Might be. Try moving it out of the city/selling it, see if that does anything?

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Just to make sure, you are trying to shoot my frigates, right? I don't think subs can attack units on land.
All else fails, I'd re-download the save file and start from scratch.Spoiler

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
That's really bizarre, and I hate to see your main way of countering my attack just plain not work because the game is being a jerk.
You've tried attack with right-click, the number pad, and attacking from the unit menu, right?
Oh hey is there something stopping you attacking while there's a peace treaty deal up? I sent you an insulting counter offer, maybe you have to decline that first.Spoiler

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
The first and the third. And it's just that unit. Other units are attacking fine.
I don't believe it's the peace deal for the above reason. I'll try the number pad, and declining the deal but,
The hotkey isn't working, and declining the peace deal didn't work.
I'm going to try one last thing before I take a nap. (Had to bring my mother in the hospital.) Using IGE, I'm going to see if a sub in a city can attack usually.
Okay a sub in a city cannot attack. (Wish I had known that before I brought the sub, but ah well) I'm going to guess the land tiles in the way stop my sub from shooting from lakes even though it shows otherwise, does that make sense to people?
If so I'll take my turn sometime later.
Turn taken.Last edited by Illven; 2017-04-25 at 06:42 PM.

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Not being able to shoot through land tiles makes sense. City tiles counting as land tiles for this purpose, even when the sub is on them, seems like unintended behavior to me, but I guess that's how the game works in real life.
Sorry if I do better in this war because of cheese, but I'm just gonna keep that guy penned in there as much as possible and wait for your subs from every other port city to come destroy me, then. I mean I was going to do that anyway so you can't buy more subs, but you know what I mean.
EDIT: Oh hey the one from not-Panama's already here yay.Last edited by Nerd-o-rama; 2017-04-25 at 09:59 PM.

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Spoiler: No screencap war summary for spectators, A-M EditionI'll level with you guys, I'm not feeling the roleplay, so let me just summarize this past war I had with the Netherlands in brief.
My primary objective was to disrupt William's economy and either destroy (unlikely) or force the use of (likely) the Great Scientists that experienced civ players normally hoard until they have research labs and maxed out science per turn. In both of these objectives we were 100% successful (well, 1 or 2 of his scientists might have scarpered. It's hard to block road movement). I never intended to take a city (although I wouldn't have said no to Rotterdam/San Francisco), as I don't even have cannons, let alone the artillery or bombers needed to compete with the Netherlands' defensive buildings. On what I assume was his first Great Scientist bulb, the Netherlands also got submarines, which (interface glitches aside) basically meant my navy of wood-hulled frigates was on an expiration timer. A short one. I did manage to snag one of his frigates with a privateer, but he wised up to that trick pretty fast.
Essentially, all I did was feint toward Rotterdam with my frigates and left them as shields while the main part of my army landed and started slowly tearing up all of the Netherlands' tile improvements. His gpt and reserves are both in the toilet right now and I don't see any more GScis, so as far as I'm concerned, mission accomplished. I did lose basically my entire navy to him and half my merchant marines to a city-state he couped early on, but my economy is still strong enough I can just buy a cargo ship per turn without actually losing money, and I'll shortly be able to replace my frigates with battleships and carriers.
Do need to start rushing Combustion to counter his subs, though. The Ottomans probably have them as well and either of them could basically choke me with a naval blockade. Not sure whether to go Atomic Theory first or not.
He also conveniently left a key road component in neutral territory so right now I've just got some foreign legions pillaging it and sitting on it to keep him from repairing it. Maximum lame troll tactic.Last edited by Nerd-o-rama; 2017-05-02 at 08:47 PM.

As per the blood pact we agreed to, you have been informed of any uranium near or in your territory that we have seen. In exchange you will devote your entire group of delegates how ever many they may be at the time, to voting down the proposal to embargo the Netherlands.

Re: Civ 5 GMR 16 Reject Earth Edition
Through the efforts of a brave band of heroes from...whichever city it is that gave us all this outdated cavalry, Ife has been liberated from Polynesian oppression and is now part of Ankh-Morpork's sphere of influence. Please make a note of it.
Spoiler: CarthageSorry for sniping Bratislava there, but I needed money, as well as a distraction for Illven's scouts. You can have it back any time you like, I won't put any more resources into allying it. You can even have Ife if you really need the extra faith but I kind of wound up with 150 Inf automatically there.
More importantly, we're a couple of turns away from having an unbeatable coalition majority in the world congress, which means we can force through the embargo on the Netherlands if stopping him economically is still something you're interested in - after that point I'll be able to bankrupt them at any time just by declaring war.
In return, and just to prove I'm not trying to sneak a diplomatic victory in under your nose, how would you like to be the next host?
EDIT: Whoops forgot to actually upload my turn brb reverting.
EDIT EDIT: Now it's your turn Carthage. Machiavellian mastermind over here.Last edited by Nerd-o-rama; 2017-05-20 at 05:54 PM.

Spoiler: OttomansThey're useful for a variety of energy-producing purposes. I'm sure you'll discover some very entertaining uses in the near future, just avoid anyone getting too close without lead underpants.
I'm in need of some of your shiny white ore that makes shiny light grey metal, and it seemed like a fair trade, since you have none of one and I havr none of the other. If you don't need the rocks though, I can offer you 5 gpt for one unit of Aluminum, scaled up to however many you can spare.Spoiler
