S1: Stepping into place as the door opens in is a woman (AiO #3, not on map) in a dirty, rumpled yellow robe. She has yellow markings and very dirty skin, and she holds a table leg threatening. She swings it with both hands at Jean with a cry, but it bounces off of an invisible force protecting him!

Begin Round 1 ...

R1T22: She recovers quickly and swings again, but still can't overcome Jean's magical protection.

R1T20: Nadya turns into a misty form and moves forward, sharing the space with Lord Hanley.

R1T18: A man (AiO #2), similarly garbed as the woman but wielding a crowbar, races from his hiding place down the line of shelves to now flank Jean. He only just clips Jean in the neck, yet it hits him at just the right spot for 6.

R1T15: Another door down the hall opens, likely a second door into the personal effects room!

R1T11: Jean, you are being flanked right now (AiO3 is to the south, off-map). The man was surprisingly strong, and even though he barely hit you, he knew how to make his surprise hit count. Javert flits into the hallway, and hops from foot to foot anxiously.

R1T10: Lord Hanley brushes past everyone, and rolls past Jean. While not the best display of acrobatics in getting past, Lord Hanley seems particularly skilled at avoiding blows while moving as both flanking, yellow-garbed people miss him as he rolls past.

Basically, the folks in yellow have Combat Reflexes, so they would've gotten a flanking/ sneak-attacking strike .... but the 50-year-old man trained and raised by dwarves is surprisingly good at battle mobility.

Drawing his hammer on the move, he passes Lord Hanley and gets to the second door to the north and looks in and strikes that person for a whopping 11 (max)!

Seeing the effect his strike had on the person in the room he calls out, "NO, Jean! Give honest battle to them to protect ourselves, but they are not evil - only insane patients that have been led astray, no doubt by Ulver Zandalus!"

R2T11: Whatever Dorn's moral objections, Jean's neck is still bleeding. His looping movements turn the edge of his scimitar on his attackers, and he delivers a mighty chop at the man holding the crowbar before stepping to the side to try and draw them out into the corridor. The man moved back enough with the bulk of his body, but didn't include his foot and takes 7 to his left foot, while also seeming just ever-so-slightly out of sorts. Given no other guidance, Javert stays out of the way to the west.

R2T10: "Do you hear that?" comes Lord Hanley's slightly sibilant speech as he looks at the man now fighting Dorn. "He doesn't think you're evil. So, give up. Throw down your weapon, withdraw to the corner of the room, and sit down facing that corner until we decide what to do with you.

"Dorn, be so kind as allow him to react to that instead of smashing his face in, please."

R3T24-22: Sure enough, the woman in the room to the south steps out and gets attacked by Brother Jaume, getting hit in the upper chest for 12 (max)! At the same time, Akbar's spell also goes off and the woman takes 5 ... and seems almost insensate.

R3T20: The little floating cloud of mist moves out of the southern room and goes into the northern room, passing through the dazed woman's square.

R3T18: AiO #2 swings his crowbar at Brother Jaume but misses wildly, as if distracted by something.

R3T15: AiO #1 drops his crowbar and withdraws into the room.

R3T14: Dorn tears into the room and attacks AiO #2, but the cultist hears the fast man pounding on the floor and spins quickly enough to block his hammer.

R3T10: Lord Hanley moves into the room and around. Jean sees him stare at something on the shelf, and a small box flies at AiO #2 and hits him in the head for 2.

Pre-Round One ... Jean casts shield on himself. Lord Hanley picks up several small stones in his hand.

Pre-Round Two ... Akbar casts mage armor on himself. With the noise he makes verbally casting that spell, Nadya shrugs and then casts shield on herself (which likewise has a verbal component ... which is not quiet). Seeing that whatever is on the other side of the door has likely heard the party, Dorn shrugs and casts expeditious retreat on himself.

Nadya cast heightened awareness on herself. Since she did so without a coffee bean (the normal arcane material component) or a divine focus, and given a certain way she did so, you would be willing to bet that she is a sorcerer. I don't know if this was implicitly made clear before, but with Jean seeing her casting, it is clear now. In addition, there is something .... dark ... about her casting. All sorcerers have bloodlines of some sort, so you would say she has some sorcerous bloodline that is otherwise seen as "icky" ... but you don't have enough data.

R1T8: The party now hears hoofbeats coming closer, and speeding up. It comes incredibly close, closer than what would make Zoo comfortable with his increased size. It isn't until he sees something right in front of him that he lashes out with an arm to try to grab. But in trying to grab his grabby-hand gets speared by something for 12, causing Zoo to yelp in pain. Still the tactic works as Zoo halts the creature's charge and is now grappling something Large!

R2T16: Björn takes a diagonal 5 ft step to the right to try to get a better view. He is now standing next to Jean, who has blood on his scimitar and can see something further into the midst. The northman now also sees all of Zoo, but still can't quite see the enemy. Having already moved forward to peek at what is around and pretty much fixed (for now), he looks about, head on a swivel, with sword and shield ready to fend off any attacks that come his way.

R2T15: Gaye gets bit in the belly for 3. She feels a stiffness, but throws it off.

R2T14: By totally blind luck, Akbar just manages to not get hit (despite being surprised) by a tribal that came up behind him!

R2T9: Haru will spend some of his power to maintain his magic and head towards Lord Hanley's voice, his weapon ready in case he sees an enemy. When he gets to Zoo, he can go north or south to go around, and randomly chooses the north. He ends up having to continue to go north to get around a tree, and as he begins heading east again, he soon spots a Tribal focused on something else (but there is no facing in combat, and you didn't try to be stealthy). So, in lieu of another enemy and with time running out (in the round), you attack the Tribal, but without concentrating Haru gets bit in the elbow for 3, loses the spell, and misses with his nunchaku.

R2T8.5: Zoo, you are currently grappling a supposed unicorn. What do you do?

R2T8.5: Zoo releases the weird horse-thing and sprouts his own horn. He lays into it with every available natural weapon at his disposal. The gore stabs into the unicorn's muzzle for 14. His first claw overextended, but luckily there were no other enemies near Zoo to take advantage of that opening. The claw scrapes across the ear of the horse-monster for 12.

R2T8: Now it is time for the unicorn's counter-attack. It gores Zoo in the left knee for 9, catches him in the right thigh for 3, then again in the right shoulder with the other hoof for 4.

R2T3-2.9: Javert, what do you do? It seems like there are tribals elsewhere on the battlefield, but you are facing a badly bloodied unicorn (who is facing off against a badly wounded Zoo). Any special orders for Javert?

R2T3-2.9: Go help Hanley! Jean thinks at Javert as he steps to the side, trying to avoid the thrashing forms of the two great beasts. "This is a unicorn, it's meant to defend the innocent - why is it attacking us? Has the mist driven it mad?" he says, but his questions are rhetorical. The creature was attacking them and they would have to kill it to survive, so as he steps to the side he swings again for the unicorn's flank, but the beast proves far more agile than the dusky half-elf. Javert withdraws so as not to get stabbed.

R3T24: "My gratitude Mr. Bardakçı!" calls Lord Hanley from the mist to the east. From a concealed place in his sleeve, he draws out a dagger sized for his small hands and ducks to cut the back of the tribal's left knee for 8.

R3T23: Gaye concentrates defensively on a spell, then with a glowing hand reaches out to touch her opponent in the thigh, but he only takes 2 PE. Miffed, Gaye says, "Looks like I will have to do this the old-fashioned way."

R3T20: Akbar, you are facing a tribal right now, and another one diagonally to your left. There is a terrifying unicorn right behind you. What do you do?
