Trog's Tavern CCLI

[Recaiden]

A man and a machine walk into a bar.

The man is a thing young thing with raven-black hair and steely-grey eyes. He doesn't wear a shirt but he does wear a katana at his side. He speaks to his companion as they walk up to take their seats.
"So if the airship was destroyed by an angry god,"
"It was."
The machine that answers is built in a shape like a human woman, shining like silver, and moves in a precise, unchanging clockwork way. Its wind-up key is carried in one four-fingered hand, and it's dressed all in green.
"And the jetpack can't carry us right now,"
"It can't."
"How did we get gown here?"
"Don't you know Trog's is always around the corner?"
"Alex, how are we going to get back?"

The man asks for water, and the machine orders 'something light, but with a big loopy straw'.
"We'll figure something out, Winds. They'll send down a basket."

[Darkcomet]

Raril is startled out of deadtime, hearing his phone ring. He answers it and explains to Harley they've picked up a new person for the group and that they would soon be headed to the library. She could meet them there if she wished to.

The conversation ended, he asks the other two "Ready to do some research?"

"Likewise. I could even pop a few extra eyes and limbs for the occasion if you need some multi-book speed-reading done," Four jokes.

[Morty]

With a loud #bang' the door of Trog's opens and a man rolls into the tavern. The man seems to roll all over the floor right in front of the bar. People with keen eyes might notice ared and a light green dust disapearing as he slows down. For a Moment the man keeps lying on the ground, his pants and shirt covered in the dirt he just rolled through. As he realizes that he is on the gorun, he stands up immediatly, leaning on the bar and tries to appear cool.

"Gimmi a beer. no glas." he sais to the waitress and takes a look around.

The man will notice a young, athletic tiefling with brown skin and red eyes, looking at him with some concern. He's dressed in a leather vest with white, short-sleeved shirt underneath.

"Are you alright, sir?" he asks.

[Zefir]

The man hasn't take note of the tirfling until he spoke up.

"Me?" he asks back. "I'm fine, 'sir'."
A short break follows as he stares at the tiefling.
"I'm rather concerned about your well beeing. You look like you either have made a mistake or something posess your body."

[Morty]

The tiefling looks quite perplexed and unsure what exactly the man means.

"I am... perfectly fine. No mistakes happened, and I'm not possessed. What made you think I was?"

[Zefir]

"Well...." he says and points out the obviouse. for example the horn(if he got some) the tail (if he got that) and the skin and eyes.
"Those things arw quiet uncommon for people to be gentle."

[Morty]

The tiefling does, indeed, have a pair of horns and a tail. He raises a hand to his horns.

"Oh... well, you must be new around here. Horns and tails aren't the most strange thing people can have."

His skin, meanwhile, is simply dark, like that of a real-world person from the Middle East.

[Zefir]

"Yeah," the man replies " this tavern wasn't here last I visited and those things ARE really strange around. Are you a summoned-one?"

[Morty]

"No. I'm a member of a people called tieflings," the man replies. "This place is called Trog's Tavern, in the Nexus. You may have ended up here by accident. It happens quite often."

[Zefir]

"Really?" he says not really beliving what the tiefling says. "Your 100% sure your not summoned by someone? I mean it would be really cool to learn that spell for sure. And I'm aware that this place is called Trog's, but Nexus? That's a bit hard to belive."

[Morty]

"No, I'd remember if I was summoned," Fayyaad assures the man. "I was born like any man, and my mother is a tiefling like me. I came here on my own later. Hard to believe it may be, but it's true. People often take a while to get used to this place."

[Zefir]

"Really?" The man still seems to not belive it. "I don't know I traveled through dimensions. How can I proof your words? Not that i have much to mistrust you, but I don't got more to totalyl trust you. It's just strange since I enterd this tavern at my hometown."

[Morty]

Fayyaad spreads his arms.

"Any magic or other means of recognizing people's nature will tell that I'm a mortal, born of humans and devas. If you have any, cast it. I have nothing to hide."

