M&M 3e: Deflect while Vulnerable?
Just a quick question: does the Deflect power count as an active defense for things like the vulnerable condition? Like if I'm Deflecting for an ally and made to be vulnerable, I would be less effective at defending him?
Edit: Also, is it possible to link another power to a reaction? I was imagining my dual-pistols gunslinger simultaneously firing one attack to block and another to attack.
Edit2: Now that I think about it, I would just have to Link the two after turning the attack into a reaction, right? Could Takedown be used with that?Last edited by RickAllison; 2016-08-30 at 10:45 AM.

Yes.

In that case what you're looking to do is link Deflect with your attacks, so that whenever you attack you're also Deflecting for the turn. And then maybe have the Deflect by itself as an alternate effect for when you just want to shoot at someone's attacks but not at them (or anyone else).

Re: M&M 3e: Deflect while Vulnerable?
Note that the Deflect power basically says "do not do this." It cannot be used as less than a standard action, which (I think) has to be the Defend action specifically. I'm not sure what the exact legality on Linking it to another power is, but I for one would not allow it. It's an exceptionally useful effect all by itself, and if you add Reflect/Redirect you can be an absolute monster.
