan that successfully defeated Slushya.

-made amends to Oxyribo and used the riches to get the Dragon Ball locations

-Used Kaio-Ken once, will never do so again.

-found out about Ramus, the Time Patroller

Built In Scouter:
She automatically sees the power level of anyone she looks at as a number. She can't even turn it off and thus its kind of annoying.

Drainer:
(Ok, this ability can get overpowered if not designed correctly, so this might be a little complicated)
Android 23's design makes it so that she is unable to gain power the ordinary way of training, as her muscles are all mechanical. Therefore she needs to drain power from her opponents to strengthen herself.
This draining ability has a few degrees of effect: The default degree is that every time she punches, kicks or touches somebody she drains a slight bit of their power, not enough to be noticeable but accumulated over time it equals the rate at which other people gain power.

However, it has other uses: draining some one directly as an attack and absorbing ki blast attacks

However due to her built in Scouter she knows exactly when to break contact and thus keep them alive.

Ki Blast Drain, cannot absorb all ki attacks effortlessly. There is a certain speed at which she drains it even at its fastest, and while that can be increased by getting more powerful, if the foe's ki attack is too powerful she won't be able to absorb all of it to be completely free of damage- consider Ki Blast Draining to be just another block effect, but with the added benefit of giving the user more energy to fight. If the attack is too power to block, or block entirely, Android 23 still gets hurt. For example, a Raditz-level Android couldn't absorb a Freeza-level attack entirely because something like the Death Ball is simply too powerful to absorb fast enough for them. Normal ki blasts however are easily absorbed.

Trace Laser:
A thin green beam that she fires from her hand. The laser goes in a straight line until the foe dodges and then changes direction. How many times it does so, depends on her power level. Thus you need to dodge the attack multiple times, but if your good at blocking, you can shrug it off easy.
Variants:
Army Trace Laser:
Used against multiple opponents the Trace Laser goes though them and then locks on to the next target instantly repeatedly until they are all dead.
Trace Sniper:
A particularly long range version of the Trace Laser, can hit targets with accuracy without even being in visible eyesight.

Machine Gun Fist:
A move where she punches somebody as if her fist was an assault rifle, actually punching them dozens of times in less than a second but all people see is a single vibrating punch.

Super-Strength and Speed:
Her mechanical muscles give her both of these relative to her current power level. They cannot be build themselves up, but the energy she is absorbed is converted to make her stronger. However Dr. Gero designed her specifically to be the light, accurate and fast one of her Android group, so she is notably faster than someone of power level normally is.

Flight:
She of course has flight, through a ki-to-anti gravity converter engine.

Organic Components:
She still has some organic capabilities, namely she can eat and drink and taste but her stomach has been altered to convert it all into ki to power her, some of which is used to stop her from aging or at least slow it down. She doesn't need to breathe though, or eat or drink, its all energy to her but food still tastes good. Dr. Gero didn't want his Androids dying from silly things like starvation and wanted them to last long.

On subject of Dr. Gero she is angry at and doesn’t want to talk about him, preferring to keep to lighter topics. She has no regrets for her actions to save 23 and would gladly do it again but does regret that 21 couldn’t be saved. She prefers to keep a happy, energetic face on the situation but is also the one that is more likely to react very angrily or sadly to bad situations. She does however share some of 23’s sarcastic humor. She also likes kitties and cuddling them, unfortunately this extends to any large cat that can’t resist her super-grip.
