Anyone got tips for using sketchup make?

I kind of got fed up with using certain games for in game architecture; Architecture is something I enjoy, but have very little experience with (Basically, Minecraft and the Sims games).

So I looked into SketchUpMake. It looks interesting and may serve my purpose.

One big project I want to use it for is designing certain venues for my pathfinder setting; for visualization and such.

If this is the wrong forum for this, apologies. Wasn't sure where to put it.
