Silly Plots 2: Electric Boogaloo

"No!" Laela scoops up her rabbit and clutches him to her chest. The rabbit gives no protests to this slightly rough treatment. "Thumper is my friend and you can't have him." Laela suddenly stands up and marches out of the room with her rabbit.

[The Frescot Home]

"Oh c'mon Laela," Adir gets up and goes after her, grinning all the while. He drops his voice into a deep, throaty growl. "I'm hungryyy."

Laela's marching might have to turn to scurrying, else she might get caught and snatched up into her fathers arms as he begins to give chase! He makes quite a bit of noise when he moves even a little quickly. He probably shouldn't be bounding through the house.

Ilknur keeps her eye on the trees as she flies alongside Niji. The bits of brush that do come close aren't thick enough to force her to land, but she'd rather not get a bunch of twigs in her feathers.

She tries to look at the sign, but, well, there's a bit of a problem with that. She spares a look at the satyr, before looking back down at Niji. "So, can you read in sleeping guy? Cause I can't."

Niji nods to Ilknur. She understands.
”Hey down in front! Move it!!” she hollers.
The satyr falls over in surprise. He recovers himself, swearing, but when he sees not one but two pretty ladies in his crossing his eyes practically bulge, and he scrambles to lean against a nearby tree as if he’d been there coolly the whole time.
“Good morning ladies. I hope I’m not interrupting a date.” He says, wiggling his eyebrows. His eyes begin wandering immediately.

Laela shrieks and breaks out into a full on sprint when her dad starts chasing her. She squeals and laughs all the way. She can't go far, though, because she has to slow down significantly to head down the stairs.

Ilknur rolls her eyes. She should've guessed at this one. "Eyes up here, bucko. I just wanted to see where this sign pointed to." With that, she tries to brush off the wandering-eye syndrome poster child over there and see if she can get a good sense of what she's near.

The two sign posts read LAKE ACRIUS, MAGIC POOLS, and WISHING WELL.
The satyr is undeterred. He whistles.
"So it is a date?" he asks. Niji giggles.

Laela shrieks and breaks out into a full on sprint when her dad starts chasing her. She squeals and laughs all the way. She can't go far, though, because she has to slow down significantly to head down the stairs.

Adir doesn't dare try to snatch her on the stairs! She can probably gain some ground. He continues making steadily more terrific and hungry sounds, throat warbling as he plods along with arms outstretched.

He probably tries to lunge and catch her before she gets too far if he can, pulling the girl up close to his face and peppering her cheek with a barrage of kisses! "Mmm!" He tries to pat Thumper's head, too, if that was all successful. He licks his lips. "Now I get rabbit for dinner and little dryad for dessert."

Ilknur rolls her eyes at the satyr. "Well whatever it is, you're not invited."
She hovers closer to the signs. "Hey, a wishing well. Are those actually real in the Nexus? Bunch of bunk up where I'm from."

[Deathkeeper]

"They told me that the woods are magic. So it probably is! Let's go see!" Niji says excitedly.

The satyr, dejected, whistles. Loudly.
There is a rumbling sound from out in the woods.
Uh-oh.

Laela squeals again as she's scooped up. It's a good thing there's no sleeping babies here right now. She pushes at Adir's face with her little hands. "No you don't!" She still insists even if she's caught. Daddy is way too fast.

"Yeah, why not! We can try and get something co-"

Ilknur winces at the whistling. Cripes, didn't they know that was loud? And then she hears rumbling throughout the woods. Definitely nothing good. "Hey Niji, how fast can you move?"

[Deathkeeper]

Niji, gulps eyeing the woods and the innocently beaming satyr.
"Um, pretty fast. Why...? You have a plan?" she asks, already starting to hurriedly slither in the way the sign was pointing to the well.

[Devixer]

"Yeah, it's called Getting the Heck Away From Here. You in?" Ilknur flaps her wings and picks up speed as she heads in the direction of the well, as directed by the sign.

