She was able to turn down that offer so easily. Can't say I'd be able to do the same in her shoes. Never having to worry about money again is a powerful motivator, and you know what they say . . . You can always make new friends.

Anyways, I'm willing to say good job on this one. Maybe this is the first step on the road to getting over my dislike of Mac. Though I didn't realize she was a Mrs. Probably a typo, but it still made me stop and say to myself, "Wait. What?"

I'm so glad we're finally getting some real Mac growth. It'll make Season 2 Asami so much more enjoyable.

But I must confess that I'm a bit scared of one thing: Allie's tendency to make glitches. It would be totally anticlimatic, so that's at least possible. It would bring a semi-victory here: on one hand, the team is more united than ever; on the other hand, they would have to deal with a great threat with Mrs Weers interfering with their game.

I haven't seen much of soul eater, but the great scythe attack of Mac and Allie were used several times. We have 2 images of it, from 2 distinct episodes. I don't recall the one in page 59, but the last one (page 60), is from the cemetary fight... And this attempt didn't go well.
Maka triped on a rock and fall, the attack is missed...
Looks like a fumble to me.

Edit : Never mind. strip #61 is posted and no glitche to be seen.

Also, from a previous strip, but I like the reversal in Mac and Allie relationship around this table. At first, it was always Allie going "No worries, I've got you covered !" doing her best to fit Mac's style, but now it's Mac who's covering up for Allie and admiting it gleefully. Really love these two dynamics and looking forward to how it'll develop further.

I'm really abashed by the behaviour of Mary Weers toward her own son...
I've already talked about the fact that she was annoyed by the disturbance of the group arrival but stay steal first, and then wanted to call security as soon as she saw Damien (and no hello at all).

But here, it's going worse:
Manny : "Mrs, I've bothered you with details about lambda guys... Now, I'll talk to you about your son—"
Mary Weers : "Oh no, I don't even want to think I have a kid. NUKE!"
...
Damien : "Still here."

With all the conditions and requirements tied to Lex' Excalibur build- many of them contradicting each other -being a blank slate is the only way to wield him.
Well, I guess the Witchqueen had another one. Presumably cheating.
Plus symbolism. A blank slate is the best way to represent Manny right now.

And it seems the Witchqueen isn't even pretending to play fair anymore.
I mean trying to declare a build you used yourself illegal?
Makes me wonder wether all the builds she used were strictly rules conform.

The legacy dice part was very nice, I like that. In the end, Manny's journey grows on him.
The horrible manipulation from Avatar campaign can be put int the past now... The brothers can regrow their ties.

It really is a lovely end to Manny's "finding himself" arc.

The big question now is...what role will Manny have in the next Korra arc?

Anyone else notice how Damien went from calling Mary Weers "mother" (in white) to simply "Mary" (in brown). Looks like Damien got over some demons too. :)

I've always thought about it like this:

Mac is a wizard. She toils away, memorizing and plotting the best outcomes to harness power. She fails, learns, and is remarkably consistent at all times, but never exemplary.
Shelby is a sorcerer. She thinks it's fun, tries crazy things, takes risks and comes out shining every time. She's capable of amazing feats of power but sometimes just gets lazy.
Allie is a bard. She isn't powerful, she just wants to make sure her friends are having fun (and is defined by a love of music and dancing).

I'm getting the feeling that "Peppy" is a more affectionate nickname for Allie now. I'm glad Mac's warmed up to her.

EDIT: I love how everyone always cries at the "EARTH! FIRE! AIR! WATER!" opening. It makes me feel less weird
