Newbie here with a spell question
Hey everyone. I'll be playing my first game this week and had a quick question. I will be playing a Sorcerer who is also an entertainer. I wanted to give her vicious mockery as one of her cantrips but noticed after I already made her that that's a spell tied to th ebard class. However, I'm an entertainer...can I have still have VM as one of my starter spells? Is that something my DM should decide? help!

It's something the DM should decide alongside you.
This is also the wrong area for this.

Re: Newbie here with a spell question
You might actually want to consider playing a Bard. Bards are literally a class designed to be sorcerous entertainers. Bards are also a good "Jack-of-all" trade class. They have the skill to fill in for a quick fighter, thief and mage if the party fighter/thief/mage is preoccupied.
When not fulfilling back up their gimmick is "entertainment and trickery magic". As a bard you're expected to be an obnoxious pest to your enemies and a melodious inspiration to your comrades.
