The group returns to the theatre, stopping just outside as Thomas exits. He spots you immediately, and approaches. "I see you've taken care of that pest...is there anything else I can help you with?"

Harold smiles primly. "not unless you know where the owner is. Although I'll admit a passing curiosity to see things behind the scenes here...you might want to send someone around to look for traps first."

Actually, we came to get our payment. Also, did you find any of the halflings possessions beneath the stage? We should probably collect those as well.

Thomas blinks. "But, I've already told you. Mr. Gortana isn't coming by until tomorrow - and until then, he'll be rather busy. But as for any findings..." he looks to back to the theatre. "...I had none. Though, I admit, the auditorium is very dark, and I couldn't search well without any oil for our lanterns. I was just about to go get some, actually..." He silently ponders for a moment. "If you're interested in taking anything he left around, feel free to claim it. Really, you'd be doing me a favor to help clean up after that scoundrel."

Flare gazes curiously at the ring before slowly looking up and peering at Thomas with a few nods. "Alright. Tomorrow then. And yeah, I think it might be worth our while to look through the place again. I'm sure that will be worth a little extra, to disarm the traps he's left? You'd better take charge here Ritan."

Thomas nods. "We would surely be in your debt if you found and disarmed any traps, as well." he pauses. "You managed to hunt down that halfling, earlier - do you have more torches...or whatever you used?"

While most of the group gives very little effort into the search, Flare manages to find a few things of interest:

Beneath the stage is a small, dirty cot. Beside it is a sack (filled with rations), and a harmonica.

Aside from the traps you've already come across, there appear to be none.

Finally, Flare locates the blade that was thrown at Len earlier, still embedded into the stage front. A close look reveals great detail etched into the weapon. It would have taken a skilled smith to craft it.

...

Suddenly, both Harold and Flare hear a muffled cry.

Harold glances up quickly from the pile of props he'd been investigating. He looks at the strange hatted magician standing nearby.
"Did you hear...?" he asks, trying to pinpoint the source of the cry...

Harold considers the voice may be coming from the sub-level of the stage, but determines it's much closer than that. In the very wall of the stage front, perhaps?

Flare

Flare looks up from the blade he'd been holding in his hand, gaze darting around. "Hello? Is anyone there?"

There is nothing but complete silence.

Flare moves forward slowly, stopping when he reaches his best guess as to the source of the cry and examining the area. "Does someone need help?" He asks again.

Harold bites his lip and knocks on the wall, listening for hollow sounds...

Harold finds the wall is fairly thick - there are no hollow spots that he is aware of.

Flare calls out again, and still there is silence.

Suddenly, a voice speaks in a slightly mocking tone. "Oh, hey, what's that shiny, starry thing in the wall? It looks neat. Let's take it."

Flare looks around with a faint frown. "Uhh... where is it? I don't see it." He looks around, trying to see what the voice is talking about.

If he does see something, he'll reach out and try to grab it.

"...the blady star thingy. In the wall. It's about a foot in front of you, you goof."

Len looks around a bit confused. "Who's talking? Is that you, Ritan?" she asks, which is answered by a solemn "No."

Flare tilts his head curiously. "Well, alright. Thanks." He gazes down at the dagger in his hand, studying it. Then he looks up again. "Are we ready to go everyone?"

Fargrim, Ritan, and Len are in agreement - there's nothing else to do here. You return to Thomas, who once more thanks you for your efforts. "Again, The Silver Arch is in your debt. I am sure Mr. Gortana will be looking forward to meeting with you." With that, he brings you back to the entrance. "I'm going to be locking up now, if you don't mind..."

"Sure, we're done here." Once outside, he looks intently at the dagger. "Mystic sight, reveal thy elements."

Harold remains oddly silent as the group exits the theater. Scratching the nape of his neck, he watches as Flare performs his ritual. With a sigh, gives a half-hearted smile. "Well, we're at least 500 gold pieces further from a brutal death. Frankly, it's more than I expected to get right away from this kind of venture. We can check back tomorrow and make sure the Silver Star hasn't forgotten our help."

"You're right Harold. I thought of that too. And that voice... it wanted us to have this. I think it would be a good idea to hold on to this for now, until we learn more about it."

Harold makes a non-committal noise. "Or it's what drove the halfling mad in the first place. In any case, we ought to consider our next move. Me, I'm thinking lunch." He smiles. "To celebrating earning more money than I've ever seen together in my entire life in the space of a single morning!"

Silver Star? Huh? It's Silver Arch, bucko. Also, the Shuriken comes up as having energies of Transmutation within it, and...something else you cannot seem to determine.

"Well, if it's dangerous than I definitely want to know what it is. There's definitely something unusual about it. I can't quite decipher what that is though. I'll just hang on to it for now, until we decide what we want to do." He puts the strange star in his pocket. "I'm glad you're happy about our accomplishment. But then again, if we're just going to give it to criminals, it's not really anything that we earned." He walks along, lost in thought. "Maybe I'll keep my share for myself. Anyway, I'm going to have lunch in my room and then turn in early. I really took a beating back there."