[Zefir]

The man looks a bit confused. "Well that won't help. Summoned can also be mortals. AND I meant this Nexus thing you talked about. I'm still not good with words it seem."

[Morty]

"In that case, you'll have to see for yourself," the tiefling says. "We're in the Nexus, where worlds and places converge. Some come here by accident, others on purpose. Like I did. My name is Fayyaad ibn Haashid al-Zafar, by the way."

[Zefir]

"Seems like." the man replies. "Nice to meet you Fey Yard ibn H-shild al-Zafar? Was that right? My name is..." he offers a hand to shake but stops. he takes his hand back, offering the other one "So I am..." he stops again. Then he starts searching through his pocket, getting his wallet out. Searching through it also gives no clue about his name.
"Well I guess I lost my name. What a pity."

[Morty]

"You may simply call me Fayyaad. I know my full name is long," the tiefling says. "You... forgot your name?"

[Zefir]

"Well, I can only say I don't know it." he answers. "I can't say if I ever knew it in the first place."
He shrugs.
"Can't help it. Then i need to go as 'UNKOWN'"

[Morty]

Fayyaad frowns.

"So you don't know your name? Calling you 'unknown' will be a bit awkward."

[Zefir]

"Really?" he says. "I don't see what you mean. It would be the truth and going around taking another name might be more awkward, when I remember my first name. If I got one."
"So what's you suggestion."

[Morty]

"I don't really have a suggestion. I'm just surprised you don't remember your own name," Fayyaad says.

[Shadowcaller]

Ambrosia decides to quickly circle around Wenomir, her form once again blurring as she in a quick pace tries to move around the warrior. She is scanning for an opening and will take what she get's once she moves forward with a feint towards his head to draw out his guard, if he's fast enough to counter it. She will then, in the same move, reverse her blade and spin it underhand to slice it upwards in an attempt to get underneath Wenomir's arm.
If he counter-attacks, she will attempt to swing the pommel of her blade up to intercept his blade and knock it aside, before sweeping the edge of her blade along his inner arm.

[Morty]

Ambrosia will see Wenomir's eyes narrow slightly, as if in surprise. It's a brief and delicate change in expression, though, that's accompanied by a lightning-quick defence bordering on prescient.

His sword at first moves upwards to guard his head, as though he was taken in by Ambrosia's feint. Then, however, it's suddenly lower again, almost as if it simply changed places without moving through the intervening space. He brings it down against the scholar's blade, the impact possibly sending a jolt down her arm. It's an aggressive defence, meant to push Ambrosia's weapon downwards and reverse her momentum.

[Zefir]

The man doesn't seem to be supriesed in any way.

"Maybe I hit my head when I came in." He says. "Not that I feel any pain at my head at all. Maybe it comes to me when time pass by. For now I just need to deal with it."

[Morty]

"Hm." Fayyaad is still confused by the situation, but the man doesn't seem to worried. So he'll just take it in stride. "So, you said you were trying to get somewhere else when you came here?"

[Zefir]

"Nononononono. I was at my hometown and saw this new place. I ehh.... went here ins some way and you told me I'm in the Nexus." he clears things up.
"This is Trog's as on the sign outside, but I don't know why I should be in the nexus."

[Morty]

"The Nexus draws people in without their intention or knowledge," Fayyaad says. "I meant to come here, but many people don't. It's the first time I've heard of the entrance to Trog's appearing somewhere like that. But I haven't been here long."

[Zefir]

"huh." the man replies. "The more I hear the more I think someone needs to destroy the nexus to stop this draw in. Is that the reason you came here? Or, if you allow, can I ask you for your reason to come to this Nexus by your own will?"

[Morty]

"I came here because my homeland isn't safe for me right now," Fayyaad explains. "Resistance against an empire that oppresses us is brewing... and I was a bit too vocal. So I had to leave for now."

[Zefir]

"So you are a political refugee?" he says. "Well that suprises me a bit, but then again your whole existance suprises me since I never saw or heared of anything like you."
