Re: Servants of the Thrallherd IC [3.5, high speed]
Grassis
Grassis kepts his big, fat mouth shut for a change and hoped for the best. A dozen thoughts raced through his head but now wasn't the time to vent to them out loud.
Perhaps the master would find such a state useful in his war - or perhaps not. Maybe this 'necropolitan' could be an ally or be used as a tool - though to be fair he seemed to have his own agenda that probably didn't align with the master's vision. Probably the best bet was to note this location for his report and continue on with their mission. Grassis didn't think he could better serve his master as an undead and wasn't sure this being wouldn't try to force it on him. The battle with the Roc had been tricky and doing it again didn't sound like fun and could delay their master's goals.
Spoiler
Probably hanging back around DJ108. Close enough to hear the conversation, but not close enough to be heard breathing etc.

Re: Servants of the Thrallherd IC [3.5, high speed]
Having slipped off of Joas’ horse, Grassis stands off to the side, invisible.
“Frank here got it.” Spretchum gestures at the bow-armed man on the steps of the temple. “So did Rocky back there – and even his pet rhino got stronger out of the deal. But I’m not some fool, I know a “Not interested” when I hear it. When I was researching this town and what’s under it, I ran across an unrelated quote. How did it go?
You may not be interested in undeath, but undeath is interested in you, and requires not your cooperation. ATTACK!”
A magical shield (the spell) springs into effect in front of the robed necropolitan, and Joas recognizes the signs of the armored one enhancing his durability with Vigor. The doors of several of the surrounding buildings are shoved open from the inside. Battle is at hand!

Round 1, Part 1
RexThaun charges boldly at the zombie rhinoceros, but his lance hits and bounces off the unnaturally thick hide of the creature. Grassis crosses behind Joas, firing a blast that hits the armored rapier-wielder.

Joas reinforces his body like the armored foe did, failing to conceal that he’s manifesting psionic powers. His ectoplasmic construct forms out of thin air and charges, attacking Oghum Spretchum with a powerful punch. ZrabHas charges it at the same time, but her kukri fails to connect.

Re: Servants of the Thrallherd IC [3.5, high speed]
Round 1, Part 2
The plate-armored rapier-wielder retreats to the edge of the temple’s front steps before manifesting Dimension Swap. Suddenly, he stands before the construct and ZrabHas, while the wizard is back at the temple door. He casts a spell, and the stone under ZrabHas and the construct is suddenly covered in a slippery black substance.
Spoiler
Identified as Grease, DC 15.

A balance check is required to walk in or through the space, but there’s nothing about walking “out” of the space, so if you move immediately out of the grease (and are not prone) I think there’s no other consequence.
The bare-handed warrior rushes around the cart; he moves very fast as he comes in to punch ZrabHas. He seems to grow a bit stronger and faster as he’s near the altar.

The silence of the night is shattered as skeletal hooves and the clumsy stompings of zombies echo around you. Out of several of the opened doors spill a mix of human zombies, as well as a flock of what appear to be zombified chickens. Several more zombie horses thud in from the east. To the south, the rhino-rider who greeted the party opens the doors to the stockyards and advances, followed by a dozen zombies and another flock of fowl undead.
To the west, a towering ettin skeleton bearing a pair of morningstars turns a corner and approaches from its hiding place behind the two-story store.
Spoiler
The zombie chickens are treated as a swarm. Joas rolled a 17 on his K: Religion check and can suppose that they have typical swarm traits and are probably too large to functionally have immunity to anything, but still probably are best countered by slashing weapons like other zombies.
Ettin skeletons have perfect two-weapon fighting and treat both weapons as primaries for purpose of attack bonuses. They are Large and strong, as are troll skeletons. (as SRD)
The zombie rhino steps forwards and gores RexThaun with its single large horn. The zombie horse also charges Rexthaun.
Spoiler

Re: Servants of the Thrallherd IC [3.5, high speed]
Taking the massive gore attack from his foe after missing so wildly, rex cursed in Draconic, something along the lines of 'may your mothers clutch be dead and weak for years to come', Draconic curses were long, and didn't translate well. But they sounded great to those who didn't speak draconic.

Re: Servants of the Thrallherd IC [3.5, high speed]
Joas
Joas is unhappy to see the mayor take flight. His construct got a few good hits in, though. Still intent on focusing attack on the more humanoid figures, figuring they are the leaders of the bunch, he directs his construct to charge P and hopes that his comrades with ranged firepower will take on the mayor. Then there´s the issue of getting swamped by zombies. Joas decides to approach that issue in the same way as last round, releasing an Energy missile at the undead around him and then moving to safety again.

Re: Servants of the Thrallherd IC [3.5, high speed]
Joas
Despite being fairly safe, Joas is feeling highly uncomfortable being swarmed by undead. He notices the psionic warrior is out of reach of his construct now as well, so he directs it at the next dangerous target: the Ettin. For himself, acknowledging that he and Grassis may be the only ones threatening the mayor now, he decides to direct a psionic assault at the mayor. That man needs to die. In the back of his head is still that rhino-rider, so he moves again to relative safety after.
Spoiler: Actions
AC, move to DP98 and attack the Ettin, power attack 2: (1d20+10)[15], damage (1d6+19)[21]. If hit: trip (1d20+9)[26].
Self: Cast Energy missile DC19 at W (mayor), 8 PP (overchannel), take (1d8)[5] damage. Cold version this time. Fortitude save for half (unless he is obviously skeletal, I am assuming Joas knows better than to cast frost at skeletons, in that case it is fire and reflex save). I think I may be able to target others around him as well, but given the 3D nature of the situation I leave that up to you. Below I´ll roll all potential targets, you decide whether they are in reach.