Niji nods and slithers as fast as she can.
The following minutes are likely stressful. Satyrs constantly duck out from behind trees. Large, small, all shapes, though few in any state of dress.
And each and every one of them has a pick-up line. Each is worse than the last.
Niji quickly lags behind, not able to keep up with a flying harpy. She also has a much harder time dealing with the particularly rude suitors who actually try to make physical contact. Ilknur might turn to see one or two getting knocked senseless by the Niji's hand.

Adir emits a gust of his own laughter as he's pushed at. He adjusts his tattooed arm around her and her rabbit. He positively beams at the adorable little girl. "Okay, okay. Well if you two aren't my dinner, maybe I had better go buy something else to eat. What about you? You hungry, kiddo?"

Chevin takes out hir knife again, in case the thing is dangerous, double-checks that Felandria really is very large at the moment, and undoes the restraints on the liberated pirate container.
There's a flash of - not darkness, exactly, but low-contrastness. Color seems to drain out of the scene and pour into the container even as something bursts out of it - a ragged hunk of metal and stone, roughly ball-shaped, which launches itself at Felandria like a cannonball.

Chevin takes out hir knife again, in case the thing is dangerous, double-checks that Felandria really is very large at the moment, and undoes the restraints on the liberated pirate container.

She will do her best to try and catch the thing, while being grateful the spacesuit has gloves.

"Cripes." Ilknur's pretty easily able to evade each of these satyrs and their horrid attempts at speaking, with her speed and agility when airborne. But when she turns and sees Niji having some trouble, she's quick to double back to help her.
"Leave her alone! As she speaks, she flaps her wings rather decisively at a few of the satyrs accosting her friend. Though nothing seems to happen, they'll probably notice the slices of air coming towards them, wind so sharp and fast it might just cut through skin.

It's moving with an tremendous amount of force, but Fel is even more tremendous, and grabs hold of the thing. It rattles and struggles in her grip, trying to get free. And the ball starts to reshape itself, with spikes spreading across its surface. In just a moment they'll shoot up from under her gloves too.

Chevin whirls around, taken by surprise. It's so fast!

All but the most brave of the satyrs scatter as their touchy compatriots sprout bleeding injuries. The ones that they like danger are sufficiently distracted when Niji fumbles a vial from her bag and tossed it at a bunch of them, releasing a strawberry-scented cloud that renders the satyrs within just as distracting to them as Niji and Ilknur. Niji scurries away as the satyrs crowd their friends.
”That only lasts ten minutes. We gotta hurry!” she tells Ilknur as she goes.
”And thank you.” she adds, sincerely.

"Thank me when we're out of this mess!" Ilknur flies beside Niji, but makes it a point to stick closer to her.

With the satyrs bleeding, terrified, or distracted, the two young women can proceed swiftly but safely to the well, which sits in a glade on a small hill. It looks very plain and stereotypical. Next to it is a plaque:
The Spirit of Giving: make a wish for your friends!

”So I guess we gotta come up with something for each other. But now that we’re out of there-” Niji tries to give Ilknur a tight hug.
”Thanks. You were sweet.”

Felandria feels the increasing pointiness and is forced to release the thing, which she does forcefully away from herself and Chevin.

"I don't know!" Chevin is a terrible shot. Shi hasn't even looked at the laser pistols. Also shi couldn't read the settings anyway. But if I recall, Fel took a laser pistol herself. And they *do* have a stun setting, which is more of an 'electrical zap' than a 'burning laser'.

The thing is hurled away, but it has control over its flight, and quickly slows its momentum and reorients itself, turning its spikiest side towards Fel and accelerating again!

Its flight grows erratic, and it crashes down into the floor of the hold and rolls around aimlessly.

Chevin approaches the fallen killer-rock cautiously, a hand on the hilt of hir knife.

"Yes!" Laela says without hesitation. She's a growing girl after all. "Thumper's not though. He already ate."

Its flight grows erratic, and it crashes down into the floor of the hold and rolls around aimlessly.

"You got it!...what is it?"
Chevin approaches the fallen killer-rock cautiously, a hand on the hilt of hir knife.

I don’t know, I’ve never seen one of these before.

Felandria keeps the stunner pointed at the creature.

The thing does not seem to talk. It just rattles around, giving no indication that it understands Felandria.

"Some kind of wild space animal? Or just a trap for anyone sneaking around the hold?"
