    Brandon moves into the field, his bow trained on the goblins, awaiting their next threatening move.
    Xaaten blows by him in a full tilt run, kicking up a bit of dirt as he comes to a halt.
    A bolt of magic and one of steel zip from Sargrin and Dexter, both finding their respective targets. Sargrin's missile makes a beeline toward the caster by the road, while Dexter's shot can't be dodge by the armored goblin nearby.

    Edgar's first shot pierces the caster's gut. It quickly keels over in front of him, a soft this as he hits the ground. His follow up shot [at 3?] hits the grass.

    The soldier (2) on the road slowly moves forward, obviously acting cautiously as he approaches. The caster (5) near him follows his actions while cowering behind the soldier.

    Seeing no magical acts, Brandon takes a shot at the soldier nearest to him but it goes wide. The soldier (1) then charges Brandon. His morningstar attack is deadly accurate, but not deadly strong.
    Brandon takes 3 damage!

    With Xaaten slightly off balance from his tear across the field, he can't manage to dodge the dagger from the nearly naked goblin (3) close to him.
    Xaaten takes 2 damage!

    Dexter jerks back the latch to the locked position and jams another bolt into his crossbow. Quickly sighting it, he aims to Brandon's at the uninjured soldier goblin, trying to convince it to remain away. If the soldier appears poised to double-team Brandon, he will drop his crossbow and advance to join the fray. "I think we have their attention now," he comments blithely to the wand-wielding mage at his side.

    By now Edgar knows well enough not to intervene in the halfling's battles, as the small warrior is as likely to jump into the path of the arrow as thank him. Instead he moves a few steps towards the road, stopping to crouch beside the closest goblin, and trying to save the undeserving creature's life.

    Xaaten laughs harshly and ducks into the dagger, staring into the goblins eyes so it can see him unflinchingly take the blow and then charge right at the creature, his scythe spinning and whirring in a flurry of steel death around him.

    The goblin watches as Brandon grabs for his sword and strikes when his hands are occupied. His follow up swing with the large blade is dodged by the goblin.
    Brandon takes 3 damage!

    Dexter's bolt is on target, but the goblin he has targeted throws its shield in the way to take the force of the bolt.

    Edgar tries to stops a bleeding wound, but taking out the arrow to apply pressure seems like a bad idea after the fact. The caster remains in poor condition.

    Xaaten has no issues driving his scythe through the chest of his recent attack. As he pulls away, the goblin, falls in a heap.

    Sargrin replies to Dexter We really do, lets push our advantage of surprise and not give the goblins time to react

    Sargrin locks eyes with the spellcaster just before he hides behind the goblin in front of him. With a flourishing movement of his hand Sargrin casts a sleep spell. He continues very slowly walking forward keeping his attention on the goblins

    The caster Sargrin was staring down seems to shrug off the effect. His armored partner glows faintly for a moment, a spell's effect going off, but it is not enough. The soldier falls asleep.

    Goblins!
    The caster (5) yells and finally slaps the soldier (2) in front of him. Awoken, he stands up, and grabs his morningstar from the ground. He seems to busy waking up to do much more.

    The other soldier strikes at Brandon. This time, the blow glances off his armor, leaving him uninjured.

    The rest seem unable to recover from their wounds.

    Even with the soldier acting as a meaty shield (aka cover), Dexter's bolt able to hit the target. The caster does half a spin before falling to the group after the bolt goes through one side of its chest.

    Goblin 5: 8 damage, dying.

    With that shot, only the soldier on the road remains...

    With the wide open field, there is nothing to stop the Mighty Xaaten from zipping across the field again.

    Edgar's touch is enough to stop the blood flowing from the hole in the Goblin's gut left by his arrow.

    Goblins!

    The remaining soldier meets Xaaten's approach with his spiked mace.
    Xaaten takes 3 damage!

    PCs TURN!

    Despite the small melee (pun intended), Sargrin's missile has no issue finding its target. The soldier is hit on his side with a pop!

    Dexter jams another crossbow bolt into the contraption and lines up a shot, but holds his fire as he sees Xaaten close to battle. If the goblin runs away such that Dexter gets a clear line, he'll let loose.
