Scarecrow

Scarecrow takes a 5ft step upwards and tries to set fire to the wraith. He now realizes that the fire was a mistake, since the wraith is unlikely to stay much longer facing him, and so he will end up having to face most of them together.

"Can you do anything with magic to harm them? I can try distracting them enough for you to give them a blow or two if I am lucky. Either that or if you can't we should fall back just a bit as to not be in the way but close to the others as to not be defenseless against these monsters" Namia says as she tries lifting her hammer which is significantly harder now, her hands trembling from the pain and their lack of power.

"I think I should do the same with my hammer if we are going to be dealing with foes like this, as well as some better armor." Namia starts moving away from the two buildings if Eleanor follows, trying to put her allies between the buildings where the wraiths are and themselves.

Namia stands up and moves away from the buildings!


Brutus gallops after the wight, charging it! He strikes it with a hoof, almost knocking it down!

Doldor charges the wight, too, destroying it with a claw!


Scarecrow floats upwards a little and breathes upon the wraith -- and the building! The wraith exactly makes its save, but Scarecrow manages to burn some of the fabric of its essence through its incorporeality! He also sets fire to the northwest corner of the building. The roof and all the rubble begins smouldering.


Wraith #5 delays!

Wraith #1 sinks into the ground away from the fire and the sun, and flows northeast, reëmerging within the northeast room of the building!


Eleanor, safe in the sunlight, leans on Exogenesis and chills.


Shian and his psicrystal delay slightly!


The fire spreads, coming dangerously close to engulfing Scarecrow!

Deciding that the fire is probably faster than him, even with the acidic hole delaying it, Scarecrow moves to leave the house through the hole in the ceiling, to face the wraiths as a group in the other house.

Shian flies to the new hole and spits upon wraith #6! Shian's psicrystal also spits upon #6! They both hit the wraith, which evaporates into nothingness with a shriek!


Namia moves up near Eleanor!


Eleanor heads over to the gropagas and offers to buy a casting of magic weapon! The gropagas glance at each other, and one hops down from the cage, gestures and incants and presents his weedaula, and touches Exogenesis. The weapon now has +1/+1 and is magical for 1 minute. "Good luck!"


Brutus chills.

Doldor ... I just realized I didn't give this building any doors, only windows. It makes only a square worth of mechanical difference, but I was imagining the southern window on the western wall as a door, so we'll switch that up now. My bad.

Ok, so, Doldor heads to the nearby window, peers inside, sees that #6 has already evaporated, and chucks fire at #4! But the fire passes past the wraith, and strikes the dry wooden wall, which... immediately bursts into flames!


Wraith #4 phases through the wall to get away from Doldor and the fire.


Scarecrow... rather than delaying and potentially letting the fire catch up to him, fly-Runs up through the hole in the roof and out of the building, away from the fire?


The fire expands!

Extremely dry, crappy, crumbling wood, mostly. Wood that was old and crappy, recovered from old and crappy ships, even before it was left out to weather unattended for 20 years. Really, it's a miracle there's still any buildings standing at all.

Brutus sits and attempts to lick his own nether regions, not comprehending that he is now a pony.


Shian... can't quite hit #2 from anywhere outside the building with a 30' range, so he moves a bit NW and he and his psicrystal ready actions to spit if #2 moves closer.


Namia chills.


Eleanor moves into the building! (The gropaga climbs back onto the wagon-cage to watch the fight.)


Wraith #2, shrieking, charges Eleanor (it ignores the difficult terrain because it is incorporeal, of course)!

Shian and his psicrystal have their readied actions trigger! Shian's acid strikes the creature, but it phases right through the psicrystal's!

The wraith gets within Eleanor's reach with Exogenesis, and she swings an attack of opportunity! It's a good strike, but the weapon passes right through the wraith!

The wraith gets close enough to touch Eleanor! It easily touches her through her armor! Eleanor takes 1 damage and fails her Fortitude save and takes 4 Constitution drain!


The wraith's calls, yelling in Infernal that one of them has been foolish enough to enter the dimness away from the hated sunlight, brings wraiths #5 and #1!

#5 passes through the wall, passes through one of Eleanor's threatened square, provokes! But she misses it, and it reaches out to touch her. It touches her! Eleanor takes 1 damage but makes her Fortitude save!

Wraith #1 flows under the ground from the southern building to the northeastern one, popping up just south of Eleanor (who has used all her AoOs for the round), and touches at her! It successfully touches her! Eleanor takes 1 damage, fails her save, and takes 6 Constitution drain!


Doldor chucks fire at wraith #2, but it passes through the creature and strikes the wall, which bursts into flames!


Wraith #4 hears #2's calls and flows through the walls to Eleanor! It hits her! Eleanor takes 3 damage but resists the Constitution drain!


Scarecrow floats northeastly! (EDIT: moved 40', not 30', map edited to reflect this. Because Run feat, but heavy armor, unless I'm wrong. And because it doesn't matter much, downwards 10', too.)


The fire expands!


Wraith 3 floats through the wall, avoiding the fire, up to Eleanor! It touches her! Eleanor takes 1 damage but resists the drain!

By my calculations, assuming Eleanor was healed to full after the big fight but before the wraith fight, she's now at 8 Constitution, 32HP out of a max of 32HP, and 7 in her delayed damage pool. (For the record, the doorway itself is shady enough for the wraiths to attack, but any square outside the doorway is too sunny, the creatures can neither enter nor attack into a sunny square. I say "sunny", it's actually super-cloudy and drizzly, but sunny enough for the wraiths to be powerless.)

I intended Scarecrow to have down as part of his previous run action, though it doesn't matter that much. Also, Scarecrow has the Run feat, so he should be able to run-fly 50ft, and I don't know if you considered it. Regardless, Scarecrow's fall was intended, so the first dice should be nonlethal, and the scond might not exist, depending on you...

Standard action to transform back.
Move action to advance 20ft towards Eleanor, which I think would also place the wraiths within a 40ft cone attack.
Dragonborn breath has recharged by now, at least by my count, so, swift action cone of acid: (3d8)[19] recharge: (1d4+4)[8]

Namia marches up and does some demolition, knocking down a section of wall!


Eleanor pounds the ceiling, and it collapses! The collapsing wood and accumulated roof-dirt passes harmlessly through the wraiths, but falls on Eleanor, who utterly fails to dodge the falling debris; Eleanor takes 9 damage! (Some of that goes into her DD pool, but then her entire DD pool goes into her HP at the end of her turn, leaving her now at a total of 16 hp according to my calculations.)

Namia dodges flying debris!

Eleanor is standing in a heap of rubble, but is in sunlight now! So are all the wraiths! They cringe!


Shian pirouettes and wings south, spitting at #1! The acid damages it!

Shian's psicrystal also spits at #1! But it passes through the wraith and leaves a melty-mark on the floor.


Wraiths #2, #5, and #1 flee from the sunlight, into the next rooms! Eleanor swings at #2 but completely misses, but she catches #5 with Exogenesis for some damage!


Doldor throws fire at... #2 has moved away, so instead, #3! The wraith burns!


Wraith #4 flees from the light!


Scarecrow, having descended a bit after all last round, transforms, and falls deliberately to the ground, taking 2 nonlethal damage! Then he moves and... there's only one wraith left, and it can't attack Eleanor. So... he doesn't spend his dragonborn breath?


The fire continues to consume the buildings! The northeastern corner of the southwestern building collapses with a huge crash!


Wraith #3 flees, around the fire (the non-magical fire can't hurt the wraiths, but they still don't like it), deeper into the building!
