Still in progress Sharklord
Creating a character who's very shark based, but a ranged character.
My first question is can I use Quick Draw to throw more than two weapons in a round provided I have a high enough BAB to do so?
Sexond, what kind of ranged weapon would you think a shark-based character would have?
Third, what MELEE weapon would you think a shark-based character would have?
Fourth, what classes woul you recommend? I'm trying to work in beguiler for a "invisible hunter" feel, but I'm having difficulty finding anything else I can take using Beguiler.
I would really appreciate it if WotC made more water spells >_<

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
Melee weapon: there is the shimalo koala: a spiked club made out of sharks' teeth in dragon 352
In Dragon 315 there are Sharktooth Gauntlets
There are also steel fins in underdark
And the Stingray Whip in stormwrack
A Meteor Hammer/Dragonchain (with the end of the chain shaped like a tail in OOOR if your DM is real nice, a bear trap on the end)
Also a serrated (dragon 358) weapon, maybe a scimitar or cutlass, something with a high critical range
As to class: swordsage or warblade maybe? Or use shadow conjurations and say they are made of water?
For that matter: natural attacks (bite and slam) would fit with the shark theme... an essentia manipulator might fluff the blue glow as water...Last edited by Gildedragon; 2016-03-30 at 12:20 PM.

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
Stormwrack its a good read for water based adventurers. One of my players is a orca man and he hits like a goddamn truck. Trust me stormwrack is the best resource for this.

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
Harpoon all day.
Consider a net, too. Though if you pick up a net, theres a feat in..Complete Warrior, I want to say, that runs net and tridents.
Otherwise, bite people. Go Amphibious Anthropomorphic Shark and eat people. See how many size increases you can smuggle in, grab Swallow Whole.
For classes, why Beguiler? When I hear Sharklord I think Black Blood Cultist or something similiar.

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
If normal sharks in normal water leave you feeling disappointed, try asking your DM if you can summon sharks with the Acidborn template. There's a side note/box/thing that lets you make Acidborn creatures with other hazardous base liquids too. Lavasharks, anyone?

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
What page/section of Dragon 315 are those sharktooth gauntlets in?
And is there any way to make a bite-focused fighter? I have Sharklord levels so I don't need to be an amphibious shark.

Page 41, with the Sharkblood Cultist
For info on natural attacks... maybe a look int a totemist handbook? Improved Natural Attack is probably a good choice; and there is a soulmeld that is like Power Attack for Bite
Also in Savage Species there is the Sharktooth Staff with is a grappling weaponLast edited by Gildedragon; 2016-03-30 at 03:10 PM.

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
Occasionally I give sharks a level in Warlock, to model having laser beams on their heads (which sharks should have on principle).

Re: Still in progress Sharklord
Their stats aren't that impressive: like a kukri with piercing damage and that can't be disarmed. But it is flavor-adequate, light, and they leave your hands free (like a gauntlet).
In the mag they are drawn to look like Shredder's claws; but there is an example in the British Museum (just a google away) that look cooler (to my taste) and much much sharkier.
